I will be the first to say I am not the easiest client, nor am I the most organized. Consequently, that is why I chose a local agent to work for me. I could get the insurance online cheaper but I wanted to call someone directly and have me questions and concerns answered. My introduction to the agency was good. A young aggressive sales person Adam(the son in law of the owner) called on me. He was hungry and responsive and his rate was good so I gave him a small piece of the business GL. He continued to give good service so I gave the commercial auto, workman’s comp. As time went on the response became extremely bad. The MVD said they had no record of my insurance. My assistant called and asked them to send it; eventually the did; however, I kept getting pulled over for no insurance. Apparently, the reason this happened is Katie(the owner’s daughter) has dyslexia and transposed three vehicles VIN numbers backwards. This is what she told my wife when she stopped in the office to rectify the problem. An employee got a ticket for no insurance in the company vehicle that he failed to report. The MVD canceled my plate and I was pulled over for driving on an canceled plate and forced to pay a fine and get an SR22. Not their fault; however, the lack of response to the original requests and the wrong VIN # created the problem. Later in the relationship, many calls to the office were only answered by an assistant who could not help but assured me I would get a return call, that usually did not come for a week or two. My final issue with the agency occurred when my bank account was compromised and the bank canceled my card and issued a new one. I called the agency five times before I received a call back from Adam. I told him I needed to add a new card to the EFT or make a credit card payment. He said he would get back to me on what to do. I informed him it was important, that I did not want to be canceled. He assured me it would be taken care of. I called two more times and the next call I received was from his wife, The owners daughter, my renewal came up and because no card on file I was not renewed. However I could have them quote a new policy. On a few occasions I got rough with them verbally, due to their lack of responsiveness. So perhaps they thought my business was not worth it or they are just totally incompetent. Either way
