I have known Dr. Rick Coker and his wife for at least 17 years. I ran into a emergency dilemma with my lower permanent retainer I had from having braces about 28 years ago. The left side came unglued and was springing up and poking me. Very painful! I guess 28 years of the glue holding was a good long time, but time was up! I called my regular dentist and they could not help me, instead referred me to an orthodontist. I went there, and upon leaving I could tell what they did was not going to last, as it felt very thin for some reason. I was right, the very next morning, the retainer sprang loose again and I was in the same boat. I called Dr. Coker’s office and spoke to Mary, who had me come in right away. I should have called Dr. Coker in the first place. I went in, and his assistant thoroughly applied the best adhesive ever and got my retainer back in place. I imagine it will hold another 28 years or better! I would highly recommend Dr. Coker’s Smile Studio for any and all tooth situations and especially emergencies with your adhesive glue! They are a wonderful group and do terrific work. I will definitely go back again and again. Highly recommend! Kim Harden

I have known Dr. Rick Coker since 2006 as we both participate on an online dental professional forum of which Dr. Coker is a frequent contributor and mentor to many dentists around the world. His insights on varyings topics are held in the highest regard. He has an undeniable passion for dentistry and freely shares from his wealth of knowledge and experience. I know Dr. Coker to be not only a skilled clinician but a warm and sincere individual. If any of my own family or patients were traveling through or moving to Tyler, TX, I would be happy to refer them to him, confident that they would be in the most capable of hands. I’ve been going to my Dad for my dental needs my whole life, that is until I moved out of Texas for a job in Washington DC, and now San Francisco. I brag all the time about my experiences at The Smile Studio, and I don’t think it has anything to do with me being the Dentists’ son. My dad is a normal dad at home. Yes, he tells me to brush my teeth, and not to eat sugary foods, but what kid really listens to that kind of advice? So, as you can imagine, I need a lot of dental work. First off, I am always impressed that everyone is so kind and friendly and they go out of their way to make me feel right at home. Would I care for a soft drink or something to eat from the kitchen?, they would ask. I would often think that it was some sort of trick, since I was at the dentist to get my teeth cleaned and repaired. But let me assure you it isn’t a trick. They want you to be comfortable and relaxed for your treatment, and if that means filling your belly with cookies and a soda, then it does the trick. When it is time to get my teeth repaired, I’m always offered my own personal Ipod or CD player to choose from. They have a wide variety of music to choose from, and I typically like to hear some Enya, Mazzy Star, or The Doors, as I know that’ll be put me at ease. Next, when I get into the chair, I’m offered Hot Wax gloves(I thought this was kind of girlie when I first heard about it, but trust me, you want this) They put your hands into warm wax gloves, then slide an over mutt over it to trap in the warmth. Awesome. Then they typically put me on «Laughing Gas» which when coupled with the relaxing music, and the warm wax gloves, puts me nearly asleep. I’ve never had any dentist office make me feel so comfortable. I highly recommend that you check out The Smile Studio for your dental needs.
