I came for a cut because I had a certificate(I think it was for $ 25). I will give them two stars because I got a really awesome haircut and blow dry. I was nervous about getting it cut short but I ended up liking it. Aside from the haircut… the guy that cut my hair was nice and professional… but the owner was yelling and belittling the assistant that worked there. It was horrifying. It was like he hired the assistant just so he could mentally abuse him and take his problems out on him. It was embarrassing to watch! I would NOT go back there even if I had a coupon for a free haircut!

Glorified Supercuts! I was less than impressed to say the least! First off, I waited almost a half hour for my stylist. No one even offered me a water and I was barely greeted. I had looked online at the prices ahead of time and based on how expensive it was I was expecting a swanky salon. This was far from anything fancy! In fact I spent my visit thinking of the show Tabatha’s Salon Takeover! What a mess! Now my stylist did a nice job and even blew dry my hair, but when it came time to pay I was in for a surprise! I had booked a trim, which according to the website, costs $ 20. The man who rang me up advised that my trim was going to be $ 55! Sheesh! I can only imagine what a cut and color would run! Aside from the outdated salon that wasn’t impressive, I was also disappointed with the staff. During my $ 55 trim, the fellow stylists talked about drugs and blow jobs! I will not return and I will be sure to spread the word about this rip off!

I have been going to Metropolis Hair Salon for a couple months now. I have only gone there to get my Nails done but I must say, she does a pretty good job! My manicurist is Liz and she is always friendly and polite, and actually listens to what my needs are! I will definitely continue to go there as long as I continue to get my nails done! Would definitely suggest this place to anybody lookin for a good deal and fast, friendly service! =)

Probably the worst mani/pedi I have ever gotten. I think a 5-year-old could have done a better job. I went home and redid it myself!

I had a Living Social coupon, and paid extra to get a shellac pedicure, along with my shellac manicure. I have gone to many spa and manicure salons, and this was one of the worst I’ve ever gotten. I was amazed to see a 4+ rating here, until I found that there were 13 filtered reviews — 9 of those being 1’s. I really think the filter system needs to be reviewed. Several of the one ratings described the same experience I had, and had I known how bad it was, I would not have wasted my money on the coupon. After over 20 years of getting pedicures, I just got my first ever toe fungus from this salon — people need to be warned about how bad it is, and Unilocal is not doing anyone any favors by filtering out the bad reviews. Many of those filtered reviews were more recent than those that were posted, and probably valid.

I’m surprised there aren’t any reviews for this place yet, it’s been around for some time! Anyway, I went there for the first time about a month ago and got the best cut and color I’ve had in 25 years of having my hair cut and colored. And I’ve gone to lots of established and expensive salons. Michael did something very few hairstylists seem to do and actually LISTENED to what I wanted, and DID it. Definitely going back.

Whatever you do, don’t go here for your Brazillian Blowout!!! Know a couple people who went here & were not happy. They had it done at other salons & had a completely different result!!! I don’t know if they didn’t use if enough solution or it was diluted, but I know when my friend got it done elsewhere her hair was bone straight & when she got it done at this salon it wasn’t even half as straight!!! BEWARE!!!(Hide)

When I took my husband to my hairdresser to redo a cut by Emery two weeks later, my hairdresser was mortified. She took her first section of his hair and pulled it up, and couldn’t believe what she saw. She said either this person did not know how to cut hair, or it was done on purpose. Paying all that money to someone who will deliberately botch the job or obviously doesn’t know how to cut hair is an insult to one’s intelligence. There was the proof, right before our eyes. Why else would you need to fix a cut two weeks after you had one? I’d rather have a skilled hairdresser that knows what they’re doing and deliver a precise cut rather than being impressed with all the PR and marketing that brings attention to their business, let alone all the clientele he brags to everyone about. I would like to think I am paying for a good cut, and not all the ambiance and B.S. to try to make me feel special. I am not impressed with this person in the least, his craft or personality and suggest if you want a decent cut, to NOT have the owner touch your head.

Oh, how I love to be the first to review this place… okay, here goes. Let me start off by saying this review is based on one experience three years ago with a lady who may not even work there(so, go at your own risk!). That said, my one and only time here was AWFUL!!! I’d been growing out my hair to donate to Locks of Love and my hair was down to my butt. I finally decided that I was ready to cut and donate. My mom happened to have a gift certificate to this salon(the person who purchased it is a cruel, cruel person). I decided to give it a try and we scheduled appointments for myself and my sister. My sister had a really pleasant experience with a young blond lady who listened to what she wanted, modified it a bit to fit her face, and damnit if my sister didn’t come out looking gorgeous! I, however, was not so lucky. I was stuck with a fire-haired woman in her mid to late 40s with smoker’s voice and a serious attitude problem. I told her I wanted my hair cut, but since I was used to it being so long, I wanted it left just past my shoulders. I told her I wanted layers as I’d had them before and loved them. Well, she let me talk(don’t confuse this with having«listened» to me). When I was done, she said, «No. Here’s what we’re gonna do. You have a lot of hair, so this will be fun for me to work with.» I was scared and should have gotten up that instant. She washed my hair and was pretty rough – another sign I should have put on the brakes. She tugged and pulled with the comb(after I’d told her I was extremely tender headed). She announced loudly that I had a «dandruff problem probably due to, ‘cheap shampoo’,» How humiliating for me as the salon was crowded with girls getting prom hair done and all of them gave me looks like they felt my embarassment. She then started cutting away. With the first cut, I knewww she’d cut too much as I could feel all of my neck exposed. Oh, boy. it only got worse. My mom came over to see how I was doing as I was giving her the«help!» look from across the salon. This b-word chopping away at my then-beautiful hair. My mom asked if I’d be able to donate my hair still and the lady said«No! Its been dyed! With cheap dye, I’ll add! We can’t give that to them.» Okay, so it was dyed. I understand. But to once more say that I used«cheap» products? What an insult! At this point, even other stylists(including the one working away on my sister) started looking over at this evil woman and whispering. It should be noted that she was carrying on a conversation the ENTIRE time she was doing my hair. With who? I couldn’t tell you, but she was barely ever looking at my hair has she cut, cut, cut away. I wanted to get up and run. I wanted to cry. Each glimpse I caught of myself in the mirror made my stomach hurt. I think my mom saw the distress on my face because she came over and asked how things were going. At this point, the stylist – though I don’t think she deserves to use that title – said to my mom, «Mom, what do you do for a living?» My mom, taking this to be a friendly conversation starter said smiling, «Oh! I’m a nurse at the – » stylist interrupts her and says, «Okay, well I don’t go to the hospital and bother you while you’re working, I’d appreciate the same.» That was it. She finally finished and without even looking in the mirror, I got up and walked away from her. I saw my reflection in the mirror in the lobby and saw the look on both my boyfriend and my mom’s faces and they said, «Oh, wow. What happened?» I went to the car and bawled my eyes out. A year and a half of growing my hair to donate had led to this and I didn’t get to give my hair to someone who might need it. The manager saw my mom go to the car and asked if I was okay. My mom told them the situation and everything the stylist had said and done and the manager said it was all taken care of and not to worrry – the hair cut was on the house. They even offered me free fixing up from another stylist. I declined and just went home. If you go here and you see this old witch still working there, run… fast! Or, stay and tell her off like I wish I had three years ago. It took over a year for me to get brave enough to let another hairdresser touch my head. I was traumatized. Not just from how I looked, but the way the lady made me feel the entire time. Skip this place. It deserves less than one star.
