The front counter girl was terrible. She had no customer service skills at all. She would rather look at her cell phone then help customers. We waited for some time and then went to the counter to ask about our order and they said it was already taken. We said we did not get it and you did not call our number. We got our money back and left. The man next to us also said the girl at the counter has no customer service skills. We were very disappointed and will never go back there.

I love a good tongue taco. And they did not disappoint! Clean, cold AC, generous servings and gracious service!

Love love love pico de gallo. Rainbow on a plate! The salsa in the squeeze bottle is great. I always get the shrimp tacos on corn tortilla and share a cheese quesadilla. Both are amazing

This is probably the BEST taqueria in town. Every single time I go here the service is friendly and fast, the food is incredible and the prices are great. I love everything on the menu. You can taste the love in the food. I LOVE this place. AND their corn tortillas don’t disintegrate when after the first pick up. They are made there and delicious. Iceberg lettuce on a taco? Nope. Not here. Go here. You’ll be glad you did. Don’t forget to get the pico de gallo fruit cup.

Swung by for lunch and found really affordable tacos and a restaurant full of family photos. I love supporting small businesses and seeing the same family members in photos as behind the counter. I got fish tacos for $ 1.80 each and it came with pickled radishes and limes. Friend got beef and chicken tacos for even cheaper. So good! Can’t wait to go back and try more on their menu. Fast ands friendly service too.

Came here to try the ceviche and ended up loving the carne asada taco instead. The ceviche was good but nothing that really amazed me. But the taco though. Every single component of the dish was SO good. The carne asada was flavorful and super delicious. it was made even better when coupled with the absolutely amazing corn tortilla, which was thick, soft, and sweet. Pickled veggies were great too. An excellent and cheap lunch. Can’t wait to eat here again!

Finally tried this place! So so yummy. Their corn tortillas are literally the best I have ever tasted and they are made fresh in house. The horchata is also high up there on the list of best in the area. I tried the pollo, camaron, and barbacoa tacos. The camaron was breaded like a fish taco usually is so be ready to expect some fried dough and not just shrimp. Nonetheless, it was delicious. The chicken was flavorful compared to most other chicken tacos you find and the barbacoa was well-seasoned and tender. I like that they dress each taco slightly differently and serve a nice helping of pickled onions and carrots on the side. The price also can’t be beat. You’re looking at 3 tacos and a horchata for $ 7 – 8. If you have any space left at the end of your meal, get athe cup of pico de gallo. The fresh fruit with some tangy lime juice and chilli powder is a great way to end the meal and it’s super refreshing! I will be going back often.

Delicious tacos with tasty hand made tortillas. Service was quick and the tacos were on point worth the detour to go into Tucson.

The standard and a classic taqueria, delicious homemade made to order corn tortillas, the meats here are great, and the tacos are really the star of the show here. this is also a great place for the fish tacos, a must have on any of my visits. Also worth trying is the signature dish(cup) Pico de gallo. Refreshfullness!!! One of the south sides best

We took a road trip across the southern part of the US recently, so I did my research in advance of all of the places I wanted to stop and eat at. Since we could never get good Mexican food where we lived previously, I knew a few of our stops would have to be at Mexican restaurants. I found the Taqueria Pico de Gallo on Unilocal and after looking at all of the reviewers’ photos, I was sold. We arrived at peak lunch time, but service was fast nonetheless. We both went for 3 tacos each. I had fish, chicken and carne asada and my husband had lengua, carne asada and fish. The corn tortillas are soft & delicious and each taco seems to have it’s own salsa. Not sure if I could choose a favorite, they were all delicious and you can taste how fresh the ingredients are! I probably would have been fine with 2 tacos, but since I wanted to try more flavors, I ordered 3 tacos but could not finish them. I also tried horchata for the first time and LOVED it What a nice sweet treat. If you like cinnamon, you will like their horchata. My husband and I sat outside because we were with our two dogs, but I would recommend sitting inside if you can as the area is not the best. If I am in Tucson again, I would go back. Curious to try their barbacoa and shrimp varieties of tacos, too!

This is a fantastic taco place on the south side of town. They have just about all the meats you would want of an authentic Mexican taco shop. Their assorted from from barbacoa, cabeza, lengua and a lot more. Their home made corn tortillas are excellent and their horchata is also really good. Overall, I think this is one of the best mexican food places in town. Recommended.

— Corn tortillas made from scratch — Cabeza & lengua tacos — Homemade horchata — Street tacos twice the size of other places(e.g. Street Taco and Beer Co, and Boca) No complaints here.

I am always on the prowl for seafood tacos in this town. Both the shrimp and fish tacos are deep fried & battered and $ 1.80 each. The shrimp tacos here are pretty solid. Well flavored and seasoned with pico and sauce. As far as the fish tacos– the first time I had them I thought they were alright, the second time, there was like literally a toothpick thickness of fish underneath a huge layer of fried batter. I will not get that again here and just stick to the shrimp tacos in the future. You can get it on either corn or flour tortilla– the corn tortilla they use is interesting in that it is very thick. Old, disheveled interior, but the service is pretty fast even during lunch hour.

