Doc Brown is closed? Say it isn’t so. Sorry to hear they closed. I ate at Doc Brown’s on my trip to Universal in 2012. Planning a trip this year and noticed Doc Brown wasn’t on the dining list. The food was good and was planning on eating on here again.

fried chicken was surprisingly good and I said that not because I was hungry. Chicken Dinner($ 10.49): 3 pcs fried chicken, mash potato, corn and a biscuit. The chicken skin was crispy but not greasy as Church’s and the flavor was light yet flavorful not as salty as KFC. Mash potato was good too, corn and biscuit were meh. You probably have to wait 10 mins to order and another 10 mins to get the food but compare with the Transformer 70 mins wait… It was really no big deal, isn’t?

Doc Brown wasn’t fancy guys. Big heads up if you saw the movie… it should have clued you in. So the chicken here certainly is fancy… for Doc Brown. Fancy chicken comes with fancy grease. Since I had low, low, low expectations. I actually enjoyed it! Ha! My chicken, fries and mash potatoes were tasty! I must have gotten lucky and had great cooks in the back, cuz my chicken was moist and fried just right. NOWTHEPRICE. Most of us know how expensive amusement park food prices are, yet we still eat here and complain, and complain some more. Well I am no exception, it was damn pricey for what you get. Like damn! 3 stars because the price! But the chicken was actually 4 stars for me.

Doc Brown’s Chicken is always my place to eat when I’m at Universal Studios. Hell, I’d even go there for my lunch break when I worked at the Universal NBC tower. Was tricky to get to but would crave for their chicken every now and then. The quality did change after a bit. Meat got a bit drier. But still a fan. I even saw Dr. Torres from Grey’s Anatomy order chicken from them once. Yup, the smell does draw you in. I wish the prices were a bit lower. It’s a plus to have the Universal Employee discount but with the food quality, I think it should be lower. But hey, theme park prices I guess.

I really really want to give them 2 stars, but out of respect for my fellow Unilocalers sadly I cannot. Cost wise I would disagree with others and say it’s an average value for theme park food. 3 piece meal with mashed potatoes, corn, and a biscuit for 10.50 $. Chicken was dry, corn and potatoes were cold. Maybe we just got there at a bad time. who knows but you should always put out your best product. If you really want good chicken at a theme park, save it for Knotts. There are plenty of other dining options at Universal.

I ordered the chicken tender meal. I was very satisfied. The chicken and fries were good. One of the employees overheard me asking where the ranch was when I was at the condiments area. She told me that she could get me some, and she did. Thank you! Good luck finding seating. I came here on a Saturday. Really crowded.

Doc Brown’s Fancy Chicken. Not so fancy. I was very excited to try the«famous» chicken. After all, we are at Universal Studios and they’re claiming it’s fancy, and famous and good. My mistake, just another theme park trying to make a buck on over priced food. The portion was big enough but it was dry, surprisingly dry for fried chicken and the flavor seemed like it had been fried in old oil. Those of you that LOVE fried chicken like I do, you know what I mean, you can just tell when the oil had been kept or used too long. Bleh. I’d rather just bring my lunch to Universal Studios next time.

The chicken was decent, but neither the quality nor the quantity came close to justifying the cost. I mean, it’s theme park food, but that doesn’t make it excusable. It’s a crappy practice. The soda fountains were filthy. The condiments cart was a disorderly mess. Pass on this one.

So… the menu is limited to chicken… everyone should know that in advance. If you don’t want to eat chicken, don’t eat here. If you want to eat chicken… this is a decent place to do that! There are only four menu items: chicken, chicken, salad with chicken, and chicken. The prices are decent, the chicken is tasty. The seating is catch-as-catch-can, but plentiful and constantly being cleaned. The beverages were disappointing: some were watery(as in, VERY watery and undrinkable) and nobody was there to fix the problem.

Can’t expect too much out of amusement park food. The chicken itself wasn’t that flavorful, but it came out piping hot and fresh. The meat was tender and juicy. The bbq sauce helped the lack in flavor — you can also ask for ranch dressing at the counter. Most of the sodas were WATEREDDOWN at the time. Luckily, there were 2 or 3 that weren’t. Please get that fixed, especially since it’s overpriced. The fries that came with the chicken basket were almost cold and soggy. I wish they had an option to buy a bucket of chicken because the other sides aren’t really worth it.

Don’t you love the smell of fried chicken while waiting in line for a ride? Located across from the Simpsons Ride… this is a must go! The whole time while I was in line, I was thinking… are we there yet? Why are you teasing me Doc? I want chicken! Nom Nom Nom! After the ride was over, I bolted over to Doc Brown’s… Get out of my way people! Ordered: *Chicken Dinner($ 10.49): 4 pcs(leg, thigh, breast and wing), side of mash potatoes with gravy, corn and a biscuit. The skin was perfectly crisp and the meat was moist and tender. Delicious! Fyi, the menu shows a 3 pieces meal but we got 4! Score! I’m not complaining! The sides were whatevers… Skip! It’s all about the Chicken, bok bok bok! There’s always a line out the door and I can understand why, the chicken is tasty! Other menu items include: chicken tenders w/fries, grilled chicken salad and doc’s chicken basket w/fries. Order the chicken dinner for the best value! Tip: All you annual passholders, show them your pass for an addtl 10−15% off! Condiments, utensils and napkins are located next to the pickup counter and beside the restaurant. After you’re done, you can head over to Cinnabon and grab yourself a Roll! Enjoy!

