Got the Pad Thai because that’s how I judge Thai places! It was not bad. My best friend got the Tofu with peanut sauce and that was good. Yes, the rice is in a heart formation! Overall, I would recommend. I felt a little rushed because I’m a slow eater, but other than that service was good. Water was brought often. We even had chocolate mousse for dessert and it was really good! Fun place to try, cheap, no complaints.

First time was great! Excellent, fresh quality food. Nice balance between known and unknown flavors. Very convenient to order thru beyond menu app. Food was hot and fresh. Can’t wait to try again!

This place isn’t much to brag about. The service wasn’t great, the menu options were ok and the food was alright. I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

Good find near the new outlets in Blackwood. The server was very brief with us(as commented elsewhere), which was fine. I had to ask her for tea and then again for chopsticks. The place really reminded me of little restaurants in Japan – the smell, décor, and the service. The bathroom was spotless, which is always a good sign – if you want to know how clean the kitchen is, check out the bathroom. The menu has some redundancy but I was happy that it wasn’t as sprawling as some Asian places. My kids(11 and 9) ordered off of the menu and enjoyed their food(my usual disclaimer – I have well behaved, adventurous eaters for kids). I had the Chef’s Combination Drunken Noodles. These are wide, fried rice noodles with three meats. I ordered it medium spicy. Very good and the lunch portion was satisfying. Four of us ate for $ 35. This was a much better option than the chain restaurants that surround this area and the outlets.

The food was decent, the atmosphere okay. Nothing stands out. The service was slow because there was just the one server handling 5 tables at once. The lunch prices are just a tiny bit too high. Should be $ 1 more and include a soup. But the mustard smiley gave in my duck sauce was a nice touch, even though I hate mustard…

I’m a picky eater, but I found something here I love. The teriyaki chicken is awesome. The rest of my family has their favorites too. The waitress always remember us and is very nice. Nice and relaxing atmosphere also. I highly recommend it

When I first came here a while back the Food and service was excellent. Prices very reasonable. But lately, The food is still good, however the lady there seems like she is always grumpy. And this is the last 4 – 5 times we have been there… You really shouldn’t do that as a restaurant. If I see a change in her over the next few visits I change my rating to 4 stars.

Whenever we find ourselves on the Black Horse Pike in New Jersey, we make it a point to stop in for a meal at Thai Chili 88. The food is simply delicious, the prices are super-reasonably, and the servers actually want to serve! This restaurant would do five times the business if it were in a better and more obvious location.

My fiancé and I were looking for an authentic thai restaurant after our favorite one closed in Voorhees. We were pretty disappointedto say the least. The menu was full of glorified Chinese food. There was nothing that seemed authentic. Even the décor was pretty lame. I don’t remember much about the food quality but I guess it wasn’t terrible since I don’t remember it.

Stop in Friday for lunch since they had the 15% off Unilocal check in deal. I had their pad thai. The food was pretty good, reasonable price. Only thing is their portion was kind of small. The food came out pretty fast and the place looks clean.

This is my favorite place for tofu. No one does it better! The atmosphere is very relaxing. It is owner operated, so you are always guaranteed great service.

Went here at 9pm(closes at 10) and we didn’t feel very welcomed. Place wasn’t busy at all. Got seated and ordered right away. The spicy shrimp w vegetables in a brown sauce. Eehhhhhh… Basic chinese take out food. Nothing amazing. Wasn’t very spicy either.

Saw this place on Unilocal and had to check it out. Vietnamese food in South Jersey? I came in a little skeptical but the food was delicious. I had the curry chicken in peanut sauce with a Thai iced tea. The platter didn’t disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised. The iced tea was on the mediocre side, and so was the service. But the food makes up for it.

I have been coming to Thai Chili now for 3 years. The atmosphere is pleasant bright and cheerful. The owners are very friendly and accommodating if you give special requests. My favorite dishes are the wonton soup best I’ve ever had the noodles aren’t thick and heavy like other places and the eggplant chicken also Thai iced tea. I am also a fan of the shrimp Cantonese. The menu is not huge but what the cook they do well and I come back again and again because of the friendliness and service of this couple to please the customer

Been back several more times since my past review and Thai Chili 88 is still great! Some additional dishes which I especially liked, — If you’re a Vegetarian, I highly suggest the Tofu w. Peanut Sauce entrée(served with broccoli). It’s not fried to the point it’s dripping with oil but it’s also not left alone to the point it’s just… tofu. The light breading they do to the Tofu makes it slightly crispy(but only slight) and it’s great with the peanut sauce. — The Thai Ginger Chicken is a good option too. I think the difference between Thai Chili 88 and most other Asian-Cuisine Restaurants is most evident here. Where most take-out joints just drench everything in sauce and call it a day, the cooks at Thai Chili 88 use spices and sauce(and in this case, ginger) to create something a bit more complex than what you’d expect. Like what I said in my previous review, you got to consider the price. Considering lunch is around $ 5-$ 7(with spring roll and fried rice) and dinner being $ 10ish, you shouldn’t expect your world to change. It might not be as traditional as other Thai places in Philadelphia but considering the region Thai Chili 88 is at, the prices they charge, and the quality of the food — I think they still deserve a 5 star for sure.

Been here a few times for lunch. It is pretty good, though I think it is a bit Americanized. I was hoping for a bit more flavor from some of the dishes. I have gotten the peanut chicken which is ok. Cheap lunch specials, though the portions are small so it balances out. Quite place, most of the time when I go I am the only one in there. Dark lighting, but that goes well with the quiet.

My favorite new spot. While not exactly a purebred Thai restaurant, it features enough mainstream Thai dishes as well as a few popular chinese dishes to please a broad array of palettes. After 6 meals here, I can confidently say I was consistently impressed with the quality and execution of everything, especially at lunch time, where most entrees are $ 4.75(eat in only, seafood extra). The restaurant itself is very clean and has a nice dining area, though some may find it a little dark. We always start with the postickers — not sure if its the potstickers themselves or the dipping sauce, but thinking about them makes my pants tight. Wife also likes them too, which is a huge relief, because she’s a picky eater. I’ve also had the wonton soup, which isnt exactly Thai, but was still very good. Wontons were kind of small, very flavorful broth though. For entrees, its hard to pick a favorite — I’ve had the drunken noodles with chicken, jalepeno beef, sriracha beef, lemongrass chicken, and most recently, the Pad Thai. Now, everyone knows you can get Pad Thai pretty much anywhere. Here, it comes with chicken AND shrimp — large pieces that you can actually identify. It’s Pad Thai elevated to a higher level. In fact, every dish I’ve had here was excellent, and came to the table plated as though we were eating in a much more expensive restaurant(see photos I uploaded). If you really appreciate details, then youll love the fact that your soda(or ice tea) comes in a glass, NOT a can, and the refills are free — you’d be amazed how many places still charge/serve you by the can. If theres one gripe I have, its that portions could be bigger. Its not that they’re too small, its just that other places give you more. Take that with a grain of salt though, as I typically get 2 entrees when I eat here.
