We rented in Dillon and skied at Vail. We decided to change our our skis and the Christy’s crew at Vail Village was outstanding. They did the ski swap and change of paperwork really fast. They even store our skis for us at night(if you rent there). HUGEBONUS! They are only about 50 steps from the Gondola which make this location super easy! The staff and crew are the best. Great selection, great service and great price! They even sent our old skis back to Dillon so we didn’t have to make the extra trip!!!

Wow, those guys at Christy Sports Ski and Snowboards are awesome, helpful and we highly recommend them. This past weekend, my cousins and I took a last minute trip to Vail to snowboard and we needed to rent our equipment. We weren’t sure what to expect. What we received was an amazing time as a result of Joe, Jay, and a few other guys setting us up with the right gear at the right price; board, boots, bindings, helmet, lockers, etc. Since it was a last minute trip, we didn’t have a reservation(although you should make one to guarantee your stuff). However, Joe personally set me up and tuned-up my equipment at the end of day one. We are thankful, grateful & appreciative to Joe, Jay and the Snowboard & Ski crew @ Christy Sports. Have a TERRIFIC day and beyond, just like me!

Great location right next to the slopes. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the prices were also very good. I will absolutely rent from here again next time I am in Vail.

This review is for the rental shop. Great staff, very welcoming and helpful. I was able to switch out my boots for a better fit in a different brand but the same size, which made walking around town a lot easier on my feet as well as skiing itself! Kyle St. Charles really took the lead on helping my mom, who needed help choosing a rental ski. He dealt with all of our questions easily and you could tell he knows a lot about the technology behind the skis and what difference the ski’s components make in terms of the way the ski turns. My mom’s skis turned out to be a great fit, which makes me really happy, to have someone really listen to her and take her seriously. She got the Rossignol Temptation in a 160 long. Later on, Kyle helped me get a partial refund for days I decided not to keep my rental skis for, and it was a quick and easy process. We really appreciate all the great help we got and will definitely recommend this rental shop to anyone! Unfortunately, I was unable to find a ski that fits my style of skiing. For one thing, I grew up on old fashioned skinny skis and even when I raced slalom and giant slalom parabolic skis in college, I always preferred a skinny waist and a sheet of metal in addition to the wood core of the ski. I usually ski Saloman or Atomic. I tried four skis total. The first two were mens skis– both were fat in the waist(85) and 170 long. The first was too much ski for me. I think it was a Rossignol. The second was a Head ski, same dimensions but softer flex. This ski I could carve with at high speed on blue terrain but found powering out of my turn at moderate speed to be too difficult, especially on icy terrain. The third ski was a bust: the K2 Superfree in 153 long.(76 in the waist). One guy told me it was a int/advanced ski but it was rated by Ski magazine as a beginner ski and I could tell — I could carve some quick snappy turns due to a narrower waist and a shorter turning radius, but when I tried to get it to hold an edge at high speed, it didn’t. The fourth ski was actually rented to me by a nice kid named Slaten at the Beaver Creek Christy’s. He was efficient and helpful, listened to my concerns about the length and soft flex of the K2 Superfree, and brought out a ski that turned out to be a slightly better fit — the Volkl Kenja, the only fat waisted womens ski I tried. The Kenja was fasssst but still not stable enough for me at high speed and I didnt like the longer turning radius. I was able to make quick snappy turns but with only with bad form. When I focused on proper form, the ski wanted to run away from me. So either all fat waited skis are just too much for me to handle, or I just need something with a quicker turning radius that is stable at high speed. Whatever it is, Oh well! I ended up renting a pair of Atomic GS skis(Doubledeck Redster) from Gorsuch which were more my comfort zone.(Length: 166; Radius 15; Tip 113; Waist 71; Tail 99.)

I’d been dying to rent some new K2s in my size, and Christy’s came to the rescue! I called a few days in advance to a) see if they had them, and b) see if they were willing to hold them. Fortunately the answers were yes and yes! Since I was only wanting to rent them for one day, and on a Saturday they did ask that I call back after 5 on the Friday before to hold my skis. Fair enough. Definitely glad I put my name on them because the rental guy that helped me said he almost gave them away. The whole process was pretty painless, but that’s mostly because I had my own boots & poles and knew exactly what I wanted. I had been here once before with my brother who needed to rent the full setup and he said he was really happy with his gear and fit of his boots. Anyway, thanks again Christy’s!

