I just had a Princess Birthday party at Stacey’s for my 7-year-old. The party itself was amazing and the cutest thing I’ve ever seen… but the staff and customer service left much to be desired. The girls doing hair and makeup seemed half asleep with the exception of one, and Stacey herself was not too friendly and seemed frazzled. I spent a good deal of money for that party(grant it, no where near a wedding dress, so maybe that’s why I didn’t really even get a thank you) and as I was paying Stacey was taking phone calls and talking to other customers. I know she’s busy, but seriously. I also got an awkward little speech about tipping, which I did not feel inclined to do given the already steep price tag and lack of good customer service I’d just experienced. In summary, I’d recommend the party, but don’t expect Disney service levels, or even people smiling for that matter. And future business from me or my two daughters is not happening.

We had an appointment to look at Mother of the Bride dresses. When we got there even though there was only 1 other person in the place we had to wait about 10 minutes. Once we got someone to help us he said they don’t carry many MOB dresses in store anymore but he could show us the 6 – 10 they had in the store and we could look at a book. We let him know we wanted nothing that looked old or had a jacket and he said unfortunately since they are in Iowa they are used to having MOB dresses for«country bumpkins». I actually was in shock that he said that. We found one dress maybe for the rehearsal dinner but it was $ 425. We were only there about 30 minutes. Service was definitely lacking as was the selection.

My wedding wouldn’t be as amazing without the help of Stacey’s. My first wedding dress experience was at David’s(biggest mistake ever… enough said) after wanting to elope and never try on another dress again my mom suggested Stacey’s as I had gotten all my prom dresses there and had pretty good experiences with them. So after a quick lunch and some tears I was coaxed into going to Stacey’s. We walked in and were greeted by Michael. Although we didn’t have an appointment he got us right in. One look at me and he knew I needed to be saved. He was absolutely incredible. By dress #2 I said yes to the dress! We are using Stacey’s for all of the bridal party. Bridesmaids dresses and tuxes are coming from them and the experience has been nothing short of perfect. Within the last few months the only bump in the road I’ve had is with alterations. I had my appointment set for a few months but I believe one of the alterations people was no longer in service so they notified me promptly. I’m a stylist and I work nights but they made sure I was able to get in well before my wedding and they made every effort to make it work out easily for me with my job, so in the end it was no big deal. Also I was quite surprised by how affordable my alterations were. I will HIGHLY recommend Stacey’s to anyone I know looking for formal wear!

We have been shopping at Stacey’s for four years now. We are repeat customers because of the service we receive every time and the selection of dresses we have to choose from. We can walk out same day with the chosen dress and that is a big plus when you have traveled an hour and a half to get there. Our shopping trip last month went flawlessly. Our helper Casey Rice was awesome and made my daughter feel beautiful in her dress. We have one more year for prom dress shopping and will be back to Stacey’s next year. Two stars because giving credit for space and building. Actually enjoyed the staff but encountered Stacy herself who was arrogant and rude to my 13 year old daughter and I. My daughter felt humiliated. After buying three very expensive bras and two equally expensive swimsuits(one of which the wire popped out within 15 minutes of being in the pool) have to wonder why we went there to begin with. In this case, choosing local over online was not the best option. That top that broke right away, was $ 105, bottoms were an additional $ 40.

The worst service, poor selection(despite the size of store), and expensive! Needed a good nursing bra and they only had one without wires(a big no no when nursing). Bought it and pre paid for another and 8wks later I still don’t have it. Called twice to rectify only to be told it’s been ordered and then that they don’t have a record of my payment(thank goodness I saved the receipt – not that it matters as they have a no refund policy). Was told on my 3rd phone call that it ‘should’ arrive next week but ive heard that before. I think I’m out $ 65 and I still need another good nursing bra. I should have taken the advice of the women at my breastfeeding group who said to avoid Stacey’s and get fitted/buy at Mercy Hospitals bra shop!

The owner of STACEY’S, is Stacey Fox. She is an energetic, kind hearted woman who has fitted my family with bras for years in her original location and now this new location on Plum Drive. My mother lost both of her breasts to breast cancer 11 years ago and Stacey and her team have helped my Mom with fittings and ordering prostheses(which is more than 1 prosthesis that can be put inside a bra) on many occasions. The new location is like a huge warehouse and I would recommend making an appointment because they get busy. I do agree with the previous post that there could be some cosmetic improvements(that would cost lots of money) to make the environment more inviting but there is a wonderful selection of bras and dresses to choose from and her team will make sure that you are the only one with a specific dress at your school event. Stacey also believes in giving job training to the youth of the community, as well as the less likely to be hired. I recently visited when she was complimenting an employee that appeared to have Down Syndrome. The employee was working to clean all of the childrens toys with rubbing alcohol and was doing a terrific job. Stacey made a point to compliment her in front of a number of customers. I choose to make my purchases here, not only because she has fitted my family for many years but because she is a caring person who has a wide variety of product and has provided great service each and every time.

The service here was good-we were able to come in without an appointment, the sales consultant helped pull dresses and also helped to try them on. The two stars is because the store was not very bridal-ish. It was dark, cluttered, and messy. They didn’t have any chairs around the dressing rooms for family members so they pulled out some folding chairs for us. There was a girl in the back(barefoot) standing in a pile of dresses/accessories/clothes-I think she was hanging them up or something. The other girl who worked there came out wearing a hooded sweatshirt. When I’m about to make a large purchase, I guess I expect a little more professionalism and a lot more organization. It just didn’t feel like a bridal shop and part of the fun of buying a wedding dress is the experience at the bridal shop.
