Walked in for lunch around 1:00 Friday sat in bar area for ten minutes. Not one single person acknowledged us. That’s to long so we left and will never be back.

I came here for the Mother’s Day brunch! The food and atmosphere was very nice and they had a good variety of things to choose from today. I will be back.

I have come here numerous times. I really enjoy the food. The service is hit or miss. This is my second time sitting 15 minutes or more without being acknowledged.

The award for«Best Restaurant that Transports You to Austin» definitely goes to Juls! Although I came here for lunch a few weeks ago, it’s definitely more of a night spot. From the cozy wraparound booths to the trippy lighting in the bathrooms, you can tell things definitely crank up here when the sun goes down. The food that we had for lunch was excellent! Two of us had the sandwich and soup combo, and one person had the burger… Service was prompt, friendly, and we even got to sit by the little pond! I highly recommend Juls for anyone who’s looking for a trendy place to grab a drink or some grub!

The sushi I had was not that great, but great environment and fun place to dine with friends on the weekends.

Oh my fellow Unilocalers, how I love thee… I ended up at this horrible place because my sis in law(who doesnt Unilocal) loved it the 2 times she went a few years ago. If only we had checked the reviews ahead of time. What every one says is very true. In short, this is the WORST place I have ever been in my life and the first time in my life to leave a ZERO tip. Yep, it was that bad. We arrived at 1930 and I was very surprised there was no wait for a table. That should have been my first red flag. The(worst) waitress greeted us right away and got our drink order and our appetizer order. Imagine our suprise when 35 minutes went by and still no drinks. As she walked by to other tables, I waved her down and asked for the drinks and she said she wasnt sure what was taking so long at the bar. Another 10 minutes went by and she brought 2 of 3 drinks. She said she would ask about the other.(we were drinking wine, not anything complicated) another 10 minutes and she brought the other drink and the appetizer. The appetizer was a cheese dip of sorts that had obviously been sitting there for a long long time because it was very hard and un-dippable. We couldnt eat it. I decided to send it back but, she never ever came back. After another 55 minutes(yes, Im serious about these wait times) a different waiter brought 2 of our 3 meals. We asked where the 3rd one was and he said he would check. Being polite, well mannered people, the two with meals postponed eating their hot meal assuming the 3rd would be delivered momentarily. After 30 minutes, the MANAGER brought the 3rd meal and said that it had been sitting there all along and no one brought it out. I told him how horrible the wait times had been and now their food was cold and he agreed to comp one of the meals. NOAPOLOGY was given at any time. Never once was I told«Sorry»… and usually that iis all I would have needed… but no… so finally when the bill came,(with the meal NOT comped) I paid and left a zero tip.(I really didnt want to sit there another 45 minutes while they fixed the bill) By now it was 1045… Thats THREEHOURS for dinner. Thank god the company I had was so fun or it could have gotten ugly. Save yourself, its too late for me.

My friend and I were very excited to try this restaurant because the menu sounded delicious. However, it was my mistake not looking at the reviews first and we will not be back. The sushi I ordered came out room temperature(not very safe for consuming raw fish). My friend ordered a spicy plate and it came out sweet and sour. In addition to that, it had bones in the meat. We asked to see the manager, but the manager didn’t come out. He took the food off our bill that we didn’t like, but wouldn’t come speak/see us. The only redeeming quality about this place was our server, Tyler. Very kind and understanding gentleman. This place is way too overpriced for the quality of food. I don’t recommend coming here at all.

We have always had good meals here except for the chicken and waffles. I may have to give it another try sometime but it was not as good as Breadwinners. The outdoor patio is perfect for a nice afternoon or evening meal. The service can be spotty at times but everyone can have an off day. The wife loves Oaxacan chicken and I usually get salmon or sushi. The kids love potstickers.

The place is poorly run! Always has issues with service or food. Great people but not a professional run establishment!

As the ETSO ran a bit late last night, I called in an order knowing the kitchen closed at 10. Emily was most helpful. When we arrived they could not decide which of 3 servers would be taking care of us. While we waited on our booth to be cleaned, a waitress took our drink order. Our food came out shortly. We ate very slowly waiting for our drinks. The waiter came by half way into our meal to confirm what we ordered from the bar. He came by twice more to let us know our drinks would be right out. The last time, we had finished our meal. After 10 more minutes, I got his attention and told him we no longer needed our drinks and asked for our check. Almost 10 more minutes later, Michael brings our check with the $ 20 bar tab added and immediately and quickly walks away. I get up and tell the waitress that seated us the problem and that I needed a correct ticket when I get to the front door. I have been ordering drinks for over 40 years from some of the finest restaurants and the sleaziest dives in the US and abroad and I have never waited over 30 minutes for a beer or cocktail. This was not busy dinner time. There were only 4 tables seated in the dining room other than us and all parties of 2. The food is always good there. The service is always unacceptable. Tonight was only the 3rd time in my life to not leave a tip. Save yourself a frustration and support any other of Tyler’s fine restaurants. When pay for an above average priced meal, you should receive a comparable level of service. We will not be back. I would leave a zero star review if possible.

Slower than molasses. Been here twice now, once during a lunchtime and once during the evening. My favorite part of this restaurant is only one thing: the actual menus. They are well presented. Last visit there were plenty of open tables by the window with water view. Sadly we were informed that these were ‘reserved’. Got plonked on a tiny table next to the kitchen door. This visit mirrored the last, painfully slow service, plenty of staff busy walking around but trying to get the check and cash out was a laborious affair. Food was ok, overpriced but a little bland. Won’t return, there are other options in south Tyler more worthy.

