1 star for customer service. A friend and I visited this location today and were treated terribly. We had waited 15 minutes for our food when we started to notice that every customer being served had come in after us. We asked an employee if our food would be out soon and were coldly informed that it usually takes 10 – 15 minutes. That’s fine, I can wait a few more minutes. After 25 minutes we asked again and received angry answers saying that it usually takes 10 – 15 minutes. Clearly, it does not. I finally received my food after 30 minutes and checked my order to discover that my extra yogurt sauce was not in the bag. I mentioned it to the employee and asked for my sauce and he so very helpfully placed it on the counter directly in front of him and out of my reach before turning to another customer and ignoring me. Seems like this place needs some training in customer service and also how to handle a lunch rush.

Moby Dick is probably my favorite lunch spot. I really like the new look and feel of this location too. Plus the staff is friendly which is always a plus! Can’t go wrong here for a quick, healthy lunch or dinner

Wow. I ate here last night and ordered the lamb kabob. so succulent and tender. The meat melted in my mouth ! Also very affordable for the quality. Their soda machine is pretty neat as well because you can add flavor bursts to your water or soda.

My friend and I went there, he got his food, I didn’t. I go inside to check and the guy gives my sandwich to someone else right In front of me and says that’s not my order. I keep waiting for mine. Then the customer hears me asking for my sandwich and brings it over cause he didn’t even order it. So the sandwich had been sitting there for 10 minutes now. I ask for a fresh sandwich, I wait for another 10 minutes. They bring me back the same sandwich which is cold by now. Can’t sit and argue, have to get back to work. Miss my lunch and paid for a 20 minute old sandwich.

This company has continued to grow over the years and I’m very impressed with what they have become! Food is still excellent and customer service is their biggest suit. Can still remember the awesome memories of going to the one in fair oaks as a kid with my family. Try out the kubideh kabob! You won’t be disappointed!

Been here a bunch of times, since I’m in the area on occasion for events /to visit friends. Moby Dick is what can best be described as ‘fast casual middle eastern food’. Typical fare here includes kebabs of various sorts, falafel, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, etc. Being a huge fan of all things kebab, I typically went for either the lamb or beef varities — both of which were delicious and well priced, given the fact that you’re dining in the middle of the DC Metro area. The platters were packed with a good amount of salad and rice(you can get either, or both), and the rice was honestly pretty damned fantastic. If you’re in the area and need a great place for some quick Mediterranean /middle eastern food, you really can’t go wrong with Moby Dick.

When we walked in Fahad took really good care of us! He was very prompt and brought us a full size bread to our table! We really enjoyed our dinner because of him! Thank you :)

What a great experience my family and I had at this location. I just finished a competition and was there for the weekend and decided to try them out. Customer service was great, food was delicious, place was clean. I would definitely go back if I’m in the area again. To the gentleman that helped us with our order(might have been the owner)…THANKYOU for the great experience

Great sandwiches. Beef gyro and falafel were both delicious as was the mildly spicy cilantro based green sauce that accompanied it. Would certainly return. Friendly staff too.

Went to this place on a Thursday night for takeout. We got the Moby Super combo(Lamb and Chicken kebab) and a Chicken kebab with rice. TIP: if you get takeout and do not want your bread to be all wet and mushy, MAKESURETOORDERTOMATOONTHESIDE! or say no tomato! They put this tomato on the bread and the meat inside and wrap it in a box… the tomato made my bread really soggy, I think they should pack the bread separately for takeout orders… But good food, the chicken was my favorite. It tasted VERY well marinated and spiced. I would go back there just for their chicken kebab. The lamb kebab was, mehh. I thought the lamb was a little too tough and chewy for my liking. The cucumber yogurt sauce they give you is really good. I have had it a few times when it was watery but i think they got the recipe down now… I liked the bread with the sauce a lot. The whole meal came to about $ 26 and we had leftover kebab(about 4 pieces, and an extra piece of bread(we ordered one extra). So it fed 2 people and had enough for one person to eat lunch the next day. It is an average price i think for kebabs. I like the location of this place as well. I hop off the spring hill metro and can grab takeout on my way home. MYTAKE: Check it out, the chicken is what i would really recommend. Place is clean, staff friendly, good food. What more could you want?

Another fast food kabob place but it’s always yummy! You can park indoor or outdoor. Service was efficient. It can get pretty crowded around lunch time.

