Great menu, good food, cool location to watch the planes. Great root beer in a frosty mug.

Great food, great service and great people. We had a Reuben and a chicken salad sandwich and really enjoyed them both. The Reuben was decadent with copious amounts of cheese. I felt like I was eating at a family members place. Will definitely go back.

This is a cool location– historic airport museum. Locals eating Sunday dinner. Owner and waitresses went above and beyond. Substantial Meal for $ 8! Steak and potatoes and green beans with sweet tea. Reuben was exceptionally good. Quiet, so able to converse.

A real gem of a restaurant. If you are from Tyler or passing through, you won’t regret eating a meal here. The quality of the food, the friendly and efficient service, and the rarity of getting both, in this day and age of eating out, is so wonderfully refreshing. The menu is remarkably extensive for a place this size, with full blown comfort food, vegan selections, and even gluten free items to choose from. Watching plates come out of the kitchen to the other tables in there was like viewing a mouth watering parade of culinary perfection. The Skyline Café is somewhat off the beaten path, but not hard to find by any means. It’s a real sleeper of a restaurant, meaning there are people who live in Tyler who dream of having a café like this to eat at, but just don’t know it’s there. If you like good food, do yourself a favor and head on over there. You won’t regret it.

Airport restaurant and a good one. Friendly staff. Menu has a nice variety of options without being too big. Food is obviously fresh. I had the Southwest Chicken Salad which was a summer time special according the insert in the menu and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If I’m back in the area, I’d like to try some of the other items on the menu like the Rueben which they claim to be famous for or the Big Fat Greek Salad which sounded pretty good too. Pick a window seat and watch the air traffic come and go. While I was there, two Chinnoock helicopter land just outside(window was vibrating so crazy I thought it might break). Pretty cool! Also of note, they are next door to a aviation museum that is well worth the paltry admission.

Best Reuben sandwich in East Texas. This family-operated café is situated next to «HAMM». Take a tour & see the historic aircraft and history behind military aviation. Check out the black bean burger wrap, Greek salad, the hamburger & hot dogs. Tuna melts are also dee-lish. You might meet medics and other military folks who stop in for a bite to eat. Oh, the desserts are all home made and quite tasty. It is not 3.8 miles away from the Tyler Pounds Regional Airport: it’s close by(less than a mile) at the Executive Airport. There is an expansion of the airport to handle larger aircraft. Beware of construction. Also, it’s not closed on all Sundays. Thank you, Larry & Becky for such a great dining experience every single time.

Skyline Café has a large selection of vegetarian food. Black bean burger, black bean burger wrap, veggie rueben, greek wrap, veggie wrap, grilled cheese, the naked Greek and the organic house salad. My favorite is the black bean burger wrap!

Skyline is hidden away in the old terminal at Pounds Field. You can’t get there from the new terminal unless you drive. It’s right under the control tower, and they share space with the HAAM museum. I have only been here for lunch. They offer a daily special that comes with a drink and side for around $ 7. The food is pretty much burger-fare, but it’s good, and the staff is friendly. Sometimes it can be a bit crowed at lunchtime.

Tyler, Texas, is not exactly at the forefront of organic or healthy eating, but places like the new FRESH by Brookshire’s and the Skyline Café are doing their best to change that. We found Skyline on Unilocal, looking for healthy and vegetarian options during our visit to the great state of BBQ brisket.

Family cooking at its BEST! Loved this hamburger. Great juicy(in a good way) masterpiece with sweet potato fries. Very cool location & a really neat historical museum as a diversion. Cool surprise in Tyler. Don’t miss it.
