I made an appt. with James, the owner, for a weave. I had a great weave that was growing out and I told him that I really liked the light blonde that one of his stylists had done previously (she had to cancel so James offered his services). After he was done I thought it looked dark but the lights were bright and he was very busy so I dashed out for an appt. This was Saturday afternoon, and over the weekend three people asked me if I was letting my hair go grey. It was awful, and a darker brown than my own natural color! I went back on Tuesday morning, the next business day, and he said to go home and wash my hair. He also said to try parting my hair differently. My hair was brown, not blonde!!! Finally he not very nicely handed me over to one of his assistants who redid the weave which was only slightly better. I will never go back there again. He was unprofessional and rude. Terrible experience.

James is the best! Been going to James for 3 years now and never let us down. (My wife, my 6 yrs son, and me) Recommend him to everything one!

I’ve been here twice and left a satisfied customer both times. The first time I had a haircut with Bobby and it was great — he listened to what I wanted and gave me a great haircut that was exactly what I wanted. For my next haircut, I wanted to have a haircut by James. He was great too! Overall, I would highly recommend Bentley’s Salon — thank you Bobby & James!

Helen Saison is the best! She’s very patient with my mother (who can be a very difficult client) and has never disappointed us. She treats her like a queen! My mother’s hair always turns out well (and to her liking) and we’ll continue to be her customer.

she texted me if I can come@2:30 instead because she’s coming from other job but she texted me again@1pm that she can’t make it because she got an eye infection so we have to reschedule for October 23@5pm.I texted her on my appointment day why did she schedule me@5pm knowing that the salon close @5pm so she said she cannot. I was thinking how long shes been working at that salon not knowing the salon hours. I’m tired of her giving me excuses (the round around).I HAVE TO accommodate my time for her instead of her being flexible for her customer. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and not RELIABLE PERSON!

As of the past year or so I have been looking for the right hair salon to get my hair cut. The places around my area just did not give me the cut that I wanted along with a stylist that would always nod and say they can do what I told them I wanted, only to be left with a mediocre haircut. Well, all of this changed when I heard of Bentley’s Salon from a friend, he gave me the number of a stylist named Bobby and by looking at my friend’s hair, this Bobby should really know his stuff. So after setting an appointment I went to go get my haircut. The staff was very friendly, offering me something to drink as I was a bit early. Bobby was very proficient and focused on what I wanted done, since it was my first time there, he asked me about how I wanted certain parts of my hair to be cut which I greatly appreciate. When it is all said and done, Bentley’s Salon is by far the best place in Orange County to get one’s hair done.

I am giving Bentley’s 5 stars because they deserve it, especially my stylist Summer Candow. I moved up here from San Diego a couple of years ago and anytime I have to move or change stylists, I am a little precautious (a lot precautious really) because I don’t just trust anyone with my hair. I have had some not so great luck in the past. Well when I moved to Orange, I wanted to go somewhere with great reviews, great customer service and of course someone who really does a great job. Bentley’s is very welcoming, they are clean and organized, and they also sell cute jewelry and accessories. I chose to be styled by Summer. I have been going to Summer ever since. I see her about every 3 months and recently I wanted to go lighter, lighter than I usually go. I showed Summer a picture I had found of the shade of blonde I wanted on the internet, and when I left, I was so thrilled with my hair. Summer did an outstanding job and she got the color to a T. It was perfect. I love my hair every time I get it done. I would highly recommend Summer to anyone looking for a fantastic stylist. She also did hair and makeup for my (now) sister-​in-​law and all of her bridesmaids. SO anyone who needs a permanent stylist and/​or makeup done for an event, go to Summer.

Once again I am having James cut and color my hair. Having a glass of red wine while the color sets! Just another example of the ways James goes out of his way to make each visit to the salon a fabulous experience. He is a true artist with scissors and I always leave looking new! He works miracles on my baby fine hair! His cuts make my hair look so much thicker! I will never go to anyone else! When you find perfection, why would you?