Definitely a fan. Thanks to daily stipends compliments of work, decided to try out Moby Dick. Hummus: standard, can’t really complain. did the job. comes with half a pita bread(which is made right in front for your viewing pleasure while you wait for your meal) Kabob-E Joojeh(Skinless chunks of boneless chicken breast) seasoned in their house marinade. Chicken was not dry. Emphasis on chunks for kabob meat. As a meat lover, the portions are perfect for the price you’re paying. Seasoned just right so as to not being overpowered, and the chicken was not dry. A + in my books. The rice a little on the drier side(opted for ½ salad ½ rice) Kabob-E Chenjeh(Tenderloin steak) seasoned in their house marinade. Juicy steak cooked the way I like it. Juicy, tender, and not dry. A little less seasoning, maybe, or my palate was just overwhelmed from the chicken kabob. Same portion, but like most establishment, the beef is slightly more expensive($ 11.49 compared to the Joojeh which was $ 10.49?) If you can find parking in front of the establishment(next to Wal-Mart and Smashburger), it’s free, but if you can there’s a small street that has some spots for a quick walk. Great, friendly service.

It was not my best experience at this particular MD. For some reason, my carryout order got skipped and I waited a ridiculous amount of time, longer than 15 people who placed an order after mine just receive a simple chicken kabob salad. The cashier checked on it but was totally unapologetic(while others wished me ‘good luck’ as they got theirs) and I was so close to just canceling the order. That being said, the salad and chicken were great. Sauce was great. Bread was small and rather cardboard like. Next time, I’d be more inclined to go with Shamshiry.

I really really like Moby Dick’s. The locations in DC are often crowded and don’t give great portion sizes, but this one is usually more open and gives a great amount of food. It’s also nice because you’re served with plates and silverware rather than the plasticware they use at other locations. PROTIP: The street parking is free, the parking lot charges, and if either is full or you don’t want to lay, you can park on be street by the Sheraton.

It’s been more than a year since my prior review. I’ve checked in 44 times to this location so I can attest to its consistent quality in food and service. They recognize me here usually now and have never failed to provide excellent service, even remembering my usual order of joojeh and rice most of the time. I highly recommend this location over the other kabob places in town. All the meats are prepared fresh and taste moist and delicious(yes, even the chicken breast!).

Takes A LOT to impress me. I’ve been on the Food Network. So, I know food. I go here at least two times a week. Quality is A+. Jorge, Manager is polite and he makes sure this restaurant is spotless. The quality of the food is A++. They have specials too that aren’t on the menu. Ask about them. Big shout out to Jennifer who is super polite too. She takes care of customers with excellent service. Dine here for a great lunch or dinner and a fair price. See you there!

Stopped by for a late lunch and ordered the chicken and ground beef kabob combo, half rice and half salad. For the price, you get a decent amount of meat and food. It also comes with pita bread for free. Overall, it is a good place for Persian food but not the best. The highlight of this meal is the bread and chicken. The bread is fresh made in the house, came out warm with tzatziki sauce. Bread is very soft and fresh. However, when it becomes cold, it hardens quickly. So make sure to eat it when it is warm. The chicken kabob is very moist and juicy, tender and flavorful, better than shamshiry in my opinion. Most chicken kabob tends to be dry. If you like chicken, this place offers better quality. However, the ground beef lacks some flavor. The best ground beef kabob is shamshiry for sure. My friend got the lamb and ground beef combo. He likes it too. Food is 3.5 star, staff is also very friendly.

During a recent business trip to the area our team worked through lunch all week and were getting tired of the usual sandwich options and decided to give Moby Dick House of Kabob a try. However we were rather shocked to find out that despite offering delivery, they do not start until 3pm. This made one of us have to make a run to get the food instead of having the convenience of having it delivered. The food itself was reasonably priced with large portions, however the foot itself was really lacking of any flavor. I ordered Moby’s Combo I, which was a combination of one Kubideh and one Chengeh.(Ground Sirloin & Beef Tenderloin). Overall the meat was rather bland without much flavor. The sauce was good, however it really wasn’t anything memorable. I have had meals at other Kabob houses and if anything this was just an average meal, nothing was wrong with the food it just wasn’t enough to make me want to come back. The feeling was mutual with the rest of the team.

It’s the best Moby’s in the area! The service, food, and space are a step above the other locations. Maybe it’s because it’s newer? I always get the joojeh(chicken breast) and it’s consistently juicey. The bread(like all Mobys) could use a little work. It comes out kind of sad and limp. Really plain tasting. But, I can’t stop eating their rice. I usually don’t care about service, but one of the managers(?) here is always super friendly. I’ve come in here multiple times with living social deals and I’m treated all the same. And btw, those deals are totally worth it here. There aren’t any restrictions. This place is just all around solid.
