I pass through Tunkhannock once a year, and decided to stop for dinner here, as my other go-to place had become disappointing. Remington’s was relaxed, quiet the night I was there but capable of staying so even with large parties, and a perfect rest stop after a four-hour drive. Caesar salad came with anchovies, which is essential. The steamed clams on special were simply prepared and done just right.(They were the hard shell kind, which is the best for a restaurant; soft shells are for home cooking or shoreline clam shacks.) The bar was amply stocked. I didn’t have time for dessert, since I needed to get back on the road. I’m definitely returning next year.

Came here while working in the area and Remington’s was next door. Pleasantly surprised. Excellent service and food was great. We both got burgers that were delicious and cooked perfectly. Atmosphere is quiet, but doesn’t feel dead. Would recommend to anyone in area.

Excellent restaurant. I wasn’t sure given the mixed bag of reviews, but the restaurant was convenient, so I decided to give it a try. The staff was incredibly friendly, the atmosphere is, as they describe, «casual upscale.» I was served a cocktail very promptly and I love the fact that the entrees come with a small Caesar salad. I had the ½ duck, which was wonderful. I followed that with a slice of house-made peach pie, which was also excellent. No question I would go back. As a business traveler I try hundreds of restaurants each year, and it’s always nice to find a quality gem when visiting a small town.

Remington’s is a perfect combination that reminds me of a sweet embrace of home, but even more. The restaurant is impeccably decorated and they play music that’s relaxing/romantic. Service is friendly, and ensure that all our needs are met. The menu is full of my traditional favorites like: Filet of Salmon finished in a bourbon sauce, served on a bed of rice, Weiner Schnitzel served with chardonnay cream sauce.

We had to wait way to long to be seated and the place was not very busy. They only had 2 servers working so our waiter was rushing around and never paid attention to our table. They said our meal would come with rolls and salad. The rolls were hard and the gave us cold butter in plastic containers. The salad came was incredibly small. Not really fine dining. The vegetables that came with our meal seemed and tasted like frozen vegetables. The mashed potatoes might have been instant. Not sure The only redeeming factor was the chicken that I ordered, it was actually pretty good. Overall the experience was rather infuriating.

The restaurant is unbelievable. My $ 26. Steak was suppose to be med. rare but it came out well done. I told the waitress and her response was to walk away. Soon after she picked up my uneaten plate and presented me with a $ 40 bill. I told the manager and she said«sorry». I still can’t believe it. I will never visit this place again.

Service was ok and that’s where it ends. I ordered the salmon which was way, way overpriced for this place. In fact, everything here was overpriced for what the place is. The salmon was tasteless, overcooked, dry, and farmed. The pilaf looked like it came from a freezer bag. Lastly, the mash potatoes were instant, are you kidding me?! For a $ 21+ dollar meal, instant mashed potatoes and frozen pilaf is inexcusable and just lazy. Everything was tasteless, uninspired, and apathetically done. A mistake coming here without a doubt.

My chicken Chesapeake was $ 21 and topped with imitation crab. I don’t think there is anything more to say.

We have been back several times since my last post and have been more pleased. We bought my dad and uncle there and they loved it. The quality of food improved since my last post. The staff is extremely pleasant and very accommodating. We will continue to visit.

Tunkhannock has fabulous restaurants and Remington’s is one not to miss. Our server, Lee, was very attentive and have us terrific suggestions of what to order. The homemade chips as an appetizer were addicting. The scallops and shrimp in bourban sauce was delicious and not a heavy meal, so I was able to save room for the coconut cream pie. We will definitely go back.

We went for a last minute substitute when the weather turned bad and we didn’t want to drive too far. While the waitress was very nice, we asked for recommendations to get the«best dish you have» we both had the crab bisque but found it to be very salty and had bits of shell in it. My husband’s tilapia was bone dry and the«basalmic drizzle«was too little to late to help the fish. We won’t be back, we will just go to the Fireplace instead.

Very nice atmosphere. But sadly after being sat my family and I waited 20 minutes before leaving. Not even a drink was brought or order taken. Food looked and smelled great what a shame couldn’t enjoy it.

This was by far the best dining experience I have had in a while. Top notch pork chop, clean place and exceptional service. This is a must for anyone traveling thru this town. Talked with the owners(husband and wife) who were very friendly and just plain good folks.

Ordered a burger here since it was right next to the hotel I was staying at. Was delicious. Well cooked. Not loaded with condiments. A little under seasoned but perfect lunch. Not bad. And it was affordable. Can’t speak much about dinner but the burger was tastey.

Best food in town. Drink is pretty cheap(Patron shot for 8 bucks?). Service is Ok, depends on who you get. It’s next to the Hampton so you can eat and drink then walk back to the hotel.

The hostess was snippy every time she interacted with us and at the end of the meal she was actually extremely rude to my wife. To top it off, my three year old son wandered up a few steps on a staircase located by the main entrance as we were leaving and the hostess yelled at him and made him feel stupid. No matter how good the food was it was not worth being treated horribly. I will never eat there again.

I was not all that impressed with this restaurant aside from that it was a two minute walk from my hotel. It was rather over-priced for the portion and quality of the meal. I also must have been there at a rough time as they only had two people covering the entire restaurant. This made for some delays in filling my glass when I was thirsting for something to wash down my food. There is a nice selection of food and being as this is the first time I’ve ever been at this restaurant it deserves another try. But the price(compared to the other spots in town) may delay my return.