Ahhh mannn I should’ve Unilocaled this place prior to going here! I would’ve have been better off at Panda Express. We ordered the chicken strips plate, the chicken dinner plate. The chicken strips were okay however the chicken dinner plate wasn’t that great, the corn and mashed potatoes sucked and just tasted blah, definitely wouldn’t recommend this place and wouldn’t go back!

Not bad for friend chicken. It’s no Popeyes or KFC, but definitely a nice alternative to the usual burger or pizza at theme parks. I ordered the chicken combo(on the menu looks similar to the chicken nuggets but it’s not), it came with fries(decent), two legs and one breast. All fried pretty good so it had a nice crispy texture and the white meat was pretty moist. I’d eat here again, unless I’m in the mood for a Dodger dog!

It was a cold day when we came here so it was nice to eat some fatty deep fried chicken! The little patio area was warmed! And I guess they had some heaters under the table which was nice to sit at. There were 5 of us and we decided to order each one of the combos. My cousin and I went to go look for seats so I don’t remember what’s in each meal, but I thought it wasn’t bad price-wise for amusement park food. Chicken was pretty moist and tasty. Love crispy skin, good stuff. Definitely used canned corn which was just whatever. Mashed potatoes and gravy were also just kind of meh. The salad was actually pretty decent. Grilled chicken had some flavor and the salad had some decent veggies in it. But yeah I just devoured the chicken probably hungry from all the walking. Breast, thighs, drumsticks, everything tastes better when you’re hungry or maybe ’cause I didn’t have very high expectations since it’s just theme park food. Looks like other Unilocalers didn’t like it so much, maybe I was just lucky and got a decently cooked batch of chicken.

This will be sweet and short, a little awkward to because we didn’t get to eat here! Before entering Universal Studios, I checked out their map for places to eat lunch. I saw Doc Brown’s Fancy Chicken ‘The finest chicken of all time’ it says. Doc is the scientist in ‘Back to the Future’ movies with Michael J. Fox, played by Christopher Lloyd. It’s 12:30, Lets go eat! Oh no, their not open! Not even close to being open! no cooks, no cashiers, no lines. I look at the sign posting hours of operation. There are none! Okay, lets move on to Louie’s for pizza!

(See pics) Review #1276. Well, what’s not to love some chicken on a hot day after some fun rides? For 8 bucks(without annual pass), chicken breast with some fries in a basket was pretty good with skin-on was all flavorful and dripping oil. Fortunately it’s all the walking to walk off those calories. And yes, the line was long but there were a few cash registers that the line moved along okay.

This is one of the better places to eat at Universal Studios — can’t go wrong with a plate/basket of either fried chicken, french fries, mashed potatoes, biscuit, corn, and salad. And the prices aren’t extremely ridiculously overpriced like how it is at theme parks too. Combos and Prices: Combo 1: $ 8.99 3 pieces of fried chicken Corn mashed potatoes biscuit Combo 2: $ 7.99 chicken tenders french fries Combo 3: $ 7.99 grilled chicken salad Combo 4: $ 7.69 2 pieces of fried chicken french fries

were given a food unlimited pass bracelet for universal free, this is a participating restaurant. Line was long around 1pm, by 4pm was empty. Ordered big doc brown meal(3 pieces chicken) and pie. Chicken was greasy(as expected) but tasted freshly cooked, potatoes, corn etc was standard issue cafeteria fare. Would have cost $ 12 without beverage. Not bad for theme park food. My husband said it was ‘better than KFC’ but I haven’t had KFC in at least 15 years so I have no comparison. He ate the whole apple pie himself, so I can’t say much about it… but he liked it enough to refuse to share.

If you love to eat and don’t wanna spend an arm and a leg for your meals, the one thing that we’ve discovered at Universal Studios Hollywood was to get a hold of one of these bottomless wristbands . Even though it’s limited to a handful of participating restaurants it’s definitely worth the savings! This place was on the list and they offered several combo dishes. Overall, Doc’s Fried Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and a biscuit was alright. I’d say it’s a pretty decent and filling fried chicken meal that will leave you satisfied. Good to know there’s still fried chicken when I go back to the future…

It may not be good theme park food but if your inside the park with your family or if your with your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend whoever, this place beats out the typical Panda Express’s or Pizza hut’s inside the park. But there are other choices in Universal to eat that are themed flavors like Mel’s Diner and Louie’s Pizza it really depends what are you in the mood for. If you want something with a little bit more gourmet on your entrée I prefer dining at the City Walk that has some chained resto’s. Now Doc’s fried chicken, it’s not elegant, it’s not classy, it’s just pure fried chicken! But the good thing is that it’s crunchy, a tad salty/seasoned that makes this fried chicken tasty not plain. I never add ketchup’s or BBQ sauces on fried chicken but for some reason when i’m at Doc’s I tend to add them because it compliments it. You also get some sides with that typically a biscuit, corn and gravy mash potato and also you have a choice of french fries. There is a value meal for three pieces of chicken and sides for $ 7.99 if you have an annual pass your eligible for a 10% discount on your meal. I must admit I do eat at Doc’s for their fried chicken on every visit in Universal Studios, I mean what can a fried chicken enthusiast to do? This place may not get any more stars than that, but to me the fried chicken speaks some volumes, as long as they keep it tasty and crunchy, but hey if your watching your cholesterol just beware. If your in for some fried chicken this is it, just ignore the chicken tenders their not great and everything else on there menu is blah, bleh. This place won’t take you Back to the Future but It’s an A-OK just look at all of Doc Brown’s pictures on the wall and see his faces with his fried chicken, you will have that grin on your face after your experience, I did…