Didn’t have the same experience as other reviewers. Staff abrupt. Acted frustrated and«put out», despite my reservation. If i hadn’t already paid online, I would have left and gone elsewhere. Too many great shops to deal with disgruntled employees. Can’t recall name, but it was the afternoon of 2÷23÷15. Poor attitude bled over into product delivery, with incorrect binding release setting, leading to return to shop. Won’t be returning to this shop.

I had a great experience — both with rentals and in the store. I booked online and it only took minutes to get my gear together. It was my first outing of the year so I had to replace some gear and I found an excellent selection at a range of prices. The service in rentals and the store was excellent. You can tell the store is well-managed, because the staff is happy and create a welcome environment. I had some discomfort with my boots the first day and they were very accommodating and found me the perfect boots.

Friendly and laid back staff. I booked online and enjoyed the reservation discount. It also made for a speedy pick up and drop off. The equipment was in great shape. I’d recommend them!

Christy’s is the best! I’ve rented from them for years because of the close location to the mountain and the high quality products. The guys in rental are super helpful, and knowledgable. The prices and selection are great

Christy’s could not be better. Conveniently located with great gear — but what makes it super special and a stand out from other sporting goods stores in Vail is the excellent staff. My girlfriend and I rented skis for our trip and the guys running the show downstairs are so professional and personable. Especially Jay and Joe — these guys took really great care of us every day, going out of their way to be sure our equipment was perfect for us and just making us laugh. Highly, highly recommend.

Convenient right off the slope. We reseved ahaed of time .The guys who work there are so nice andsome very funny! Even when my sisterinlaw kept asking for help putting on boots. Service with a smile always. When I couldnt ski one day due to altitude sickness the first day they took it off my bill. Joe was the best. All are helpful ! Will return!

After breaking my skis on a beautiful powder day, «jay» helped me out by letting me rent a pair of skis for the rest of vacation at a discounted price! So awesome! I get to keep skiing for thanksgiving week rather than go home and call it quits. Truly amazing service! Thanks again guys!

Great ski shop in Vail. They have fabulous products and a very knowledgeable staff for sales and service. I am a bit biased towards them as one of my very good friends used to work here. I stop in every time I am in town and always want more stuff than my budget allows.

Best equipment rental place in Vail. My husband and I rented ski equipment for 9 day. My rental boots gave me trouble, but they switched them out 5 times despite being the busiest ski times of the year. Then, I decided to purchase boots, so they refunded my unused boot days. Then, my husband broke his hand and had to stop skiing, so they refunded his ski equipment and even exchanged stories about their broken bones. If you need equipment — visit Christy’s and ask for Thomas or Joe. Those guys are all around good people!

Knowledgeable staff. Reasonable prices. Great selection. Size 13 feet are no problem as they were able to hook me up with everything I needed. While some parts of Vail can be a little snobbish, you won’t find that holier than thou attitude at Christy Sports. Definitely recommend checking them out.

Obviously there are a bunch of places to rent ski and snowboard rental places in vail. Found this place on Unilocal and it was awesome! It was super busy on Saturday morning but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Dropping the rentals took like two secs so get as much time as you can on the mountain! I’d say the prices are pretty comparable to other places and it’s conveniently located in Vail Village!

Pretty good. We used a bunch of Christy’s services, and I’ll review them all: 1) Snowboard tune up, $ 55. I had a bunch of scratches and badly needed a waxing, and they did it all, overnight, and it looks great. 5 stars for repair! 2) Buying gear. Of the shops close to Vista Bahn(Vail Sports, Christy’s, American Ski Exchange), Christy’s is the best bang for your buck. Prices are reasonable and the selection is pretty good. 5 stars. 3) Ski rental. OK. My wife wanted to rent powder skis to try them out, but they first just gave her normal carving skis, then after going back to them, they didn’t have the right size in «women’s» powder skis, and finally we ended up with«men’s» powder skis(whatever the difference is). The rentals worked out well, but the although the staff was friendly, they did not seem particularly knowledgeable. On the plus side, when you rent from them, you get free storage every night… 3 stars for rentals.

This is a great place to rent skis at is is close, and the staff is super nice. They also have $ 1.50 to store your stuff once you’ve got all your gear on. I particularly like that the decent pass gets you 20% off. What a deal.

This place rocks! I went here one morning to demo a pair of skis and was greeted by extremely knowledgeable staff members. If you want to pick the brain of some great ski gurus, this is the place to be. Great selection of ski apparel, but I wasn’t there for any of that. Just a great pair of skis and I was able to easily accomplish that here. Great daily rates and the staff makes sure you’re going to have a blast on the slopes. It’s right in the heart of Vail village, so you can’t miss it. Right across from The Red Lion.
