Oh, it’s difficult to visit a town and find food that, not only doesn’t poison you, but makes you want to return later. This is one of those really good places. My buddy and I were at the skate park and I asked someone what he liked, rather than spin the Unilocal wheel of cuisine. This was suggested as his favorite place. It’s a humble restaurant with folding tables and chairs in an outdoor dining room. You step up to a window in front of the building. Food is delivered to the side window, near the tables and chairs. They have a big selection of items and some deals, as you can see from some of the photos. I selected an enchilada combo and my buddy ordered a burrito, which somehow became a super burrito. I had the sour cream omitted from my order. With two drinks, everything came to just over $ 23.00, which seemed a bit expensive. When we got the food, the portions were reasonable – the burrito was huge, and super instead of regular, and the enchiladas were completely covered by what I will call salad. The portions of rice and beans were sufficient. While I was digging through the salad, I was enthusiastic about the taste. I could have eaten a whole meal of that. The rice and beans were good, but not unusually so. The enchiladas were everything I expected, although they defaulted to green sauce instead of red. I’ve tried a lot of places over the years, and most places open a can of enchilada sauce and I never return. I could return several times a week to eat at this place, if i didn’t live over two hours away. Even so, I might want to return soon. My buddy considered his burrito very good. I didn’t hear«bomb» or «fire», so I suspect it wasn’t the best he’d ever had. Given that things weren’t exactly as expected, I would deduct half a star, if it was possible. Parking was tight, with only a very small lot able to hold 3 vehicles. As we left, someone had parked a truck on the street and helped us leave the lot, scraping a bit as everyone did.

Have not been satisfied, I don’t go that often I had went a few months back and ordered the wet burrito, it showed that it was supposed to be in red sauce but instead it was in green, since I was already home wasn’t in the mood to call back… Then I go back tonight ordered the enchilada plate which states:8 rolled corn tortillas topped with red sauce and melted cheese; served with rice, refried beans and sour cream, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes There were not 8 rolled corn tortillas, only 2 tortillas, cheese on the inside was not melted, no red sauce, it was green sauce again, no avocado or tomatoes… After a long bad day at work all I wanted was a nice dinner instead I was disappointed!

This place offers great food with a local touch. If you’re from Tulare and Visalia, you know this is the lunch spot. They have fairly good staff and will take out what you don’t like. They’re opened almost all day and is full on the weekends. The wait time is average and you get your money’s worth on almost all the items. However, it’s location is a bit dangerous, because it’s on the corner between a busy street and residential area. You might struggle to find parking. The tacos are good, but a bit pricey.

Stopped by when we were driving home from Visalia to Ventura County based on the Unilocal reviews. Pros My husband had the bean and cheese burrito which I thought was kind of boring until he gave me a bite. Wow was I impressed. The best bean and cheese burrito I have ever had! The beans were flavorful and the cheese which seemed like a mixed variety was melty and amazing. They gave us both green and red salsa and I still am not over how delicious the green salsa was. It was a roasted salsa verde that was the best I have ever had. I am from Oxnard and I am a salsa snob and this was it! Cons I had the tacos dorado which are crispy tacos with carne asada, lettuce and a dried cheese on them which was very salty. The asada a bit dry but the salsa verde totally saved everything. Cons I had the tacos dorado which is a hard shell taco with carne asada, lettuce, and some kind of dried Mexican cheese which was kind of salty. The parking is a bit of a challenge and we had to park in a parking lot next door.

Was on my way back to sacramento, and I mapped mexican food. This is what popped up to be the closes to where I was at. I’m so glad it was because they had the best carnisada quesadilla I have ever had, customer service is amazing. I let the guy know that I was craving spicy so he gave me a whole plate of grilled jalapeños for free, and also some really good spicy red sauce that I didn’t even ask for. I payed about 8 bucks for my food and I couldn’t even finish the second half, really cheap for the amount of food you get so make sure you leave a tip. I wasn’t really tripping about the location of this place because it so worth I TRYIT!!!

Taqueria Guadalajara looked to have all the elements of a dirty-good authentic Mexican roadside meal. Tulare is known for south of the border cuisine authenticity, so I was excited going in. Unfortunately, the end product didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I was rather amused by the look of the place. You can tell that Taqueria Guadalajara wasn’t the first occupant. A cheap paint job covers up old signs advertising burgers and shakes. The sign is even just a hand-painted title next to a soft-serve cone, which they don’t even have on the menu. It all just adds to the charm. That’s why I was somewhat disappointed by the food. My super burrito was huge, enough for four people easily, but it lacked a good variety of ingredients and was heavy on the cabbage. The carne asada was extremely flavorful though. My chicken taco was delicious but contained a couple bones. Others who ordered here thought there food was quite good. Maybe it’s worth a second visit. Judging from my first outting, the food can be hit or miss.

Never really been disappointed food wise but man don’t go on your lunch unless you’ve ordered ahead of time, they take like 30 mins for your food order. Besides the wait really great tasting

Well I ordered the super nachos and wasn’t bad. Maybe they would’ve been better if it wasn’t a 20 minute wait for them. Good quality, not the best customer service but if you got time to kill and want good mexican this is the place! Also I highly recommend the carnitas burrito!

Best food, not just Mexican food, I’ve ever had! In my opinion Oscar and his crew are a gift from God himself. I’ve been there hundreds of times and never once been disappointed or had anything bad to eat. I live 20 miles from there and go at least once a week. The burritos, the tacos, the tortas are mind blowingly good. The Adobada is my favorite thing on their menu. Go, you will not be sorry.

Humankind has always been obsessed with oversized monuments and items: The Great Pyramids, cathedrals, monster trucks, jumbo jets, Playboy Mansions, bbq/buffets/feasts. Everytime I visit my hometown of Tulare, it is tradition I order the Supertorta. For $ 10, you receive the generous portions on an oversized French bread roll. Many restaurants also have a Supertorta for $ 6 – 9. Their miniscule sandwiches are 1⁄3 the size. Filled with your choice of meats: asada, buche(neck), cabeza(head), lengua(beef tongue), al pastor(bbq pork), chicken. With crispy green lettuce, vitamin squirting tomatoes, fresh avocado and thick layers of refried beans as the spread. I might have missed a couple of ingredients but that’s for you to discover. Their red salsa has a good kick. A friend ordered a Super Burrito and his surprised eyes told the story at the $ 15 pricetag. He split it with his girlfriend, and their two kids. All struggled to finish the generous portions. My Supertorta had me preoccupied to the detailed ingredients of the Burrito. One night when they ran out of my two favorite meats so the cooks hooked it up with 2 tacos. Sure you might find some flavoring fat grissle here and there, not always, in authentic Mexican food unlike the bland meat of Tex-Mex. I barbarically spit out the grissle after I chew the flavor out. The fresh guacamole salsa, cheese and onions and cilantro complimented the juicy carne asada. Cabeza is flavorful as well. A higher percentage of you will be satisfied no matter what flavors you prefer.
