Fantastic lunch. The bentos are very nice sized. The tempura was great. The chicken katsu was delicious. Ordered a caterpillar roll to start and that was awesome too.

Great sushi, very reasonably priced. This was the first time my boyfriend and I have been here, it was definitely worth it. Our favorites were the Hawaiian Roll and the Yummy Roll. We will be going there again for sure.

WOW! First of all, the Monkey balls are incredible. Fried salmon stuffed mushrooms with eel sauce. We also had the Seis Avenida roll(sixth ave) and the Bear Down roll, YUMMY! Will definitely come back for their LUNCHSPECIAL which is Mon –Fri from 11:00 to 2:30. And most importantly, excellent customer service

Quiet and tucked away, I am afraid the location of K Japanaese will hold back from its potential. We ordered 4 rolls and everyone one of them was perfect! Started off with a thin bowl of Miso Soup with one leaf and no tofu. But we were pleasantly surprised with the remainder of our meal. Vegas Roll was the best we’ve had of late. Fresh ingredients, and you can tell it was made to order, not prepped earlier in the day. YUMMY Roll lives up to its name. A nice blend of crunchy and soft and I felt like I cold taste every fish included. The massago threw me off a little, and may be unneeded, but all in all, try this roll for something delish! Baked Scallop Roll was amazing! First time I’ve had this roll and it was torched in front of us. Scallops were perfectly proportioned to the thin layer of rice, and just enough of the spicy mayo. My husband ate the entire Alaskan Roll by himself, as I’m not a fan. He gave it a thumbs up. Restaurant was clean, service quick and friendly.

So yummy and fresh! This place has a very good selection of sushi. You can choose from basic as well as more unique rolls. Every roll we tried had such fresh ingredients. Next time we will try the ramen!

Unagi don is pretty good and decent price. Love the curry don! Huge portion, and crispy fried chicken with yummy mild Japanese curry sauce. My only hiccup about this place is the service, I guess the waitress is also the owner? She seems nice but act pretty cold in terms of attend guest.

I was pleasantly surprised when I visited K Japanese. The menu had a wide arrangement of Japanese dishes that interested me. I came an hour earlier than the typical dinner time and there was only one other table. Where was everybody? There was only one waitress and the service was excellent. I had their unagi bowl and some ramen. The broth in the ramen was superb. The noodles were al dente and not soggy. It was their miso broth and its slight kick that made me fall in love with the dish. The unagi was also very delicious and nicely presented. The décor was bright and airy, surrounded by Japanese paraphernalia. My only criticisms here was that the teriyaki salmon don was run of the mill tasting and was $ 1-$ 2 more than other places here in town. Also, since the ramen was $ 2 more($ 11.95 total) to get very thin slices of pork belly compared to other restaurants, I would not order it again. Many restaurants here in Tucson offer pork belly and ramen for under $ 10. In Phoenix and California it is $ 8-$ 9. I’m very eager to come back to try their other dishes.

My girlfriend and I have been here a countless amount of times and each visit has been GREAT! I am always on the hunt for good sushi and let me tell you, the sushi here will have you coming back for more! On top of that, all of the entrée items I have tried here are absolutely DELICIOUS! I recommend trying the salmon skin roll and the monkey balls! K Japanese has a relaxing atmosphere and the folks here are very nice and friendly. I really enjoy the music selection(modern to Japanese music to soundtracks from Final Fantasy!)

Menu on FLEEK! Hands down my favorite Japanese restaurant in Tucson. The sushi is great, but the Japanese cuisine is AWESOME! I’ve tried almost all of appetizers(and most of the entrees, too) on the menu, and I have never been disappointed. It’s never, EVER busy. You don’t have to deal with the crowds or the wait here. Atmosphere wise, I notice that they have the same song playlist every time I’m there, which brings back lots of previous memories of J-Dramas, K-drama, Final Fantasy. xD When my boyfriend and I go there, we usually get Tonkastu Pork Curry, and pair it with Salmon Skin Roll(both the best we’ve ever had), and any appetizer. I would list all of my favorites, but then I’d be rewriting the menu.

