Delicious food. I enjoyed lunch at Citrus Café during work and having breakfast when my out-of-state family was in town. On a recent visit, my Dad and his wife even requested Citrus Café because they enjoyed it the previous time! Keep up the good work.

We just love the Citrus Café! 1. The Eggs Benedict are the best. they make they own sauce daily(not bought) 2. The Belgian Waffle is amazing. crisp on the outside and super soft. so good. 3. Best every French Dip! unlike most French Dip’s where is mostly bread and thin slices of processed meat. this is done with a light crispy bread and super thick super tender roast beef!

Turned in my lease and dined breakfast at Citrus Café. This was pretty empty when we went on Saturday morning, but it is in a less busy area of town. The service was great and the person pouring the coffee barely let us have a chance to take sips in between before asking to fill it up again. Fantastic service, but unfortunately the coffee wasn’t super great… So for $ 3.50USD I only had that small 6oz cup. Ah well. The veggie omelette was delightful. It wasn’t the best omelette I’ve ever eaten but definitely suitable to satiate one’s appetite. The fresh fruit was a welcomed option, since a lot of restaurants don’t offer it. Other than that the sourdough was pretty standard and we felt well taken care of at this little café. We might come back if we were in town but unlikely to stop by if it’s out of the way.

Oh my gosh! Just had Memorial Day brunch here with my mom and it was insanely good! Homemade everything, and let me tell you the hash browns are better than you’ll get anywhere else. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside… yum! Special shout out to Eloy, who provided top notch service! He’s a great ambassador for the restaurant. PS Took home a snickers pie, and this pie is AMAZING! Had to edit the review to mention it. Eloy, you were right.

It was a normal American restaurant. I ordered mushroom penne pasta with chicken. The portion was actually huge, but it was not really tasty for me. I did not try their salads or sandwiches which most of other customers were having. I might come back to try those, but not for pasta again. The server was nice and the restaurant was neat.

I was hungry and near this place, so I pulled in. First thing I see walking in is a sign for Steak and Eggs for $ 9.89. SOLD, MOTHERFUCKER! Complete order was coffee, steak, eggs, home fries, & sourdough toast. The coffee was okay. I’m awake now, so it did its job. The eggs were cooked correctly, over easy. The toast was a disappointment, not one hint of sourdough flavor. Potatoes were pretty good, and the caramelized onions were a welcome addition. The steak was amazing, cooked to medium rare. It is actually quite a challenge to find a place that can actually get medium rare correct. Lastly, the service was outstanding! My coffee and water were being refilled consistently and somebody dropped off extra napkins, all without any prompting. Overall, I felt it was a pretty good value for the money, although I’m still pretty disappointed with the toast.

It has been a while since I last came here. We came just after 1 so the lunch rush was over. The service was great and the food was fresh and hot when it arrived. I had the French dip. It was different from a typical French dip, instead of sliced roast beef it appeared to be beef brisket. You would think it wouldn’t work but it was good. The last time I came I wasn’t overly impressed, but things were great this time. I see the key is to come early or after the lunch rush. Based on my previous experiences I can’t give 5 stars but 4 is definitely appropriate. I’ll definitely be back.

Very disappointing, the eggs were warm, the ham was tasty but barely above room temperature, the hash browns were cold and oily and to top it off, they couldn’t figure out how to get water that was hot enough to make tea. The comment was that the two pieces of equipment didn’t seem to be able to make hot water. Gee, they evidently have never heard of a sauce pan, water and a gas burner in the kitchen. We won’t be returning.

I liked the restaurant and the place was pleasant with a great staff. It is too bad that a man at the next table did not know how to use an inside voice during his pitch to some poor men with him. Very annoying.

Ok, I’ve been to Citrus Café three times now, so I guess it’s about time I leave a review. The first two time going was with my wife. Once for Breakfast, the second time for Dinner. The third time was with my wife and a few family members for Breakfast. The ambience is that of your average home style restaurant. When it’s not too crowded it’s pretty peaceful, but when it gets busy forget it. It turns into one giant shouting match. The first time there for Breakfast I ordered the standard eggs over easy with sausage and hash browns. I must say it was pretty tasty, though I order over easy eggs for a reason. I really hate the burnt edges on eggs when they are cooked too fast. The second time there was for Dinner. I had the Calf Liver. I’ll say right now that this plate is the only thing that keeps me from giving this place three starts. The liver melted in my mouth. I know of a couple of other places that serve liver but they don’t come close to the liver serves at Citrus Café. A little pricey at $ 15.00 a plate but oh well. Now for the third time with family. I wasn’t sure how to read my family’s take on the place. They seemed to enjoy it, but there was no one saying«Mmmm, this is good.» Personally, I ordered two poached eggs with biscuits and gravy. The eggs were, well poached. The biscuits and gravy on the other hand… Yuk! The gravy was quite bland with the exception of the taste of pepper being poured on your tongue. After tip I put out close to $ 90.00 for five people. As for the service it is kind of hit and miss. The greeting at the door has always been good, while the table service was good the first time, ok the second, with the family Breakfast found us having our server being replaced with a more people type person. I would suggest trying the place yourself first before taking someone you want to impress. The Fanatic…

HORRENDOUS service, mediocre food and a very sad menu. Not a great selection on their menu, just sandwiches some salads and some entrees. I was a party of 1 plus my baby and was seated promptly. Not that this place was crowded or anything. I was left here to sit for what seemed like a good 10 minutes before a bus boy came up to get me a drink and some bread. Another 5 — 8 minutes went by and I started to get really furious. I mean, they see me because I’m sitting out in the open. Finally a waiter came by to take my order and I almost wanted to just get up and leave but I needed to eat so I ordered a sandwich(Turkey?). It came out fairly quick but it just left a bad taste in my already sour mouth. I will never come here again.

