Honestly… I have been twice since home for the holidays and both times were so slow. I actually had the same waitress with Blonde hair and a snobby look. Definitely don’t recommend her. Only go if you have two hours to spare of your night.

Yokozuna used to be our go-to place, but recently I think the food has been slipping a little. We went on Sunday and I ordered the Red Cross Roll(I think that was it). Anyway, the description said the $ 13 roll included tempura asparagus. I received the roll, and there was no tempura to be seen – appeared to be steamed asparagus. I asked the person who brought the roll about it. He seemed really slow(I’m thinking hungover) and it took a bit to communicate what was going on. He took it back to the sushi«chefs» and then brought the plate back to me. He said the chefs«crossed their heart» they fried it even though the breading didn’t stick. I think they missed the point… the tempura part adds flavor and texture. And they clearly had a customer who wasn’t satisfied with the dish. No offer to remake it or bring something else. I chose not escalate the issue, but it really irked me because this is a $ 13 sushi roll. It should be made as advertised, especially when the customer notices a problem. I think the service on Sunday was overall slow and disappointing. I get that no one wants to work the Sunday morning shift, but the reality is that the food costs the same on Sunday morning as it does any other day. The service and food quality has got to be consistent. I will agree with a previous reviewer that the fortune cookies have gotten really weird. I liked the old school ones that had real fortunes in them. I don’t remember what ours said(they weren’t mean like the previous reviewer)– they were just stupid. I didn’t know Yokozuna was doing brunch now. Nothing looked appealing on the menu so I haven’t tried any yet.

Food is ok getting the food out took forever we tried it twice and will never go back because of how long it took to get our food. Both times we went they were slow one time we were the first table to order and still had to wait about 30 – 45 minutes to get an appetizer. Dessert was brought out after 30 minutes or more and was missing part of it. I don’t think the problem was the wait staff but the kitchen staff. The wait staff was always friendly although our second time our waitress was a little slower.

I split the Nutti Thai Professor and the Rising Sun roll with a friend. It was AMAZING… as usual! I love Yokozuna. They always have great service and great food. Great atmosphere! Will definitely be going here again:)

No one in the restaurant, plenty of workers standing around. Service was so slow, no interaction, and my ramen was cold. Then to finish it off, please see the picture I posted of my «fortune» in my fortune cookie(I won’t go to the cultural fact that fortune cookies are Chinese, not Japanese) that read ‚” the end is near and it’s all your fault”. Horrifying! Ruined my whole day and left me sick to my stomach! When calling the manager over to discuss, he only asked if I wanted a new one! Completely inappropriate and classless. Until that moment, I would’ve come back, but not now! Terrible, just terrible!

Came in during happy hour for sushi. Ordered 4 different rolls from their HH menu. After they ran my card I was charged full price. I asked why I was charged this. I was informed you only get happy hour prices if you stay there and eat your sushi. This isn’t posted anywhere and they don’t tell you. 100% disgusted by this. I could care less about their food now.

The sushi is decent, but not thrilling. I’ve had the sashimi samplers in the past, and thought they were great. The carpaccio was a little over cooked, but the Yuzu soy was good. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere is pretty nice, especially for a strip mall location. They have a sushi happy hour from 3 – 6:00; prices for basic rolls are very reasonable during it.

I am a new fan of sushi and Yoko is at the top of my list. It is great to have this location for all us South Tulsa folks. We really enjoy going to the Sushi happy hour. There are a couple selections of sushi that are half price from 3 – 6PM daily. It is a great deal! We can have a dinner for two for under twenty dollars. The edamame is also included on the happy hour menu. Unfortunately, there are no happy hour drinks during this time. The restaurant is very nice. We have sat at the bar once and at a booth with six people… still very roomy. The patio looks very inviting, so we will for sure try it in the cooler Tulsa months. However, both times we have gone there have been problems with our orders. Both times, we alerted the waitress and she fixed it immediately. They do get busy at the happy hour times, so there is a wait on food. But, it is well worth it!

Really cool place when I walked in. The décor is some of the coolest I’ve seen. However, the service was a bit slow. We had to wait a fair bit to receive attention. Regardless, our waiter was nice and kept on checking on us. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with a seaweed salad for an appetizer. Try seaweed salad was great, standard to say the least. However the eggs benedict were under par. The eggs couldn’t even be considered poached and the hollandaise sauce was mediocre. Additionally the muffin wasn’t great. However the other sides were really good. The breakfast potatoes were thin and we’ll seasoned and the side salad was dressed perfectly. This is definitely a place I’ll visit again, but I would definitely avoid the eggs benedict.

I absolutely love Yokozuna. The design is stylish and fun, the staff is nice and the food is great. Not your«authentic» Asian food stop, but the trendy sushi and ramen bowls are to die for! I love the spicy ramen, but don’t be fooled, it. is. SPICY! Love the El Guapo roll, Geisha’s demise and the roll & a gift! The Flying Lotus cocktail is also incredible!

