Leon’s Smoke Shack BBQ

We were lucky and scored some seats at the counter. The food is so good here but I could understand why seating may be an issue. Our server was pleasant offered plenty of smiles along with some of the best bbq that I ever had. I opted for the half potato with brisket and pulled pork. I am glad I only ordered the half because the full potato and meat would have been enough to feed my family. I am going back here the next time I am in Tulsa. Thank you!

The never ending debate on who has the best BBQ in Tulsa is at an end. Leon’s Smoke Shack is the real deal! The people are fantastic and so friendly, we come in once a week for lunch and they always remember us and welcome us into this little fine establishment. But let’s talk meat. Best in town! The brisket is phenomenal! Don’t miss a chance to check this place out!

Leon clearly knows what he’s doing when it comes to BBQ. As a non-​local, I asked for a recommendation on the one thing to try — the waitress said the potato with 3 meats, and it did not disappoint. It was a little heavy on the sauce at some points, sometimes you have to let the flavor of the meat speak for itself! But combined with the beans, it was a fantastic meal for under $ 15. You couldn’t touch a meal of that size in Boston for the price. When I’m back in Tulsa, I’ll be back to Leon’s.

Just another bbq joint. Not worth the money! Had the sliced brisket sandwich. The meat was tender and had absolutely no smoke flavor. Hubby had the ribs which were tender but again no smokey flavor. Huge letdown for a place that has smoke shack in the name. We also had «Them» beans, they were not good either, we couldn’t bring ourselves to eat them. I guess when you’ve had good barbecue it’s hard to settle for subpar.
I have to say, the service was good and the people were kind.

If you are in North Tulsa, stop by. «Them» Beans are phenomenal! Don’t forget to get a side of pulled pork or ribs to go with them! They are great too.
Seriously if you have a hankering for great BBQ, find this place.

In town for a day, never been before. Wanted a good lunch fast and came up with Leon’s on Unilocal.Glad I did. Easy, friendly feel to this small «shack» and the waitress was super nice. The food was GREAT! I had a split lunch of baby back ribs and beef brisket. A side of «them beans» topped it off just right. Better than the BBQ I had recently in Texas. Outstanding!

Nice clean place with nice people. Nice smooth jazz playing, nice mood. Tender brisket, good flavor. Good sausage, but no BBQ flavor. Very good beans and potato salad. Mixed the regular and hot sauce to make delicious BBQ sauce. The brisket outer spices were salty, but the meat was not. I enjoyed the place and food. Not a super busy area of town, so trouble getting there or parking. I will go back!!!

What a fabulous little BBQ shack out in the ‘burbs of Tulsa!
We had just picked up our rental car, and were looking for something to eat on our way back towards the hotel. I was cruising through the Unilocal app to see what was nearby, and stumbled across the listing for Leon’s Smoke Shack BBQ on Sheridan Avenue.
Leon’s looks very much like a small roadside diner with it’s smoker shack sitting just outside in the parking lot. The scent of delicious smoking meats hits you as soon as you get out of your car. Inside, the place looks like an aluminum-​skinned luncheonette with high-​topped counter seats, and a few tables and chairs. They have a high shelf over the counter with all sorts of Rte. 66 memorabilia, including classic signs and miniature cars and trucks.
The menu is simple, but very delicious. You’ve got your choice of smoked meat on a sandwich, or on a baked potato, or served as a dinner with sides and white bread. The smoked meat choices are beef brisket, smoked bologna, Hot Links, spare ribs, baby back ribs, pulled pork, and sausage. On the weekends, Leon also has boneless, skinless, smoked chicken breast as well. Your choices for sides include fabulous baked beans, Cole slaw, potato salad, and chips.
I ordered the two meat combo, and had smoked bologna and chopped beef brisket with the baked beans and Cole slaw. That, plus a fountain drink was $ 12, and worth every penny. The folks at Leon’s were super friendly, and the food was fantastic. This is a must-​stop on our next trip back to Tulsa.

Leon knows his way around a rack of ribs! The biggest, juiciest baby backs I’ve ever had! Do yourself a favor and get some BBQ at this spot. Order at will! Everything on the menu is delicious!

Good simple BBQ… Them beans are great as a side. Come here whenever I come through Tulsa. Highly recommend you stop in and give their BBQ a try!

This is some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Leon said he smokes his brisket for 14 hrs and its tasty and moist. I love the BBQ smothered potato, the half potato is plenty of food for anyone.

Amazing atmosphere here, you feel like you are with friends! The BBQ was amazing and I will be back for sure! Had the baked potato topped with brisket, hot links, and pulled pork… Awesome!

Nice dining area and décor. They also offer catering. The 2 meats (brisket and pork) were moist with good smoke flavor. Very large meat portions with good bark too. The smoked beans has a good smoked flavor too. The potato salad was just ok. Overall very good place.

The food is great every time I’ve came here.
Great food and the BBQ sauce is the real thing

We were heading out after being in town for the weekend and hubby asked me to find this place because he had seen one of his high school friends talking about a BBQ baked potato on Facebook. My daughter and I both ordered the 2-​meat baked potatoes with beef brisket and pulled pork. O.M.G. It was humongous and DELICIOUS!!! We couldn’t eat more than a ¼ of ours, respectively, even though my 15-​year old athlete daughter hadn’t eaten anything today before we went to lunch. HUGE. Next time, we would order the half and still just share one order.
Hubby got the mixed ribs dinner with baby back ribs, chopped brisket, baked beans and potato salad. He said, «You don’t need teeth to eat that beef» (referencing another local BBQ spot). He devoured his plate and said he loved it. Seeing as my father-​in-​law makes the best smoked meats I’ve ever had, and my hubby grew up with access to that at any time, this is high praise.
Service was extremely friendly, the restaurant was clean and homey, and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back on our next visit to T-​Town!

No sauce needed on Leon’s ribs! Tender, good smoke flavor and perfectly seasoned is my description ofLeon’s spare ribs. We also had the Bologna and sausage which were delicious too! I told my husband we have found a new BBQ place and his response around a mouth full of ribs was «that’s a really good rib». We will be seeing you again soon!

I had the Brisket and Pulled Pork, both were delicious, tender, and moist. I liked the potato salad but the beans were a little smoky, but I believe they were properly prepared and just didn’t 100% suite my individual taste. I still liked them enough to finish them.
Highly recommend it, and feel that it might be some of the best barbeque in the area.
