Good news/bad news here…mostly bad and I doubt I will ever return here for care. I got the feeling that all the doctor wanted to do was sell me products. She was a very poor listener. While I appreciate the professionalism of “Louise,” who works in optical/eyewear, I was really baffled by their policy of: if you “opt out” of allowing them to text you (to let you know that your glasses are ready) then YOU NEVER RECEIVE A PHONE CALL! I guess they are incapable of picking up the phone and placing a simple call to their customers! My new glasses had been in for a full week. If I hadn’t called who knows if they ever would have bothered. The receptionist, “Sylvia,” is a blithering idiot.

From the minute my husband and i came through the door wr were treated well by all members of staff. Clarissa helped us with our selection process and we left happy knowing that if we have any issues with our eyes, AVC will take care of us!

I’ve been going here for years. The service has always been top notch. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. They have an Optomap retinal exam that takes a picture of your eye, which is way better than using the old dilating drops. They have a wonderful selection of frames, sunglasses, children’s. Prescription sunglasses were a game changer for me. The brands they carry are higher end, big names. So they can be pricey, though they have a good mix. The only problem lately had been a turnover of doctors. Not sure why, but it’s not a big deal, maybe just a little frustrating.

Excellent staff. I was given a new appt same day at no charge when we realized I needed more time to test for contact lenses. Pricing with my insurance was discounted and I could pay in 3 installments-perfect! They are very knowledgable and considerate. Charly was wonderful and patient to teach me how to use contacts. I have complete confidence in this office to handle all my needs. I will be going back!

If I could give this place NO stars, I would! This place could have KILLED my baby. And I’m not exaggerating. While waiting to pick up my glasses, my mom handed my 9-month-old daughter one of the toys in the waiting area, a plastic monster with a squeezable tummy, like bath toys often have. She was happily crawling around with it when we noticed a trail of liquid following her. I picked her up to see if her diaper leaking, and immediately smelled BLEACH. Yes, this toy the office had for kids was full of BLEACH. I shook the monster and sure enough you could hear the liquid inside. I immediately brought it to the front desk and let then know of the problem. All she said was«sorry.» It appears they clean these toys with bleach. We are all lucky that my daughter didn’t put that toy in her mouth and drink the bleach. I still can’t believe it. But if you don’t have kids, let me tell you about the service I received a week earlier, before they tried to kill my child. I went in to get a new prescription for glasses, and was attended thirty minutes after my appointed time even though I arrived fifteen minutes early to fill out paperwork. Two techs led me through a long series of tests barely saying a word to me, as one was training the other. I mentioned that I sad interested in getting contacts for occasional use. At some point a third tech took over. Then I was led to a room where a fourth tech asked me a series of questions. Finally the doctor came in, she seemed very nice, but was quite annoyed when after doing all the work for a contact lens fitting, I asked about my glasses. She said she was told I was here for contacts. We had to do a different series of tests and questions, and finally another tech was called to guide me through picking glasses. This woman was sour and acted like I had personally ruined her day from the moment she was assigned to help me. She was terse and rude when I asked questions. I was brought a bill for contacts, 3 month supply for $ 500. What the hell? I paid $ 300 for my year’s supply last time, so I said no thank you to the contacts. Shortly after, a tech brought my full bill, which included a $ 150 charge for the contacts fitting which wasn’t covered by my insurance, and a $ 40 fee for a test that«no insurance covers yet»(the tech’s words when I asked). As I had my baby, husband, and preschool daughter there with me, who had been waiting for an hour, I didn’t stay to argue about these ridiculous charges and the awful experience I had. I just wanted to get out of there. I returned a week later to talk to a billing specialist(the only polite and nice person I spoke to in that place) who later returned half of $ 190 to me, saying she couldn’t give me a full refund for services I didn’t request because the doctor had to get paid for her time. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. They give out cards saying«if you give us 5 stars we’ll send you a $ 5 Starbucks gift card.» They couldn’t have paid me enough to give them a 5 star rating even before they almost poisoned my child with bleach. EDIT: I’m writing this edit in order to reply to the comment from AVC, which basically tries to dismiss my review and make everything my fault. To your point that the toy was«left by another child» — I understand that this happens, but it was also improperly«WASHED» with bleach by YOUR office and staff, and placed with your toys, so therefore I still hold your office accountable for what happened. I’m a fan of waiting rooms containing toys, but have never run across one that isn’t EXTREMELYCAREFUL of how they are presented. They are after all handled by CHILDREN. As for your comment that you«can’t change my insurance coverage» — are you really trying to blame ME for the fact that your staff had a miscommunication? Saying that I’m interested in looking into contacts does not mean«give me contacts only» — it means«I’d like to discuss this option with an expert, which you are supposed to be, probably after the main reason for my visit(glasses) has been addressed.» In the end, I wasted some of my hard-earned money paying for your staff’s miscommunication. I wrote this review to insure that someone else doesn’t end up in the same situation. Since the pricing is also not disclosed anytime before the visit, I also sought to inform others of your«premium services» pricing.

Dr. Sellers at Advanced Vision Care uses the very latest equipment for diagnostics and he stays current with the latest in treatment and eye health in general. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my annual exams or issues that might come up concerning my eyes. Their glasses are the very latest styles as well. The staff is very professional and friendly and the office is always pristine. Been a patient for 18 years! High praise.
