Homemade Fried Chicken at its best! I actually visited Miss Dots about a week ago with a group of colleagues from out of town. This was my first taste of Miss Dots fried chicken and loved it! The chicken breast was fried just right, moist but not greasy. The sides were good old southern sides with a little twist. The warm red cabbage slaw was a hit at our table along with the chicken bites. Customer service was second to none. One in our party had to wait on a fresh chicken breast, so the manager brought an extra wing and the rest of his order while he waited. I wasn’t a huge fan of the braised collard greens I guess because I was comparing them to Mama’s and Daddy’s collards I grew up eating. It was mostly the way the greens were cut, but the flavor was just okay. We’re still talking about the chicken bites and one week later. I will definitely be back!

Do not come here if you are hungry fellow students. Unless, of course, you like paying 11 dollars for 1 and maybe a quarter pieces of chicken. Oh and be careful, they’ll sneak in an extra dollar if you answer the«dark meat or white meat» question incorrectly. I will say, it was pretty good… But considering I can go to Publix and get literally eight pieces of dank chicken for 3 dollars less, I can’t see myself coming here much more. All I gotta say is good luck Dots surviving in a college town. If I’m gonna spend every dollar I have on chicken, you better hook me up.

Miss Dots. How shall I explain you? I suppose I should preface this with a confession that my experience at Missy D’s followed the consumption of an unexpected Four Loko due to a rather stressful but successful day of classes. I’d like to think that didn’t directly effect my experience, but continue using your own discretion. I would say Miss D’s is essentially a fancy KFC. Take that as a compliment or an insult or even a philosophical view on life, but regardless, it is truer than you’d think. Essentially take the chicken out of the Colonel Sanders commercial, and serve it with not-so-special sides, at a reasonable price, and there’s the money shot. It is a place that I will definitely eat at again, but not on my list of go-to restaurants in Tuscaloosa. I must admit, the service was above average, but I’m skeptical to see if that is just due to being newly opened and trying to establish a good reputation, or if they’ve actually found some good hearted people in this town. I’m sitting with the former currently. Eat here. Try it out, but don’t expect something life changing. Not mad about it, but not impressed with it. I would give this a 3 out of 5 Four Lokos.

So I came here with some friends to check it out one Friday night. I would say it is a solid fast-casual restaurant. Their biggest sell is chicken. A lot of chicken. I had the pulled chicken sandwich with a side of squash casserole. It was legit. They have this sauce called White Lightning Sauce which is really good. A nice blend of tangy and creamy similar to what most people call«white sauce» or «white bbq sauce». I would highly recommend for chicken lovers. Service was quick and parking no hassle.

My favorite squash casserole ! The chicken bites may be better than the fried chicken and I am all about a LEG! Small place. But another hit for John Cassimus. The cabbage salad very good. Even tried the pecan pie;). Light and yummy so you can eat it all!

Enjoyed our visit to this newly opened restaurant. It is a fast casual restaurant where you order and then they bring it out. Service was fast. The fired chicken was outstanding, especially with the dipping sauces. Both the original and white lightening were awesome. My friends had the grilled chicken and enjoyed theirs as well. The chicken was juicy and was served quickly. Great adult beverages there as well. The only down side is that the menus selection for both food and drinks is a little limited, although nobody in our party of 6 had a challenge with finding something they enjoyed.
