Outstanding food! Was here on a business dinner but did a lot of sharing. Had the assortment of oysters to start and even though we are dead center in the middle of the country, tasted right out of the ocean. The table shared an assortment of appetizers. I primarily had the octopus, which was perfectly prepared and seasoned. Had the lamb ravioli – simply outstanding. Strong wine list. Nice ambience and artwork.

Stopped in for a quick dinner and what a good dinner it was. I had their Quinoa stuffed Squash Blossoms and it was divine. The presentation was beautiful. The sauce was so good! We ate at the bar and the bartender did a fine job including helping me with my selection. It was a very nice evening with excellent food.

Came in for some apps & drinks. Octopus — nice flavors & nice presentation. BBQ oysters — omg it’s like French onion soup meets oysters! Loved them. Cheese plate — nothing special but good Lobster bisque– full of flavor and not fishy

The French Onion soup was very good. A soft and crunchy cheese covering with abundant onion and croûton. The menu for lunch is interesting and varied. The service was great. The happy hour looks interesting. I may have to come back.

Nice signage outside enticing us inside. We were there the 14th April, 4 ladies 60 to 65yrs. Not that we feel old but we’re having a girls lunch out and enjoying the day. Waiter was awful, nice personality but slow slow service– asked for bread as the other tables had some and he said he brought some??? No, — well I thought I brought you some – (?) other patrons were complaining about service, was difficult about getting us the bill-? How long does that really take??? Okay he had someone help him and then that guy disappears– finally get the bill and I’m ticked. Argues about obvious lack of bread, can’t get water glasses refilled, can’t get the bill. my daughter is a professional waitress at a fancy restaurant so I know how difficult job is but really? We leave and the helping guy is sitting outside restaurant smoking and on his phone! What? You leave the waiter with tables full and play? I didn’t leave tip, others in my party did– WAITER came out as we were walking away and YELLSATUS !!! You thought you got bad service??! You obviously thought you had poor service? Who does that? We walked across the way to parking garage and the helper guy is now walking behind us very slowly listening to our conversation and we didn’t know it until I turned to talk and saw him!!! What the heck??? You have two bathrooms in your place but you follow us to the parking garage to pee??? Creepy! WORSTEXPERIENCE! DONTGO!

The salmon salad with the avocado vinaigrette paired with the cab sav is incredible! Great atmosphere & right in the middle of Vail Village.

Our last dinner in Vail was at La Tour. And although it was much easier to get a reservation here than other places(like Sweet Basil), it definitely didn’t disappoint. First off, the ambiance in here is more upscale than the other places we went and the diners were a bit older and more dressed than some other locations. Dim lighting. Excellent waitstaff. We ordered a bottle of wine to start from their extensive wine list but for some reason it wasn’t available. So the waiter sent the sommelier around to suggest some wines. Honestly, at first we were a bit put off by the kind of snobbish comments he made about the wine we had initially ordered(and how he showed the wine to the«gentleman» instead of me… pshhh!) but once we started chatting with him I realized he was just really pumped about wine. Plus, he was from Tennessee so that helped. And the wine he suggested was really tasty even if I did almost choke when I saw how much it was. No matter, we drank it and were pleased. On to the food! We considered the tasting menu but we just didn’t want that much food to deal with so we picked things off the menu instead. Appetizers Lobster, Apple, Jicama — pepitas, jalapeño, pickled red onions, coconut, cilantro, and ginger butternut sauce. This was awesome! So fresh with spice added by the jalapeño and sweet by the sauce. We liked it so much we soaked up the sauce with the bread. Oh and the bread was soft and the butter soft and ommmmm so good. Maple glazed pork belly — pumpkin tortellini, candied walnut, dried cranberries, ginger snap, and a chile maple glaze. Oh my God, the crust on this ate like candy. Chewy and sweet like caramel with savory pork belly. It was delicious. Entrees I had the grilled colorado lamb loin served with a vinaigrette, pickled radishes, and rosemary sauce as well as some potatoes. It was way bigger than I thought with the potatoes! The lamb was medium rare and everything tasted perfect. Also I added a 2 oz of foie gras to the plate just because the boyfriend had never had it. And as I expected, he loved it because duck liver tastes like heaven, people!(Also, the manager told us anyone who adds on foie gras to their meal is immediately his favorite customers because they know good food. I know, right?!) The BF had the buffalo medallions, cooked rare, with duchesse potatoes, mushrooms, scallions, and sauce. It was also delicious. Can’t say too much more about it since I didn’t get too many bites as the BF ate it up! We got a side of lobster mashed potatoes and I would say… meeeeh. Not sure what to make of that although I did like the gravy on it. But it was not all that lobstery and our dinner came with potatoes anyway, so it was just extra stuff we ordered and didn’t need. Oh well. The service was really exemplary. We had the manager checking in numerous times. We had the sommelier check in to make sure we liked the wine. Our waiter was efficient and not overbearing. Top notch. Definitely recommend this place when you are in Vail if you want a fancy pants dinner, some ballin’ wine, and an add on of foie gras to whatever Colorado animal you are going to devour!