We are HUGE sushi lovers and have been to various spots around town. I can honestly say that K’s Sushi never disappoints. The texture, density, freshness and flavor of the sushi is always on fleek! Stop by you won’t be disappointed. Definitely try the Aburi Salmon too. Its unique to this place and its BOMB! Be patient during peak times cuz Howard, the owner, is the only one serving fish. Hes a master at his craft and well worth the wait!

K Japanese restaurant had better sushi than the places that I’ve been to in the past. I went here with my friend for dinner during a weekday, and it wasn’t busy — we were seated immediately. It was conveniently located since I was a student at the University of Arizona, and it was very accessible. Plus, I liked that it was locally owned, and it was authentic Japanese food. The chef definitely put a lot of time and effort into making the dishes. My friend got the spicy salmon don, and it had super cute star-shaped vegetables inside the bowl. I don’t know of any other restaurant that serves star shaped vegetables! I ordered the non-spicy«spicy» salmon bowl(sorry I’m weak, I cry and sweat with spice). The salmon bowl came with sushi rice and I loved the taste and everything about it. As for the service, my friend and I both thought that the waitress was a bit awkward with the service, but that was completely excusable since we didn’t really require much service anyway. Plus, the most important part of the restaurant(the food) was spectacular. Overall fun experience — I would go back, and take others with me.

We decided to go out for Japanese, so I picked a restaurant with good Unilocal reviews and we headed over. When we got there, the waitress said sushi would take 40 minutes. Fine. Whatever. By the time our drinks came, the wait was up to an hour and a half. We decided to drive down the street to K Japanese. We arrived and sat down, and there were 4 – 5 other tables in the restaurant with one waitress. We ordered, and sat there for over an hour waiting for our food. Mine came out first, and I was completely finished eating by the time my mom got hers. No apology from the waitress. No nothing. The table next to us waited even longer to get theirs, and appeared just as annoyed as we were. Getting a glass of water was like pulling teeth. I saw a man at another table get up and grab napkins for his whole table. Only two people working(waitress and chef) in a restaurant on a Friday night is pretty unprofessional. Rough night. The food wasn’t bad, but the whole saga killed my buzz. Definitely would not recommend this place.

Decided to give this place a try since a friend and I were craving ramen and had seen some good reviews about the ramen here. I’m glad we decided to try this place because it did not disappoint! We spilt a seaweed salad appetizer which was plenty for the two of us. It was pretty standard seaweed salad and had good flavor. For the ramen you get a choice of broth, type of noodle and meat/veggies. I just got the classic tonkatsu broth with ramen and chicken. The broth was flavorful and nice and hot which was great. The chicken was super tender! It also comes with bean sprouts and sweet corn kernels which was a nice addition. I would definitely come back here if I was ever craving ramen and would like to try their sushi next time! They were not very busy but the service was great and the server was very attentive and friendly.

W O W !! Definite 5 Stars This is a cute little family owned style restruant. You walk through the front doors and you can sit at the(alcohol) bar area, or get seated by the hostess/server at the sushi bar or table. It has the typical Japanese décor with the wooden tables, nothing too out of the ordinary. Food was BEYOND amazing. Frankly, I was surprised at how much I liked their food. We started off with some appetizers. Baked green mussels and monkey balls. Appetizers range from $ 5 – 8. The mussels were perfect — saucy, mild spicy kick, and they even mixed the rice underneath the mussels. Monkey balls(I think it’s also called Monkey brains) are fried mushrooms stuffed with spicy tuna drizzled in some sauce. If you haven’t had this before, I highly recommend it! I used to always stay away from this because of the name; but I assure you there are no parts of any monkey in anyway in this. As for the entrees, we ordered the miso ramen, tonkatsu ramen, and spicy salmon don. I had a sample of all of these and I have to say they were all pretty darn good. The spicy salmon don seemed small at first but it’s actually a pretty compact bowl full of rice and a good serving of fish. The ramen was chewy but soft, perfect in my book. The only thing I wished was that my miso broth had a stronger miso taste. I couldn’t really tell the two broths apart. Good, but not distinct enough. For sides, we ordered a few rolls: Alaska, SOS, and baked spicy scallop. All which were really good! Prices were all pretty average. Appetizers were $ 5 – 8. Sushi rolls were $ 6 – 12 depending on how fancy and complicated. Ramen was $ 9 – 12 depending if you upgraded the meat to Char Sui which was ~$ 3 more than the regular beef or chicken. I say, for the taste, amount, and quality of the food, the price is very fair. Lastly, service. I’d like to point out how AMAZING our service was. Family owned type places usually have really bad(being understaffed, etc) or really good service. Thank the Lord this one was beyond good! It made our experience here SO much more enjoyable when someone is there helping us and seems to actually care about their customers. They were all so nice and accommodating for us in every way. I can’t wait to come back! Recommendations: — baked mussels — monkey balls — ramen(best in town) — Alaska roll Environment: 4⁄5 Food: 5⁄5 Price: 4⁄5 Service: 5⁄5

