My wife went to Dr. Laksana’s dental for a routine cleaning, X-rays and a follow-up visit for two cavities. Dr. Laksana told her she needed to have crowns replaced and since we had excellent insurance that we should take advantage of our insurance. A few days later, I later spoke with Dr. Laksana about the procedure he wanted to perform on my wife’s teeth and he could not answer my questions with solid answers. I also found that he had poor English speaking skills especially for a doctor with over 35 years in the USA. I made an appointment with a board certified prosthodontist and he examined my wife’s teeth. He said that he could not ethically do the procedure that Dr. Laksana wanted to do as the results would be the same and would look wrong. He told us that my wife needed braces to create space and straighten her teeth before any crowns could be placed in her mouth. He said the braces would create the proper foundation in two years then to see him before the braces are removed and that he and the orthodontists would work together to create a beautiful smile for my wife that will last a lifetime. The prosthodontist also said that my wife’s teeth were not cleaned properly by Dr. Laksana and that she would need an additional cleaning as the Laksana left a lot of calculus on my wife’s teeth. My wife told me that Dr. Laksana was working on three other patients at the same time and not focusing on each patient. Dr.Laksana’s office is not modern, they do not bill electronically nor do they have digital X rays. The dental office and dentist is stuck in the 1950’s. If you plan to have any crowns, bridge work, dental implants see a prosthodontist or a periodontist who are specialists with three years of additional training after dental school. and see

Dr. Laksana is the greatest. I have been going here for years. His staff is wonderful and they really make you feel comfortable. I recommend him to friends and they become patients for life.