Wow. Wow. Stunning. Wow. The décor is upscale with no wasted space. The wait staff is amazing. Jamis is a spectacular wait person. He knew his menu top to bottom and described it accurately. La Tour was very busy, so, he worked hard to keep the customers satisfied. The Chef’s Taste is expensive — and worth every penny. The starter was hamachi and caviar with cherry tomato and lemon. Oh, wow. The second was barbecued oysters. The BBQ mix had secret ingredients that tasted like bacon. Stunning. The third course was Foie Gras and pecan French toast with ginger foam and jalapeño sauce. Phenomenal. The fourth course was steak and potatoes. I sopped the plate. Speechless. The crème brûlée…

Service was decent, it was the lunch hour and we were the only ones dinning. The lobster bisque was decent. My wife had the French onion soup which was marginal. The bread was fresh however and the roasted Brussel sprout mini chefs dish was good. Definitely not worth the money, but for mountain food I guess it’s a better option then what you will find at many of the other resort resturants around. Def is a one and done for us.

Amazing! Came in for a surprise birthday date and was so impressed with everything from the service to the unique menu. The lobster mash potatoes are out of this world, but you really can’t go wrong! Try something you’ve never heard of and you will not be let down.

First of all, I have to say that Tony, the host who answered the phone, SAVEDOURNEWYEARSEVENIGHT. Our previous NYE reservation was a complete failure and an upset father was on the brink of ruining our family NYE gathering. Already in Vail and with no place to eat our NYE dinner, I called La Tour with little hope. Despite La Tour having a fully booked night and pre-paid reservations, Tony took the time to squeeze our party of 6 in and we only had to wait 10 minutes for our table to be set up. I’m not sure if he heard the desperation in my voice, but Tony and La Tour provided us with out-of-the-way service I’ve never experienced before. THANKYOULATOUR!!! On top of that out of world service, the food was phenomenal. The NYE dinner was a pre set 5 course menu that included: Oysters w/caviar– so fresh! Ravioli– this was no regular ravioli, it was filled with egg yolk and topped with truffle oil; my favorite of the night! Squid & scallop salad– another unique twist on the combination of the two and so flavorful; my second favorite Filet mignon & lobster– extremely tender filet and juicy lobster White chocolate raspberry cake– light and a perfect ending to the most perfect dinner! Eggnog mignardise– my first time having eggnog with bourbon… So yummy.

After bundling up and braving the cold, we were quickly warmed up at La Tour. Candle lit tables and delicious lobster bisque soup started the evening. Lots of families, speaking many different languages, filled up the restaurant, but it was still quiet enough to have good conversation. For entrees, we ordered the black truffled marinated black cod and the grilled Colorado lamb loin. Both superb and the black cod was my favorite. The rich truffle butter sauce was perfectly indulgent. The service topped off the whole experience and mini hot chocolates at the end were a nice touch. Would love to come back!