This review is for the ramen. Super impressed! You know the ramen is good when more than 50% of the patrons are Asians audibly slurping their noodles. I like that they break it down so that you choose your broth(miso, tonkatsu, soy), noodle(udon, soba, ramen), and meat/topping(chicken, beef, tempura, chinese bbq pork, veggies, or seafood). I went for the tonkatsu ramen with chicken. I was scared at first that I would get these hard pieces of chicken floating around but I was so pleasantly surprised. The tonkatsu broth was meaty and delicious without being greasy. Perfect amount of salt, too. The ramen noodles were also legit –no soggy limp noodles here. The chicken slices are silky soft as they have been prepared by velveting prior to being added to the soup. Velveting is super common in Chinese cooking and results in the most tender chicken imaginable. The soft-boiled egg was the texture it should be and the corn and bean sprouts gave a nice crunch. The slice of swirly fish cake was like the cherry on a sundae. Mmmm. It will be hard for me to try the other food here because the ramen is so good I’ll want to get that every time. Try it, you won’t regret it!

We stopped in to enjoy some pretty good sushi and delicious ramen a few nights ago. I’m not sure what it is about this location but it just doesn’t get the attention it deserves. I used to enjoy Yuki’s and their amazing happy hour but it was always dead and unfortunately they eventually closed. We walked in here during prime dinner hour and we were the only people inside except a man that later walked in to sit at the sushi bar. I don’t get it. Anyway the restaurant was nice and clean and our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered three sushi rolls and a bowl of ramen. The rolls were the Alaskan, Seis Avenida and Firecracker. All three tasted great although the jalapeño in them wasn’t very spicy. The ramen was delicious and I just don’t order that very often so I don’t have much to compare it to but this one was great. The décor has been left untouched from when it was Yuki’s. The roll menu is extensive with pretty good variety and prices are fair. I hope they are able to make it here.

It’s too bad this place is hidden from the street as it’s a good Japanese food addition to this town! My fiancée, who is a Ramen fiend, thought the broth was pretty flavorful and that the Ramen noodles were much fresher than that at Samurai’s. One plus is that they have a good amount of vegetarian options. I had the Tofu & Vegetable Teppanyaki which was great. They pour the dish on a hot plate in front of you so you get to watch it sizzzzle. Clean, spacious interior and great service. I’ll be back to try the chicken katsu curry or the unagi bowl!

They have poke /poki salad and it’s legitimate and delicious. It’s not just tuna mixed with seaweed salad as you might find in other places; it’s the real thing(Japanese style). You should be heading toward the restaurant right now. Most importantly, they have ramen, and it is also legitimate and delicious. You choose your soup base, noodles, and toppings. Ever wanted to have udon with tonkotsu broth? You can do that here. The ramen is cooked perfectly and you can add a variety of toppings to the standard fare. They have a good list of rolls but with the high quality of fish here, I would recommend nigiri or chirashi. Rich’s recommendation: this is a top three ramen spot. Get it.
