Dinner buffet is overpriced(~$ 25 per person after tax), and the food was just so-so(except for the soft serve ice cream, which was delicious). Had a good variety, but the quality wasn’t great. Maybe it was because we went near closing time, when everything isn’t as fresh. I saw a pizza station, that had only one kind of pizza available. There was a meat carving station. I saw a pasta station, but there were no utensils to dish it out. The Chinese station had a hair in one of the entrees. The desserts looked pretty good though. I will save my money next time and eat elsewhere.(Casino and hotel were nice though!)

We went to the Saturday night seafood buffet and quite enjoyed it. We used Southland’s all you can eat crab legs as the bar. They had plenty of everything the only sub-par item were the oysters. They really were terrible. Everything else was really good including the Ghost River Ale that was on tap…

Currently my favorite buffet in Tunica. A wide variety of very good food. I was pleasantly surprised to taste real mashed potatoes on a buffet. The mac and cheese was so good that I almost dropped by fork in awe. Service has stepped up to an unbelievably high level

Don’t do it. Way too overpriced and the quality of food is not good at all. Not even the desserts or the bread. Won’t be eating here again.

Buffet was pricey– 27.99 per person. It did include all you can eat seafood and steak. They have a lot of other choices– many different options including salad, sushi, Mongolian grill, American dishes like Mac n cheese and a pizza station. I had sirloin with a salad and sweet potato. Sirloin was cooked perfectly and delicious. The desserts station had lots of single serve options. I tried the crème brûlée and a chocolate ganache mousse cake.

This buffet has everything. It’s one of those buffets that has so much variety that one often does not know where to begin. Southern, Chinese, seafoood, Italian, prime rib — just about every genre. It also has unlimited wine and beer included in the price of the buffet at dinner and mixed drinks such as bloody marys and mimosas at the breakfast buffet. The problem is getting seated. The wait in line for a table is extremely long unless you get there very early and even then the seating is not very fast. Also, some of the workers seem unhelpful(almost as if they belong to unions — maybe they do?) while others are very focused and helpful. IF you do get a table, I suggest walking around and having a look at the entire buffet before starting to fill your plate. You will probably want to hit just a few of your favorites.

Some of the food was dry. The Chinese/Mongolian station was fantastic! Huge selection of dessert. Lots to choose from.

I can no longer go back to this place! The last time we went, the food was just complete slop. Some of the stations didn’t even have any food at them. And the guy working at the Asian station spit into a bucket right in front of me, and he looked like he hadn’t showered in a week. It was a nauseating experience.

This was the best, best breakfast buffet ever! Everything was fresh, there was tons of beautiful vegetables, pastries and biscuits that would melt in your mouth, delicious bacons and sausages, hams, roast beef and turkey cold cuts, cantalope that tasted great in December! I hope we go back tomorrow

Buffet was ok but not great. Which is what I would expect for the price. Cornbread & rolls were rock hard. The pizza & catfish was just ok. My husband said the prime rib was good & I loved the pecan pie so that is why I gave it 3 stars.

Some of the food way dry or over cooked. No blue cheese or French dressing on salad bar. Expect better quality of food and more choices for the price.

If you can eat healthy at a buffet in the south, they must be doing it right. For less than the price of the salmon salad in the coffee shop, I had made with my choice of protein(shrimp, beef, or chicken) and sauce Stir Fry Mongolian BBQ style with a salad chaser and strategically avoiding the dessert bar. Just wish I had thought to add veggies from the salad bar to the Mongo B. Only minor gripe is no lemonade to go with the brewed tea for Arnold Palmers.

Decent food but just average. Nothing hit a home run with me. More expensive than most other casino buffets in Tunica. $ 26 with tax and tip for a weeknight dinner visit. What they don’t tell you is that EVERYTHING is self-service, including drinks, until AFTER you have already put down a tip on your credit card charge at the entrance where you pay. You basically have tipped for no reason then since there are no waiters or waitresses. FAIL on that.

Me & my wife went on Saturday night, which was the seafood night. I do not like that you come out of the place smelling like an ash tray, but it is a casino & to be expected. Overall it was a good deal based on how much crab legs we were able to eat. The shrimp(maybe prawns) were very large and served cold, these two treats saved the meal. While the crab legs were good(its hard to screw those up) I found the other food lacking in quality. I understand it is a buffet, based on the prices that were charged, I think the quality could be a bit higher. I tried the tandoori oven and the chicken tikka masala was OK, but when indians aren’t cooking Indian food, it noticeably different. They had other stations but it consisted mostly of fried southern fare. If it wasn’t for the crab legs I would have given less stars and been disappointed.