My wife and I came here to celebrate her birthday last week. After being seated we waited 20 minutes and no one had even acknowledged we were there. So we left. And won’t be back. ***I would think an owner would get wind of how bad the reviews are on this place and maybe do something about it. There are lots of options in Tyler for restaurants. Why settle for this crap?

Over an hour and a half for some food made in a wok. The servers here are clueless. Our server actually asked me if i was ready for the check before I ever got my food, you would think for the price you would actually have people that wanted a job. I changed my review to a 2 star because the manager did a very good job of stepping up to ensure we would give this place another shot. Maybe then I can move my review up more. Once we got our food it was good, but I just cannot overlook absentee service

I really *want* to love this local business, but it seems they are incapable of putting out a good, consistent product. Let me highlight many disappointing meals into a few paragraphs. The dragon burger came highly recommended by my server. They even showcase the burger with a big picture on the menu. After getting burned so many times on entrees I took the server up on his suggestion. I even upgraded to «grass fed» for the additional 3 bucks. I stressed the importance of not disrespecting this«grass fed» beef by cooking the living shit out of it. The server assured me the kitchen would not burn the meat. What I ended up with was a legit hockey puck of a burger. One bite and I pushed it aside. The waiter apologized and asked me if I wanted to try something else. Nope, was my reply.(I had already been held prisoner for over an hour by the general slowness and I wanted my parole.) The manager came by. I explained and showed him my «grass fed» hockey puck. He told me not to worry about it, but«he would take care of it.» Apparently taking care of it meant knocking 2 bucks off my check. So 13 bucks for a kick in the balls. Having had excellent experiences at Three Z Asian Fusion(owned by a former Julians partner), I thought it would be fair to offer up a head to head challenge and let the food decide. I ordered Kung Pao beef and the Spicy Chicken at both joints, letting 48 hours pass between the two experiences. Both the Juls entrees were served swimming in sauce. The beef so much it was more akin to soup. Who checks these entrees before the reach the table? For about $ 15 per entrée it was NOT worth it. Yes the place is new, clean, and shiny. And yes the patio is very impressive. If that’s what defines your dining experience, then this is your place. If you are looking for a gastro-pub experience then I suggest you try elsewhere.

Wow!!! Awesome meal here!!! Great Service!(GO Wesley!!!) The Texas Beer flight was an excellent suggestion and the chicken and waffles were amazing. The rotisserie chicken was nice, the sauce was worth ordering the dish!!! Wesley, my new friend, was one of the best parts of the meal. His suggestions were spot on and he made our meal more enjoyable!!! You can’t go wrong with the beer flight, the«wonderful» Margarita or Wesley as your waiter! We will be back and will bring friends!

This is my favorite restaurant in East Texas, it’s hard to describe their cuisine since they serve everything from hamburgers to sushi and everything I have tasted there is top notch. Last night we had the pretzels as an appetizer which were to die for. For our main dishes we had the Mongolian Beef with fried rice and the Asian BBQ Pork Enchiladas. Both dishes were incredible. Add to all of this an amazing atmosphere, live music, outdoor seating and a small lake in the back and you have a truly unique dining experience that you don’t want to miss. It’s a perfect spot for a romantic date.

I’m new to the area and heard Juls had *local* grass fed burgers, so I had to check it out. It was late afternoon for my first visit, the restaurant was not real busy, and the service was friendly and accommodating from start to finish. They have two different burgers on their menu(grass fed option: $ 3 upcharge) but I opted for the«Juls Classic» which comes with choice of either fries, side salad, or fruit cup. The burger had shredded lettuce lettuce, tomato, red onion, bread & butter pickles(different but good), melted cheddar cheese, and their in-house made mayo, all on a toasted brioche bun. The only way I can eat ground beef is very well done and I have to say that it was perfect with LOTS of charbroiled flavor AND it was still juicy — for grilled well done, now THAT is some good beef!(My comparison standard is a Hearst Ranch burger when I lived in California so I know really fresh *local* beef.) Sad to say though, I was NOT a fan of their french fries. While they are freshly cut and have good flavor, they were meh, kinda limp — which can happen with fresh cut potatoes if the oil is not hot enough — and personally, if I’m going to invest the calories in something fried(which is *very* rare for me), those fries gotta be crispy! When my server asked«How is everything?» I let her know about the fries, and the reply was simply«…that’s just how they’re cooked». I didn’t send them back even though I only ate a few, but she did say at the end of the meal that next time to be sure and ask for fries extra crispy and they will make that happen. I also had a glass of their House Red wine(an Italian Merlot/Syrah blend), and since it was Happy Hour only $ 4… I have to say, that it went great with the burger and was the best glass of red I’ve ever had for that *price*! All in all, I’d revisit Juls for another burger, for sure… but next time, it’s gonna be a side of onion rings for that crispy fix!

Juls Café: I’ve been to Juls Café 3 times over the span of about 3 weeks, always to attempt to purchase a smoothie. After all, it is a «smoothie bar.» The first two times, they were out of bananas. Fact: 90% of their smoothies have bananas(this is not an actual fact). Actual fact: Bananas cost 20-cents each at the grocery 1 block away. Actual fact: Their smoothies are $ 6+. The third time, they were out of peanut butter, an ingredient in the smoothie I tried to order. I’d give them a few months, let them get their act together, then give them a shot. Maybe bring your own bananas.

This is a great looking place that needs some attention to detail. I ordered the chicken and waffles which arrived warm and soggy. The wine service was bizarre. The waitress brought out the bottle that I ordered, opened it, then poured every one at the table a «taste», Then she asked my 70 year old mom if we were good to go. C’mon Juls. Basic 101

Very trendy place. Great atmosphere. Good date place. The food was really good. Around $ 15 or so for dinner plate. I got the teriyaki beef. It was good except they put too much sauce in the plate! Definitely would recommend this place to others.
