Managers there are not very friendly or helpful they look at customers with discus never with a smile. If you don’t have an add it’s not worth going here.

Love their produce and meat department! Always fresh and looks great. Also their chinese food is cooked there and awesome! Sure the store needs a makeover but it wouldn’t stop me from great groceries.

A surprisingly well-stocked market with aisles and aisles of bargains. I say surprisingly because the market’s ramshackle appearance and location off of otherwise unremarkable Bardsley Avenue would lead me to believe this was just a corner store or speciality store. You know, the kind that carries a lot of off-brand products or ethnic goodies that your everyday shopper rarely needs. While they do have a lot of those more obscure commodities, they also carry pretty much anything you’d find at your bigger chain grocery stores. Among the surprises are a comprehensive dairy section with some really high quality brands(after all, this is dairy country so that should be expected) and a vast array of fresh produce. We’ve walked away with everything from obscure gelato to Portuguese olive oils to plump, fresh fruits. Even better, there is rarely a line or a limitation of spots in the parking lot. The busiest I’ve seen it is on the eve of holidays. And the check-out clerks are pretty friendly, so your shopping experience is as hassle free as possible. I don’t shop in Tulare often, but when I do I make this particular R & N the first on my list.

Glad to say that they have fixed all the major issues inside the store. Really impressed by the effort put into the stores appearance.

Yesterday Unilocal said store closed at 8 when it really closed at 7. The store tends to be dirty. I have requested that they carry Powerade Zero in Mtn Berry, Grape and Fruit Punch. It is hit and miss with all of them. Lately they seemed to have stopped carrying it. They do have good chicken in the deli. They used to have great San Francisco potato salad but stopped carrying it too.

Dirty store, cluttered, insulation falling off the rafters, grimy, dingy. Needs a serious makeover.

We used to shop here all the time until the Visalia Times stopped delivering in the Porterville area(we no longer receive the ad). R&N is a small mom and pop chain of grocery stores that dot the southern portion of the San Joaquin Valley. This particular store, along with the store in Visalia, both have a deli that serves decent Chinese-style food. I prefer the Tulare store because it has better produce than the other R&Ns I’ve been to. If you watch their ad, you can get some pretty good deals on produce and other food staples. Strangely enough, while they may lack certain things that you would commonly find at other stores, you would be surprised what things they carry that other stores don’t. For example, we were searching all over the county for a store that sold frozen turnovers at a decent price. We couldn’t find them at bigger stores but found them here. The only problems are: The store looks a bit messy from time to time because they have remodeled the interior at least three times in the last eight years I’ve been going here, so you can see where some aisles used to be, the floor can be uneven in many places. Parking can be a bit of a hassle. They have sufficient parking, but it can fill up pretty quickly. The entrances and exits to the parking lot are a bit small, and you can have some close calls when you are trying to leave when someone else is trying to get in. Not being in the best of neighborhoods, it is highly advisable you lock your car when you go in.

Beautiful produce! Great priced meat and fresh produce. You can get fresh locally produced eggs at a good price. Nice selection of Asian and ethnic items too. Other typical groceries priced ok but not lower than other places I shop. They take coupons but not computer printed ones so thats a bummer!
