MAC Garage

This place is closed. To bad because it was an excellent shop! I was just there today and there’s some other business.

Back at the Mac for an oil change on my 2002 Ford Mustang. Martin always takes care of my cars. Absolutely no complaints. They have a great waiting area with free coffee, soda and water. The bonus for me is that I can watch the Velocity channel while I’m here.

We took our truck in to Mac Garage 2 weeks back for an oil change and to check a noise we had begun to hear from our front passenger side wheel. After returning at the specified time, we were told that they couldn’t remove the drain plug because they didn’t have the right tools. This seemed fairly odd for a mechanic shop that advertises oil changes as one of their main services, but we let it slide as they had identified the noise we had been hearing as a ball joint that needed replacing. They gave us a quote and we agreed to return the following weekend to have repairs completed.
The following week we returned right as they opened and left our vehicle. A repair they assured us would take a couple of hours ended up taking all day. When we returned to pick the truck up we were told the truck would need to be aligned (we were told it would be aligned as part of the ball joint installation) and on the paperwork it stated that the work may not fix the noise after all!
The next day, we took the truck in to Mountain View Tire & Auto Service in Upland to get it aligned, and the mechanics said that the previous mechanic (Mac Garage) didn’t install the calipers needed to align the wheels and that it would cost twice as much as the original installation in order to correct the issue.
In the end, despite Mac Garage’s friendliness and low cost, we can’t help but feel that ultimately we didn’t get what we paid for, that we had to pay more elsewhere in order to get the original issue fixed and that the service we received was subpar.

Chill place, the workers are easy to talk to. They work fast for a cheap price! I got a compete oil change with tire rotation for $ 18!

Took both my moms car and my car in to get an oil change this past weekend. The customer service was spectacular, Martin and David really know how to treat their customers with honesty and respect. If you need an oil change or work needs to be done on your car come check this garage out.
