Not impressed. I ordered phở and thought it was disgusting. I had never had it before so I could just dislike that type of food. My fiancé and I both love sushi so he decided to order some rolls. He said that they were not that great. Not bad but not a place we would try again. At least not for phở or sushi.

I work at a nearby business and we really wanted to try some sushi that was close by. We were pretty disappointed by Kyo Sushi. The sushi was not rolled very well and the pieces are much too big to eat — rice just falls apart and goes everywhere! The person who helped us could not give us any details about the rolls… what was in them, what types they had, etc. I ended up ordering the Melody Roll and specified no spicy crab salad. I also ordered a shrimp tempura(which is a roll, not an appetizer-style dish like most places) and specified no cream cheese. Neither of my requests were met and all of the ingredients were in both rolls. I couldn’t eat them! Also, the Melody Roll was marked as a roll with«crunch» on the outside, which was not true! The food took a while to make, and the Las Vegas rolls my friend got weren’t very good either. The Chinese food here is okay, but you’d be much better off going a mile down the road and trying Luckie’s or China View. Overall, we won’t be back!

5 stars is for the Vietnamese food. I can’t speak to the sushi or the Chinese food as I have not ordered it, nor am I interested in it when I know the Vietnamese food here is the best! The phở here is amazing, and huge! I have never been able to finish a bowl on my own. It got to the point where my husband and I would just order one bowl so that we could just share. The cool thing is the waitress that works there gave us little bowls along with the huge bowl of phở so we could use them to split the bowl. I wouldn’t recommend coming here with a large group unless you are willing to wait a while. There is usually only ONE waitress. We brought a huge group once, and I just felt so terrible for her, because it so happened that day was incredibly busy without our group being there. Anyway, get the phở when you come here. Actually, get any of the Vietnamese food and you won’t be disappointed. Boba tea is great here, and if you want an appetizer, I definitely recommend the spicy chicken wings. They are to die for.

I would have to disagree with Ed. I went to Kyo Sushi before the changes and I really didn’t care for the place. But now after the changes it is one of my favorite sushi places! The staff are really kind and always helpful. The sushi is good, the food of the other menu is good also. I’ve never ate anything here I didn’t like!

Owner change + chef change = completely awful sushi now. Expired fish and poorly made rolls. I gave it 3 chances even after the change(I’m WAY more forgiving than most people I think) and it disappointed each time. Go drive to Sushi King on Ft. Lowell and Campbell and you’ll get better sushi than a lot of places in Los Angeles. It’s worth it to avoid this place.

The best turnout of Too Cool for Tuesday so far was at Kyo Sushi. I had sashimi and a soft shell crab roll and it was decent, medium portions. What makes the place very good I think is the location, closest sushi place to where I work. It’s in Rita Ranch by the Safeway there.
