I brought home a sandwich from bite a couple of weeks ago. This was the most skimpy sandwich I have ever seen. It tasted ok but there wasn’t much to it. I thought the price was a little high for the quality of the sandwich. I do not think I will be going back to bite anytime soon.

What a cute little place to sit, eat and chat! What I ordered was delicious– grilled cheese with tomato basil soup(meal is called the bite). The grilled cheese was crispy with what I believe was gooey white sharp cheddar cheese and«red onion jam». What a great combination! The soup was also delish and paired well with the grilled cheese. I also ordered a café mocha which had a strong flavor and yet was mildly sweet– just how I like it. My sister was also pleased with her meal– a turkey sandwich on ciabatta and a hot chocolate. According to her, it was the best hot chocolate she’s ever gotten! In conclusion, this place has a great atmosphere, good food, is very clean, has friendly people and great coffee.

Went to Bite for the first time today. The place was pretty busy but found a table/placed order no problem. My server was very friendly and I got my food quickly. Overall a good experience and I will be back next time I’m in town.

What a cute place to stop in for brunch or coffee– we were in town for a work event and needed a small bite to eat to start the day off right, I had a cappuccino and omelette– both were quite nice — when we got there at 9 it wasn’t too busy but by 10 there was no where to sit– the service is nice but it does take a while to get your food– they did though bring the coffee out right away which was great– I would say next time we are in town we’ll stop by again

Good food, but nothing outstanding. Very small portions, and a handful of potato chips. Certainly not worth driving from New Hartford, and finding a parking spot. I am not going back.

LETMESTARTBYPOINTINGOUTTHAT14OFTHE16 « UnilocalIS A SCAMHIDDEN» REVIEWSAREFIVESTARS. THEFACTTHATTHISBIASEDANDCORRUPTSYSTEMRESULTEDINTHISRESTAURANTGETTINGTHREESTARSIS A JOKE. With that said, here’s my five star review that you may never get to see… So excited to have a place like this in Utica! I come into town quite a bit these days thanks to family obligations(and a little bit of business), and I haven’t been all that impressed with the food choices. Once you have had your fill of Riggies, Hats and Greens, there’s little else — culinarily speaking — to put Utica on the map. The Tailor and the Cook is a must-try spot for dinner, Utica Coffee Roasting Company is a highly recommended coffee corner, and now Bite is our go-to spot for a quick breakfast or lunch. Let’s begin with something other than the food. The ambience is lovely. They’ve really done something simple, elegant and special with their space. It’s very comfortable, while not feeling pretentious or overly styled. The owners, Jason and Doug, are awesome people. Friendly and professional. Finally, the food: the soup was outstanding, and the sandwich — doused with the delicious hot sauce they provided — was a triumph. Highly recommend!

The perfect addition to downtown. This is what this area needed. A local café with a comfortable atmosphere and wonderful drinks and food. The iced coffee, scones, cinnamon buns, lobster tails and salads are to die for. Stop by this place for great fresh food at a wonderful price.

Just visiting Utica for work, and looking for something within a mile radius — Bite has easily been the best place thus far. Staff was friendly, the menu looks delicious, and the ambiance in the place is awesome. Very chill and modern. While all the buildings around it kinda look like they’re falling apart, Bite looks all shiny and new.

As I work in the area, a new lunch spot is always a good thing. Not the case, here. There were four of us with only an hour for lunch. We ordered two chicken salad and a tuna salad sandwich, I had requested a grilled cheese with no soup and one girl told the other how to ring it in, as not having soup with a sandwich is unheard of. I also ordered a sandwich to go for my husband, as he was unable to leave work to get lunch. My three friends got there sandwiches and what unappetizing looking food, the plate was large the sandwiches were small and nothing else on the plate. To look at them it looked as if something was missing. The two chicken salad sandwiches had a tablespoon of chicken salad in the middle of the sandwich. My friend who had the tuna salad was the same way. You literally ate lettuce and bread around the entire sandwich and the last two bites actually had chicken/tuna salad. After my friends finished there sandwiches I was still waiting on my grilled cheese. after 45 minutes waiting I went to the counter to see what the issue was with a simple grilled cheese sandwich. I was told they had no ticket for me then after a few more minutes they figured out they had put my sandwich in with my husbands to go order which was sitting on the counter with another take out order. I thought I should check my sandwich to make sure it was indeed mine. In the Styrofoam container was ½ a grilled cheese sandwich, a small ½ and a bag of chips. I was disgusted not only with the portion but the timing as well. A man came out from the back and told me he was the manager and that when my sandwich came across his printer that he thought it seemed strange that someone would order just a ½ grilled cheese sandwich, I had asked for a whole sandwich just hold the soup. so he added a bag of chips, the ½ sandwich was 2“X3 ½″. I was charged $ 7.49 for my sandwich and $ 2.50 for the bottle of soda. I told the gentleman I didn’t want the sandwich and would like my money refunded. I was refunded the $ 7.49 but was still charged for the soda and my husbands sandwich. And went back to work hungry and aggravated. As a previous restaurant manager, this was totally handled wrong. My entire lunch bill should have been refunded and the food should have been given to me. Instead the man told me to ask for him the next time I was in and he would take care of me, as I am not a rude person I did not tell him how I felt, My thought to his offer was, You had your chance to make this right and you dropped the ball and there will not be a return trip for me. My co-workers were less then impressed as well and will not be returning and when we are asked we have let friends and co-workers know how our experience was. Don’t waste your time or money.

I had the Southwest Chicken Wrap from here. I was hoping this place was going to be awesome(because I love all the happenings going on in Downtown Utica) but, I was disappointed. The wrap was cold which I found a bit off putting(I had figured a chicken wrap would be warm) but that wasn’t the worst of it. The chicken was very bland and the guacamole didn’t have much more flavor either. The wrap wasn’t very well made because I had no peppers in one half and only a few in the other half. The kettle chips that came with it, however, were good. I will go back to check out the pastries, but probably not for the food.

This is my second visit to Bite. My first visit was three days after they opened. The barista took forever to make my latte with almond milk. I figured since they just opened I would cut them a break. Eventually they would work out the kinks. Second visit two weeks later, the place is very busy. Seating is limited. That same barista takes forever to make drinks and I waited with my date 25 mins to get our food. The food was very tasty though.