Decided to give this place a visit after reading through reviews and personal recommendation from my cousin who is a local. Flew all the way from Ohio to see James. James really took his time to analyze my hair and gave me his opinion on what I should do. I came in with thick fried and dead hair and came out with much healthier and exactly how I wanted my hair to be. I was happy with my results and even made a same day appointment for my sister to get hers done. He will give u his honest opinion about what u should do with your hair. I will definitely come back and see James next time I’m in town if I need a haircut! I’m so picky with my hair and James does it right.

i came for a facial. microdermabrasion which cost $ 100.
She asked for 160 cause she said she use other things on me too. And its cash only.
I was not in mood to argue. I could if I want too. Not worth the money paid I would rather paid for a diamond peel at South Coast Plaza.

I went in to see Summer because of some seriously messed up hair extensions I had (stupidly) gotten from a clearly inexperienced stylist who placed them incorrectly and didn’t put enough extensions in my hair to blend it. She also refused to answer my calls to get if fixed. Not only did Summer fix my color and cut my hair so it would blend, she took out all the old ones (they are micro beads) and the next day replaced them and added the extra hair we both agreed I needed. (I’m asian and I have coarse hair and lot of it) She is super professional and knows pretty much everything about extensions. I would recommend her to everyone and won’t be getting my hair done anywhere else! Thanks so much Summer!

Carrie is the best! I don’t trust anyone with my hair but her. I have even flow in from CO to have her do my hair when I was temp living there for a year. She is THAT good. Never cuts too much, always gives you what you want and makes you feel you are a princess/​king while in her chair. Ex-​Hairdresser and extremely picky so for me to give these review speaks a lot!
On a side note for trying a stylist out for the first time. Bring pictures to show what you are wanting so they clearly see what you are wanting. Your shade of brown might not match another person shade of brown so you can’t blame them if you don’t give clear directions & details.

Great place. Nice people. Bobby Tran is a terrific stylist — talented, funny, caring. James, the owner, is also a master and runs a real service– oriented, professional operation. I highly recommend them and this gem of a salon!

Had one of the great hair experiences ever at Bentleys Salon! with a stylist named Summer.
A few months ago I had a traumatic hack job haircut, so it was very hard for me to allow myself to try somewhere new again. I was referred by a friend who had gotten their hair done by Summer for many years, and omg I am so happy I went!
The front desk girl was very polite, and I was even offered beverages as soon as I was seated. The Customer service was fantastic!
I am naturally a brunette and decided to get lots of blonde in my hair. I love it so much, it looks amazing! I showed up to work the next day and I have never gotten so many compliments!!!
I booked my next appt the same evening I got my hair done… I can say that I found my new hair stylist. It was a journey, but I finally found someone I can trust! :)

James is one of the best hair stylists… ever. He has been cutting hair since I first met him 14 years ago, so he really knows and understands hair. He used to go to hair conventions and study new hair cutting techniques all the time. Plus he has his scissor fanny pack which is awesome!
Similar to the last reviewer, I followed him since I first met him. The best thing about James’s haircuts is not that it looks good the first day, or the first week… it looks great even when it’s growing out! I think it looks better after a week has passed, because the haircut just gets better.
James is awesome. He takes time to listen to you, and will give you honest advice about what will look good on you and what won’t. Even if he would make more money coloring your hair or doing it a certain way, he will tell you not to do it if he thinks it wouldn’t be ideal for your hair.
AND he’s a great person to boot!