A great breakfast buffet for the price and extra points for serving breakfast until 11am! The omelet bar and meat selection is fabulous.

We went to an event in Memphis a couple months ago called Soup Sunday at the FedEx forum and we were given a couple vouchers for a complimentary champagne brunch at the Buffet Americana. Thus, we decided to include this buffet as part of our staycation in Tunica. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and made our way to the buffet. They had an omelet station and waffle station which was nice, but I was not terribly overwhelmed by the selection; a rival buffet had more options. We sat down with our plates of food and honestly, everything outside of the eggs, bacon, and sausage was rather unsatisfactory when it came to brunch foods. The chicken fried steak was very bland, the prime rib was too tough, and the hash-brown casserole… let’s not even get started. In addition, they said they were open until 2, but were already taking foods away at 12:15, which I thought was not a good business practice on their end. However, we did have a server who would refill our sodas which was nice. The mimosas were also good. We then went on to get dessert. They had chocolate covered strawberries which my girlfriend enjoyed, and I saw they had one of my favorite types of ice cream — sea salt caramel. I got a cup full of the ice cream and gleefully made my way back to our table. I took a spoonful of the ice cream, and glee turned into disappointment; the ice cream was bland and not very sweet. Normally, this meal would have been $ 22 a person plus tax and tip, and for that price, I certainly would not come back here. However, we do have one more BOGO coupon, and for that price, I’m willing to give this place another try. Certainly not a good first impression though, and would not recommend this place to anyone at full price.

Another situation where I need a half star to award 2.5, sadly Im rounding down as I was very underwhelmed. Not the worst food, not the best. Definitely not a buffet worth the drive from Memphis so I’d only go if I happened to be in Tunica anyway. I had a coupon for buy one get one on the weekend brunch given to me at an event, since we were in Tunica for some clay shooting on a Sunday morning we decided to make this our dining destination. Seating is divided into two mirroring areas with tables and booths. The décor is modern and nice but nothing special. The brunch includes mimosas and bloody Mary’s which is nice but you go up to the bar and get yourself, annoying. All of the standard breakfast foods are provided as well as some southern style sides, a carving station and pizza. I have a big problem with the fact that brunch goes until 2pm and at 12:15 they were not refilling food that had run out. None of the food stood out as being«good» either, just meh. They did have chocolate covered strawberries at dessert — that and mimosas were the saving grace. At half price for two I felt ok with the experience but do not find it worth the $ 21.99 price tag.

Easily the best buffet in Tunica. The best casino buffet I have had.

In one word this place was awful. I could not believe they were serving boiled chicken necks on the buffet. Who does that?! The desserts were literally dried out like bricks. Thank goodness the food was comped.

Now, I’m no stranger to casino buffets or Mississippi restaurants in general. Last weekend, I was invited to experience the brand new Buffet Americana at the Gold Strike Casino in Tunica, MS. This unique dining experience is the culmination of an $ 8 million renovation. The 13,500 square-foot space was freshened up with a sleek, contemporary design, upscale finishes and modern fixtures. While the Gold Strike’s new culinary crown jewel features casino buffet standards like a variety of pizzas, an extensive salad bar, savory Southern fare and carved-to-order meats such as ham, turkey and prime rib, Buffet Americana really excels in providing dining options that you can’t get anywhere else in Tunica. One of my favorite new additions is the Mongolian grill. Diners can choose a protein(beef, chicken or shrimp), pile on some fresh veggies, select a starch(noodles or rice) and a sauce(Might I suggest the ginger hoisin?) and in just a few short minutes, a completely customized entrée is ready to be enjoyed. The buffet also boasts a station that offers kabobs and tikka, as well as naan and pita bread, which are all made possible by the only authentic Tandoori oven in the state of Mississippi. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Buffet Americana provides complimentary beer and wine. When I was there, they choices were Bud Light and Ghost River Pale Ale, as well as a house merlot, chardonnay and white zinfandel. While it is customary to receive courtesy alcoholic beverages while gambling, this is the first casino in Tunica that includes this service in the price of the meal. For the best value, visit Buffet Americana on Friday or Saturday night. On Friday, you can feast on all-you-can-eat snow crabs, and on Saturday, indulge in unlimited whole lobsters. For the price of admission(a very reasonable $ 26.99), it’s easy to get your money’s worth.