I’m going to lay it down… It was our fault for not being alarmed when seeing white people make our sushi. Got our water, our fab server didn’t even introduce us her name, left and came back within 2min to take our order… seriously? Since we were ready, she gave us about 10min to get ready. Then we waited for a good 35−40min for three rolls and it wasn’t a full house. We got the famous«hot mess» «nutty Thai professor» and the«Philly roll». The didn’t server didn’t apoolo

This is by far one of the best Sushi bar’s I’ve been to since living in Tulsa. The Sushi was amazing, had some good Saké, and I was most impressed by the service. Our server was named Carly??? I think. She was very helpful in helping me with everything from the chopsticks(which I’m not so great with), to making some great suggestions. I’ll most definitely be returning here again. And I forgot to mention the décor of the restaurant. I’d like for my house to be set up like this place.

I’ve always been a fan of their downtown location, so we thought we would check out this one when we were in the area. The décor is excellent and it has a modern feel with a great balcony seating area we took advantage of. I recommend getting there by 5:45 to take advantage of the happy hour featuring several rolls(like the $ 2.50CA Roll) and $ 3 edamame. I went with the Nutty Thai Professor for my main course. Absolutely delicious. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area or want to branch out from the Brady District /Downtown scene.

Sunday I visited Yokozuna for the first time. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly host. There was immediate seating and when the rest of my party arrived we were seated. Our server was friendly and attentive and gave us great service. I ordered a cup of Miso to start with and then I had a New York Roll and a Route 66 Roll. The Miso was excellent. The Sushi was not bad, it was good but it was not anything exceptional either. The overall atmosphere and cleanliness of Yokozuna was top notch. I’d go back but It was not my favorite sushi that I have had in the great 918.

I love this newer Yokozuna location! Everything about my recent visit was 5 star sexy. Lunch hour isn’t crowded and the ambiance really makes you feel like you get a ‘break’ from work. The modern décor is cool and definitely not overdone and natural light is abundant with lovely large windows. Service is excellent and prompt. Booth, table and bar seating is also available. I started with a hot tea and was brought a huge wooden box to select my choice. For lunch, I opted for the seaweed salad and had an unusual request that they didn’t beat an eye over: a plate of steamed veggies, wonton chips and avocado. I promise I’m not thhhhaaatttt girl but I’m currently pregnant so can’t take advantage of their fish. There are plenty of non-fishy items on the menu, but… I’m pregnant ;) I can’t tell you how much I love Yokozuna. Just trust when I say 5 star sexy(at both locations!)

Had a very good lunch at Yokozuna on a Thursday. It was brisk, but we didn’t wait too long for our food. I like the interior, it’s modern but comfortable. Also, as a couple of Unilocalers have noted, there’s a fun balcony as well. Next time I eat here, I may sit at the sushi bar. It was large and looked comfortable. We had edamame to start, which was nicely salted. To eat, we had the following rolls: the hot mess, the rising sun, the pub roll, and the golden driller. They are large, about 6 pieces each. Of the 4, my favorite, and one of the best rolls I’ve had recently, was the hot mess. It has chipotle cream cheese, jalapeño and imitation crab, tempura fried and topped with a mix of imitation crab and spicy tuna. It’s served with eel sauce, sriracha, and a fried wonton chip on top. This is a great example of textures working, as the crunch from the tempura and wonton chip add so much to this roll. There is some heat, but not too much. It’s large(see the photo), and it can be tough to get it all in one bite. But, when you do, it’s worth it. Can’t wait to order this roll again. The pub roll is seared beef tenderloin with asparagus and fried sweet potato. I found the rice to ingredient ratio off in this roll. That being said, it was good. The rising sun has shrimp, imitation crab, cream cheese, mango and avocado and is served with a rum pineapple sauce. My companion chose this one, and I was worried it was too fruity. But, I really liked it. The sauce is sweet, but not overly so. I’d not had a roll with these flavors, it was refreshing. The golden driller was the simplest roll: tempura shrimp, jalapeño, spicy mayo, and cream cheese. It had some heat, but it wasn’t overpowering. It was a nice roll, but I’ve had a lot of rolls similar to this. I’ll absolutely return, already ready for another Hot Mess…

Finally made it to the new South location about 2 weeks ago. It’s located in the corner of a decent sized strip mall at 91st and Yale(Whole Foods, Smashburger, Upper Crust, a kitchen supply store, a few other restaurants, etc) with plenty of parking. I will mention though that the day we went there was a huge thunderstorm and the parking lot got pretty flooded. Not Yokozuna’s fault of course, just a side note. :) This location is bigger than the downtown location, which is nice. There are some regular tables, booths, banquet seating, sushi bar, and an indoor balcony. There are 2 walls of windows, so the lighting inside is great. The bathroom is modeled off of the downtown location, but it seemed smaller. The tile in there needs a good scrubbing, it already looks worn and gross. It would be less of an issue if the bathroom wasn’t right next to the kitchen entrance… am I the only one bothered by that? Speaking of, as I exited the bathroom I was almost run over by a waiter exiting the kitchen. Strange layout for that area, but oh well. On to the food! Ordered the same rolls we always order at the other location. The quality and presentation is the same so that’s a plus. I had just had my wisdom teeth taken out the previous week so it took me awhile to eat my rolls. I had to cut up a few of them b/c I couldn’t open my mouth very wide — hubby had to go track down a fork for me since our waitress went missing. Made sure to go during happy hour(M-F 3−6pm) for the best deal. We will be back!