Been here twice now and I must say, the portions are a lot. The salad is enough for two people. The sandwiches or burgers will guarantee leftovers. The pasta was pretty decent. I got the farfalle chicken pasta, which was pretty good. There are pine nuts and I think this is what make this simple pasta so good! Definitely not over cooked and quite generous with the sauce. You can make reservations as well and I believe you can host meetings here.

This review is for a visit weeks ago… we went for breakfast on a Saturday, Citrus Café was slightly busy but they were well staffed. The parking is usually not a problem. Sometimes the trains come by and is a thrill for little kiddies and train enthusiasts, but loud for diners on their patio. Inside, you are greeted with a nice hello… it feels relaxed and clean and feels comfy wih cloth napkins, solid wood tables and chairs, polite staff, and decent menu. I like that they bake their own pies, muffins, etc. It’s a step up compared to Denny’s and IHOP — both good at breakfast band blah the rest of the day. To me, Citrus Café is overall good all day. I’ve had their pizzas and pasta dishes, and several sandwiches. And I’ve liked everything I’ve had so far. It’s also easy access from Redhill and the 55 Freeway at Edinger. Today I am getting a ride to John Wayne airport, and whoever drives me, I take them here because I don’t like the dining options at or near the airport as much. I typically get their steak and eggs when it’s on special I also really like their on premises made corned beef and eggs for the same price. However, today I opted for two eggs, 4 large strips of bacon, hash browns, and blueberry muffin for under $ 10. My friend got the Belgian Waffle, Everything was good, especially the hash browns. These are grilled, not deep fat fried in all that fat you might get at McDonald’s…crispy on the outside and soft potatoes on the inside. The muffins are small but moist and sweet. The waffle, though, my friend said was too doughy and was not as good as the last time he had it. Service wasn’t bad. Prompt wait staff to get drinks and your order, food came out fast, and refills were never a problem. The wait person was efficient but cont conversant at all. Oh well. Not bad. Will definitely come here again.

Stopped here randomly and decided to try it out. We had the best waiter I’ve had all year, his name is Eloy! Thank you so much for making our experience so pleasantly memorable. The food was excellent, they have a wonderful array of menu items. All around it was excellent, but thanks to Eloy’s phenomenal service we will be back. I have to mention all of the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, knowledgeable & awesome! Make sure you try the Saganaki«Flaming Cheese». Scrumptious & you get a little show

I finally tried this place with my wife. The funny thing is I had suggested this place to some people and I had never even been here before. Word of mouth only, but now I can say it is a pretty good place to eat. We had breakfast. I had the Eggs Benedict, which I will say were very good. The bourdelaise sauce was very good and the hash browns were great. Large serving of hash browns, crispy yet soft, and buttery. My wife had a French Toast and they were good too. Best of all we were served quickly. Maybe because it was weekday? Interior very nice. I think this may have been a Mimi’s Café? French type decore.

Seemed like an accommodating place, family style, good menu, etc. But, once I ordered I asked to accommodate my plate(due to dietary restrictions) things got awkward. They didn’t have a soy based or turkey based option for the meats; they didn’t have margarine(only butter); and their idea of «fresh cream» for my coffee came to me in little capsules which were warm. I asked for egg whites(they did accommodate that request!), but then loaded them with butter. :( I was disappointed that their ambiance and advertisements reflects healthy food and eating, but the reality is far from it. Plus, breakfast for two people was slightly expensive($ 40)! Won’t be returning… Will find another breakfast place that respects all dietary needs.

There really is nothing special about this place. I was here for a work luncheon and we had a choice of the california burger, a chinese chicken salad, and one other choice. I opted for the california burger which is basically a cheese burger with green leaf lettuce, avocado, and bacon. When splitting the burger with a co-worker of mine, I noticed a dark grey looking residue on my green leaf lettuce(inside the burger) so I swiped at it with my knife and put it on my plate. It was dirt. There was dirt on my sandwich. How do you leave dirt on green leaf lettuce? I thought you were supposed to wash the veggies before you put them into the burger… Anyway, they got me a new burger and this time, there was no dirt in it. Problem is, the burger was bland and absolutely flavorless. I actually enjoyed the fries and the dessert pie more than the burger itself. Top top it off, the waitress that was responsible for taking care of our group seemed as if she had a bad day. Look, I understand that you don’t like your job, but you need to at least act like you do because it creates an unpleasant experience for everybody else. Stay away and have a nice day!

After dancing Sunday night away Kizomba dancing, the boyfriend & I were ravenous. If I leave my boyfriend to his own devices he will always want to go to our local Panera Bread. I like Panera Bread don’t get me wrong but it nice to try somewhere new for breakfast/brunch sometimes. So I searched my trusted Unilocal and found Citrus Café, some of the reviews weren’t stellar but those were dated more than a year ago. So I decided to give Citrus Café a try and I am glad I did. We had Mimosas for drinks, I ordered the Extra Omelette(but substituted American cheese for Cheddar) with Sordough toast & my boyfriend had the famous Stuffed French Toast. The portion sizes were generous and the service was attentive. My omelette I enjoyed, but wish it had a bit more seasoning(but then I am African & we love spice & seasoning in our food). My boyfriend enjoyed his French Toast but he felt there was too much cinnamon added. Our Bill came up to $ 32 – 35 and we used the 20% off our bill by checking in on Unilocal.I would come again for breakfast/lunch.