It’s all about James. He’s my hairstylist and also happens to be the owner of Bentley’s.
I’ve been going to James for the past ten years, loyally following him from one hair salon to another.
My friend first took me to see James right after a bad break-​up. She dragged me out of my mopey little pity party and decided to make me over. The first stop was to see James who performed such magic on my thick, unruly, half wavy,/half straight, atypical nonasian asian hair that it did just about pull me out of my funky little pity party for one. Ever since then, I’ve been a loyal fan.
These are the reasons why James is so great:
1. He listens. He really listens to what I want.
2. He gets it. I always bring in a few photos of hairstyles I like and he’s intuitive enough to get the main reason I am drawn to those specific styles. And the best part — He executes perfectly!
3. He never ever tries to force his own ideas onto me. He will give suggestions only when asked. And his suggestions are always fantastic.
4. He is realistic about what can and cannot be done to my hair. He doesn’t give fantasy based illusions and promises that no one will ever deliver.
5. He takes time to cut and style my hair. I never feel rushed.
6. He’s a great colorist. There was a time when I experimented with different hair colors, all variations of brown, black, red, and orange. It came to a point where my hair looked like a calico cat. I realized I needed someone to fix what I had done, especially for my wedding, so I went to James. He picked out a perfect color for me, and went to work. He fixed my nightmare hair color once and for all!
7. He also does a great job on men’s hair. My husband got his haircut from James one week prior to our wedding and of course, James did a fabulous job, as always.
James is a miracle worker. I used to hate my hair until James started to style it for me. Now, I love it, half wavy/​half straight, unruliness and all!

so i’m sitting on the magical chair while james was doing some magical work on my hair, and i’m Unilocaling on some good foodie spots in the area when i realized that i should write about how great James is. It’s about time that I contribute instead of just taking and taking from the all-​powerful Unilocaling world, haha

Need a little tlc or a magical touch for your hair? Ladies no need to look any further for that perfect hairstylist~~James scissorhands @ bentley is your remedy! (james = scissors like musician = harp; i don’t know if that analogy works but hey! you get the point). I’ve been going to him for over five years now and he sure knows all about hair: how to fix the damage (my hair was fried before James), how to find the perfect color so it looks all naturale (i love my barely noticeable but absolutely fab highlights), how to cut so that you don’t have to cut for many months (i love that i could go months and months without it looking like I’m overdue for a cut), and how to style so you look just absolutely gorgeous. The most note worthy is the fact that my hair is so very healthy! I always get compliments on my hair:) Every visit to the salon is a happy camper walking out:).
Also I should note that I live and work far away from Tustin, but there is no other salon or stylist I can trust! It’s almost like a trusted doctor or lawyer. bizarre but what can I say… trust is hard to earn:))

I’m always open to trying new stylists, mostly because I haven’t found one that does my hair exactly the way I want it done, but I found Bobby on Craigslist and he did a quick cut and style for $ 20!!!
I figured, even if it didn’t come out great it was only $ 20. I didn’t know what to expect, but Bentley’s is an unassuming salon right off the 55. It’s a typical smaller salon with a lot of gossiping going on.
Bobby is a little shy, but he gets down to business and does a good job at it.

after many years of getting my hair done at a SuperCuts (and HairMaster), it was finally time to find a ‘STYLIST.’ I Unilocaled for someone who could cut short, straight, Asian hair… and thankfully, James and his salon popped right up!
James is just a jewel — I was so very happy with the cut! I have ultra short straight hair, so one tiny slip of the scissors and it’s curtains! No problem here — James is a wizard with the scissors…
I’m very happy to recommend him and the salon.

I have followed James everywhere! From when he was working at Hair Art in GG to some upscale salon in Irvine, to his own salon in HB, and now here at Bentley’s. He’s the owner and rightfully so! I cannot say enough good things about James. He’s really nice and he does absolute magic with hair. James really is the only stylist who has been able to make me smile immediately after I get anything done — cut, color, perm, whatever! He’ll stand there and do this crazy cutting (only I’ve seen him cut hair the way he does) and it always turns out awesome in the end. Usually I have to go home and mess with my hair in order for it to look the way I want because the stylist never ends up understanding what I really want. Not with James. He gets it right the first time almost every single time.
Oh, and he has this scissors fanny pack that just rocks, haha.
