I give it 5 stars for yummy sandwiches! 3 stars for the lack of staff and long wait times. Need more seating too. Will be back

Love their sourdough tool that are baked on location. I’ve been coming here for years and have never had a messed up order. Granted one sandwich order does not require a lot of coordination, but it is my own creation, not one on there extensive menu. I’ve also had the chef salad. It is standard, cheese and meat, larger than I can finish for lunch. Sometimes I order half a sandwich, which is quite large. Add chips and a drink and you are set.

So it seems recently they updated there décor. Menus and paint seems nice. The place looks really clean.
I just found out about online ordering and pick-​up window!
But the real reason for the updated stars to a FIVE, was the amazing customer service I received after an order gone wrong. They seemed to have had new sandwich artist in place. Unfortunately this individual completely destroy they masterpiece that is the Hang Loose. I called to let them know I was disappointed and how badly the sandwich had been made (forgot the avocado, not enough cream cheese and added a Swiss/​provolone for the heck of it. NO!). They were super apologetic for the screw up and let me know when I came in next time they would give me a credit. How nice! No struggle, or further explanation. The next day I came in and let them know again what had happed and sure enough they apologized, let me know there was a lot of new staff and treated me to my sandwich.
If you follow my reviews you know that it’s so much more for me than a purchase or exchange of money for food and/​or merchandize etc. To me is about customer satisfaction, building loyalty and a customer who will not only keep returning but will stand by and recommend the establishment. Mr. Pickles in Vacaville is just that from the experiences I have had with them. TY!

If you can get past the high price of the sandwich you will quickly forget how much you paid when you get your hoagie. It’s packed with meat and made with care. The bread is fresh and the cookie given with the meal is a nice touch to finish off an otherwise great lunch.
Thank you for a great meal and I will be back when I am in town again.

I have a very picky boyfriend so when I brought home a sour dough sandwich instead of his favorite dutch bread he was upset, I called in to ask if they would change the bread for me and not only were they very kind about the whole situation but they made me a whole new sandwich! We usually don’t come here to often because its across town but I think the extra five minute drive is worth it after such a pleasant experience.

Always love there sandwiches and today signed up for the pickle points and the Worker Laura was so nice and helpful with understanding the program after a few questions. Thank you so much for the yummy sandwich and a good conversation. Will be back for sure

We’ve ate here a few times, sandwiches and sides are OKAY, nothing special. Unfortunately will never return, due to the rude lady that thinks she runs this place. I don’t even know if she works there anymore, doesn’t really matter though. She pissed me off with how rude she was to not only us as customers but to the people she works with. Oh and they CHARGE you to eat there vs to go, you’re charged $ 2 more just for eating there! Yea I’m good

Good sandwiches, horrible service. The woman ringing people up was very rude and obviously uninformed of the business she works at. I have the rewards card on my phone trying to show her and after she finalizes the transaction tells me a should have told her before she finished ringing me up?! She’s too busy criticizing the other employees and not working herself. Zero stars for her and 3 for the good sandwiches.

I came in on Valentines Day, and it was my first visit in. The quality of these sandwiches are always great, but my review is mostly for the lady behind the sandwich counter (she did not have a name tag, but it was not Gina at the cash register). She was extremely friendly and cheerful. As I’ve said many times on here, I’m in a customer service related industry, so I am overly sensitive to when I receive great customer service. I feel it should always be appreciated, so we see it more often! It seems like, all too often, all we do is complain on Unilocal.So to the lady behind the counter, someone apprecaites you ;)

This was a pretty terrible experience. When we walked in there two other orders ahead of us… yet the ladies seemed frazzled already. Then after a few minutes we were acknowledged and our order was taken. About ten minutes later the other customers left and I was still waiting… when a group of people walk in and I notice they immediately start doing their orders. When I inquire about my order I didn’t get a reply instead noticed eye rolls. I followed up with a different lady who said oh they are going to start right now… After waiting for 20 minutes, no thanks! Wasn’t even offered an apology just more eye rolls.

Good sandwiches, HORRIBLE customer service, Workers are rude and unorganized. This needs to be fixed asap or I will no longer be visiting.

LOVE This place!
I grab a sandwich 1 – 2 times a week from here around 3 p.m. and have never eaten dinner on those nights.
HUGE portions and delicious sandwiches.
I typically get the Club because it is SOOOOO good, but everything I’ve had there is great.
The selection of breads is phenominal.
I went yesterday or I would go there today. Then again, I might just go back today…

I had a beautiful classic Reuben sandwich this trip. I have been here half a dozen times. Every sandwich I’ve had here is amazing.
unlike other places, they use fresh veggies and yummy bereads. the rye bread was thick and moist, some of the best I’ve had. the sauerkraut was just right. I didn’t add anything else, just a classic rueben right off the board and I highly recommend it.
The sandwiches run around $ 8 each and they are worth it. one sandwich can feed two people unless you are super hungry.

I once had a friend who told me to stay away from this place. As time went on, I grew to learn not to trust his advice– for eateries or otherwise. Some years later, my wife and I stopped here a few months ago… very tasty sandwiches. Quality ingredients. To be picky, I HAVE had better, but not in Vacaville. That level of «better» is one solid star higher… and Mr. Pickles isn’t that far off. So, forward a month or two and I stopped by today. Two college-​aged young women hard at work, and took my to-​go order promptly. One gal made both sandwiches, the other (who had waited on another customer), rang me up, and I just waited a few minutes for my order to be filled.
Got back to my place and yep, same experience. My wife had a Reuben, and I ordered a Manhattan without swiss, on a sourdough roll. Will we return? Most Likely! Gotta love the cookies they treat you with too!

I received great service today. It’s been about a year the last time I ate at this place. I was disappointed. Today made up for it. Friendly and Ken made my sandwich the way I like it without my direction.

This was my first time into Mr. Pickle’s, but it will not be my last. The hubby and I both ordered their #1 sandwich consisting of; turkey, avocados, hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions. I oped for a sweet roll, and the hubby got the Dutch crunch roll. They were both delicious. The Wee One got a roast beef with bacon (she’s a little carnivore). Everything was AMAZING. They make you sandwich fresh, and the staff is super-​friendly. So it’s a little slow to your food, but well worth the wait. The whole place just has this down-​home-​small-​town shop feel to it, that would put a smile on even the Grinch’s face.
I will be getting my lunch from Mr. Pickle’s again soon.

I would like to update my previous review of Mr. pickles sandwich shop at 300 E. Montavista, on Monday I told them what happened to me on Friday and they apologized, The owner Donna said she was a new employee and they made me a wonderful sandwich on Monday and did not charge me.
I don’t usually, write another review so quickly but I just wanted to thank Kendra and the owner of Mr. pickle Donna, for correcting the error of their employee, Kendra is a new employee she’s been there for a couple of months and she always greets me with a smile and I so appreciated it

Tasty place to grab a hearty sandwich (if you can handle the wait)! I was first drawn to Mr. Pickle’s after finding out they had Dutch Crunch bread! One of the few shops in Vacaville that does, although theirs tends to be a bit more dense and not as crunchy. Nonetheless, I’ve enjoyed both sandwiches that I’ve tried here so far — The Manhattan, hot savory pastrami topped with melted swiss cheese, and The Mr. Pickle, grilled chicken topped with strips of bacon and slices of buttery avocado. Sandwiches are large and filling, plus they come with a chocolate chip cookie for dessert! If only the wait wasn’t too long (20+min with only a couple people in front of us during lunch), I’d probably be back here for lunch more often. The hot mama pickle is also worth a try!
