Had some really bad experiences here. My wife had 4 implants done and then had 2 more scheduled. The DDS was DR. Awada and the office manager was Alissa Mashman. The first implants work appears adequate. But the office administration was deplorable. First they had her take off work for an appointment to have work done, then after she waited 1.5 hours they told her they couldn't do the work because the equipment they needed had not arrived. When confronted as to why they didn't tell her that up front they had all kind of excuses. Eventually we met with Dr. Awada and he said they didn't notify us that the equipment hadn't arrived because they thought it might still come that day on the second UPS delivery. Dr. Awada said that this type of thing was SOP for them. They got mad because I raised a stink since two professionals took time off from work for an appointment that couldn't take place without the equipment and they kept us waiting only to say "sorry, go home, see you later". Eventually the first implants were done then came the nightmare for the second two. First appointment was set for five weeks out in March. Then Clear Choice cancelled that appointment and said it couldn't be done until May, 7 weeks later. No reasonable reason, just "Doctor's not available" So a twelve week wait for implants. Finally the appointment date comes and they call the day before and change the time from 9 AM to 8:30. So we told them we'd try to get there earlier than 9 but it is rush hour and we don't know the traffic situation. So we got there at 9 on the dot and they made my wife wait. At 11:30 she still was waiting. Of course I had to complain. They just did the same thing, "Sorry, just keep waiting". Now we took off work again for this. We spoke to them twice on the phone about our expected arrival time. No one said if you are not here at 8:30 sharp you will have to wait a few hours to start the procedure. Finally after she waited 2.5 hours they said they didn't want her as a patient because I had complained again. Now this outfit gets paid up front from a third party lender, Lending Tree. So they offered a refund which we are trying to get. Anyway, The dental work may be passable but the administrative patient abuse is just too much. I suspect they pack the schedule tight and stretch out the procedure dates based on the way they finance things with the lender, collecting up front before doing the work. Now I don't know that for a fact but I've seen this type of thing in business before. But the patients pay the price through lengthy delays for appointments and lengthy office visits. If you need implants get them done by professionals. Clear Choice Tysons Corner is not one of them. We made the mistake of looking for a lower price and we paid the price big time!
SPOILER ALERT : This is NOT a 1-day process. This is a 9+ month process.
First, I would recommend that you ask many questions. Once you get past the sales (I mean "consult") rep at your initial appointment, take the time to talk to the doctors and get a comprehensive explanation of the procedure, timeline, etc.. The consult Reps really don't have that much information other general info and helping you identify how to pay for the procedure. Make sure that if you schedule an appointment, that you are able to speak at the same time to the surgical staff. Otherwise, they schedule a separate appointment for a different day. (VERY FRUSTRATING)
While it is true to have "Teeth in a Day," what is not told to you in the initial advertising is that those "teeth in a day" are ONLY a surgical set and are temporary. In total, you will be fitted with 3 sets of implants over the 9 or so months. The three stages are as follows: 1) Surgical (to allow time for the implant posts to heal (3-4 Months), 2) Temporary Set (Dry run of what the finished product may be), then the 3) final set with all the adjustments, look and feel. Again, this is surgery and it should be noted and plan as such. You WILL most likely be out of commission for at least a few days following the initial procedure.
Now, with my permanent prosthetics in place and the process behind me, I wanted to wait a few months to write this review to be completely objective. It is a bit unique to get used to them, but I cannot convey enough how delighted I am with the results. The surgeons and team at the Tysons location were masterful and meticulous. Frankly, the entire team is passionate about what they do, and it shows. Each are artisans working in a well-choreographed plan to create a beautiful smile and function of the implants. You are unique, and they customize each procedure to your individual needs and designed to fit and function as close to a natural state as possible. I would even go so far as to say, my smile now is the best it has ever been.
There are so many people to thank, and I cannot name them all in this review; however, I can address them as the Tyson’s Team. One final note: COSTS: You should budget approximately 35-60K for your procedure depending on the the complexity, materials, etc..to be used.
I hope this helps the readers out there to make an informed decision.
