UPDATEFORYOUFANS * Day olds are now $ 2 a loaf – still a great deal. * Get«fresh» day olds on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 1:30 or 2:00 p.m. They are available on other days, too, but that’s when they come back to them. * Fresh bread out of the oven is available after 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. * As of this writing, the planned thoroughfare project is claiming their building for eminent domain. They will be moving so stay in the loop. My first visit here. Friendly guy. They are a bakery factory supplying bread made of organic wheat flour to the likes of Sprouts, etc. It is a factory, so the pics by Monica E. are accurate. Kind of difficult to figure out the parking. Basically park anywhere you can. Bought day old Raisin Cinnamon, Vegie(their spelling), and Pel’s 4 Grain Breakfast Bread. Already tried the Raisin Cinnamon and Vegie. Both very good. Hearty bread without having the texture and thickness of adobe bricks. The Vegie is a new experience for me. Good and savory. Yummy as toast with butter. Would be very good with soup. I’m sure a turkey sandwich would be great on this bread. Very minimal ingredients. No preservatives or chemicals. No stupid raisin juice for flavoring. I hate that stuff in breads. Yuck. As far as I can tell, they all have gluten in it, though. Other varieties like whole wheat sour dough. Check it out and get some great bread for a little dough.

The place has been in business for something like 30 years! How have I never heard about it before. Unilocal introduced me to this hot little spot. I was in the area one afternoon and opted to stop by. First thing to know: Arrive closer to 5 p.m. when you’ll have a better chance at getting the loafs right out of the oven. To find the bakery, you will enter a tiny door up a short flight of stairs. It took me a little bit to find it because it doesn’t carry the appearance of a bakery. You may be looking for a space where you can see the bakery from the outside; floor to wall glass windows looking in. Not this place. The bakery is situated in an old industrial building. Stepping into the place, you’d think — no way. I am clearly in the wrong location. Nope. You’ve found the spot. If you show up at the off hours, the baker will lead you to a large step-in refrigerator where you have a choice of pickings. They offer discounts on the day-old stuff. They sale the lot of bread: white, wheat, marble, sourdough, etc. They also have flavored breads. My abolute favorite: the mini vegetable rolls. If nothing else, you must go for these wonderful little rolls. They are perfect for dipping in soup, for warming slightly and eating bare or for eating with a tad bit of butter. Good find. It has the feel of Tucson-traditional all over it!

Come for the $ 1.50 day old bread!!! Love their bread!!! So delicious and all the different varieties are amazing. The bakery smells great and you can see all the fresh loaves baking and coming out of the ovens. They sell at a lot of local farmers markets and grocery store, but if you can, I suggest coming to the actual bakery!!! It is soooo worth it.

Some of the best bread in Arizona and well-worth seeking out. Organic flour and other natural ingredients make it healthy, too. I love their Pecan Sour, Cinnamon Raisin, and Orange Cranberry Pecan for breakfast. I usually just toast a couple of slices and slather the butter on, but it also makes for some great French toast when I have the time. Bonus: if you stop by the bakery you can get day-old bread for $ 1.50 a loaf!

I’ve had a love affair with SPB Bread since the first time I saw it at the Food Conspiracy CoOp in the 80s. I always stop at the booth when I get to the Santa Cruz River Farmers’ Market. I get friendly caring customer service always!

A great bakery. Tucson’s lucky to have a few gems and this is certainly one.

Veggie Bread is the best! Hands down! It has been my favorite for years, since I was kid I’ve been eating it. I’m trying to figure out how to get some up to Flagstaff.