I would have given a higher rating — probably four stars and maybe five, but our waiter was just terrible. The food is really good but it took about 15 minutes to get water, another 15 minutes to get our order taken, another 15 minutes to get our apps and them a half hour to get the main courses. In that time span our waiter came by maybe twice. There was another guy working there who actually took our drink order after sensing our apparent sense of being abandoned. When the absent waiter dropped the bill(as he was walking by) it sat there with a card for a good 15 minutes. I finally asked the hostess to take it to him and he dropped it on the table a while later without saying a word. Never introduced himself or asked how everything tasted — he sucked. Too bad for all of the folks who work hard making the food only to have the experience spoiled by a guy like that.

Really wonderful crew working here on a busy Thanksgiving night. The food was outstanding as mentioned in other reviews. A butternut squash soup was phenomenal as was the lobster bisque. The trout meunière was excellent. Our daughters nut allergy was handled with no problem. Great place.

I ate here with about 10 of my family & friends and it was overall a great experience. the gentleman who waited on us was absolutely perfect & right on top of things… Especially because my family can be a bit demanding & annoying as f*ck…honestly. as i former waitress, they are the kind of people that would make me hate my job. I wish i remembered our waiters name so i could give him credit! Everyone enjoyed their food very much. i recently changed my diet drastically and i didnt have a lot of options to choose from, they did let me order off the childrens menu unlike other places who do not allow it. The customer service was overall amazing. it is slighty pricey, but what do you expect from a place that has a dude collecting coats at the door and assisting the guests in putting them back on when they depart. I recommend this place for sure :)

We fell in love with this place. Went for dinner during restaurant week and had an amazing night! The sommelier was our best friend by the end of the night. He helped us pick a wine that was PERFECT for us! And told us all the history behind the region and we just loved everything he had to say. Great food, especially the French onion soup(OMG!), great wine, great service, and a great pre-dinner woody mule at the bar. Amazing night at La Tour!

My husband and I decided to come here for lunch during our honeymoon in Vail. Previous reviewers boasted how the service was excellent but unfortunately our experience was not ideal. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars because the service we experienced was poor. Our server seemed miserable to be working there. She was not friendly or helpful when we asked questions about the menu. Also, we waited a lengthy amount of time for her to approach our table. This was during the off season when there are not a lot of tourists in town. The restaurant was not busy during our visit. Clearly, she only had one other table to worry about. We ordered the Marinated French Olives and Roasted Cauliflower to start with. Both are small plates and were good. My husband ordered the House Smoked & Shaved Colorado Lamb French Dip which was absolutely delicious! I had the Buffalo Petite Filet Steak Salad. Very light and was great. Other reviewers complimented the service which does make me feel more open about coming back during our next visit to Vail. However, I still have a sour taste left in my mouth after the service we experienced.

We had a great experience here during Vail Restaurant Week on our 20th anniversary. My husband and I were so touched by every single person who served us saying congratulations; everyone was very kind and thoughtful. We were given sparkling wine(Gruet) and it was really delicious. The prices during restaurant week were incredible. We enjoyed the sourdough bread with the salted butter. I had the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and it was very unique with many complex flavors. It came with roasted cauliflower which usually I don’t eat, but even that tasted good here! My husband had the Fruits de Mer(seafood for those like me who didn’t know) and he thought it was very good. Our highlight was dessert. My husband had the PB&J which is peanut butter mousse with peanut brittle and grape gelato. He said it was of the best desserts he has ever had. He loved it! I had the Milk Chocolate Pots de Crème which was also delicious. I especially loved the chocolate truffles that came on the side– wow! The service was top notch, the restaurant was very pretty, the statues on the table were interesting, they seem to place a lot of value on local artists and local wine, and the food was great. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary and we appreciated the kindness and service shown to us!