This is just some seriously authentic Mexican food. I found out about this place from my boss who was raving about the horchata. They make it fresh. It’s the kind of horchata that you have to keep stirring to keep it together. Definitely the best I’ve ever had. The tacos are so well made. The meat is very tender and all the pickled veggies with fresh corn tortillas make for a wonderful, tasty combination. You basically feel as though you are in Mexico here. From the outside to the inside it is very authentic. I didn’t try the pico but it seems very unique.

Tasty! Thanks to Unilocalers for making this place popular. We had a great lunch here. It was my mom’s first time having tongue in the US, let alone in a taco! + fish taco — shrimp taco(didn’t like the thick breading) — pollo taco + carne asada taco + lengua(tongue) taco

Colorful family owned hole in the wall that I feel in love with! This ended up being my second choice for a food stop in Tucson & I’m happy the first one fell through! Located 1 mile away from the highway & in a quaint part of town, it was a great find. The parking is small but we were lucky enough to snag a few spots(driving a Uhaul & a SUV on a dolly was tricky enough, parking was an issue throughout this road trip). The staff are very friendly & I wish my spanish was better but they didn’t make me feel bad about it. You order at the counter, pay, receive your drinks & wait for them to call your number to go pick it up yourself. Another side note, you need to get the key from the register to use the restrooms. The menu has 8 – 10 items which in my opinion means that whatever is on it is going rock my world! We ordered the chicken tacos(2), the carne asada tacos(2), a small cheese quesadilla, a side a rice & beans & fresh made limonadas to drink & a homemade flan, all for 20 $ including tip, score!!! Both flour & corn tortillas are made in house & per order. I haven’t said this before but I actually regret not getting both of my tacos with corn tortillas, it was damn delicious. Not dry & overly greasy just perfect. The pickled sides for the tacos added beautiful color to the dishes & the beans were some of the best I’ve ever had although I do believe 3.00 $ for a rice & beans side is overpriced. The limonada was refreshing. The flan was delectable & was a great final to our meal! Make your tastebuds happy in this small joint!

Anytime a place has like 8 items on an old dilapidated plastic marquee inside of a ramshackle DIY mobile home kinda building you know they are focusing on the food. I barely noticed the squeaky linoleum floor bouncing as I walked in because the aromas of fresh handmade tortillas, grilled meats and pico de gallo possessed me immediately. The carne asada and fish tacos were a no-brainer. These were the freshest and most authentic tortillas de maiz I’ve had in Tucson thus far. Everything from the perfect rice to the delicious accents of pickled onions and carrots made this meal outstanding. The horchata is like none other. Creamy with just the right amount of canela. No watered down sugar water here. The jamaica I tried was a little less successful. It could have used a stronger hibiscus flavor and a little more sweetness. Over all a great simple and authentic taqueria that I would highly recommend.

Great taqueria with some awesome food. The ambiance is, well, lacking… but it is the place to go for some amazing tacos with corn tortillas made from scratch. My favorites are the chicken taco, barabacoa, and lengua. Seriously, try the lengua… it is incredibly juicy and tender. The thick, homemade, chewy corn tortillas are really the perfect vessel for all that flavor. The horchata is also oh-so-refreshing –especially on a hot summer day in Tucson. My least favorite was the fish taco. For me, the amount of mayo kinda ruined it for me. But you should definitely try it for yourself because many others rave about it and I’m just not too crazy about fish tacos in general. The carne asada was also just meh. Was a little dry and under-seasoned.

Yummy hole in the wall :) Don’t let the exterior scare you away. I like to say, in Tucson; the shadier the better. Food: +Fish Taco– not bad but the pieces of fish were small so I felt like I was eating more breading. +Barbacoa– oh my yes! The meat is tender, moist, full of flavor, and just delicious. Best in town so far in my book All tacos are $ 1.60ish, burritos $ 6, they have plates and daily specials. Cheap place for some good food.

HOLEINTHEWALL. having moved to Tucson from NYC i was SHOCKED at the cheap prices, unheard of! GETTHEREEARLY by 1:30 pm they were already out of their popular cabeza & fish tacos! early bird gets the worm HOMEMADE corn tortillas, thicker than your normal corn tortilla so each taco is a bit more filling, & each taco comes w/pickled carrots, onions, & lime –camaron taco: the shrimp had a nice breading so i can imagine the fish tacos would’ve been good too –birria stew taco: i liked this taco too but if it were up to me, i’d make it lonenly on it’s own plate since the juices sogged up my other tacos! –lengua taco: SKIP, that meat was not enjoyable –horchata: solid good NOTE: plenty of parking in the lot!
