If you ever watch Diners Drive-ins and Dives, I was actually on the episode featuring Junkyard Extreme Burgers and Brats. So finding another great hot dog place has always been difficult. This place was great! I walked in around 11:45 on a Sunday and it wasn’t very busy. I was greeted immediately by a friendly staff and given recommendations. I went with the French Onion dog which had Swiss cheese and carmalized onions topped on top. It comes with a side and I got the steak fries. Those were awesome! The dog was great and full of flavor. I’d probably would have preferred if they put some sort of sauce on top like a thousand island dressing or something, but it was still excellent! Plenty of parking out front. It’s backed in Tualatin Commons next to a few other restaurants. This is a great place to grab a bite, watch a game, and enjoy some good gourmet hot dogs!

Just ate at Franks N’ Fries and its freakin’ awesome! I got the Chicago dog and thoroughly impressed. The hospitality was great too. I was immediately greeted at the door by a super nice and very welcoming lady. I will definitely be back! Oh, and the sidewinder fries kick ass!

I’m baffled. How is this place the highest rated eatery in this area? The food was mediocre. The menu is poorly organized. The time to prep and serve was nearly 15minutes… For two hot dogs!(One plain and one Chicago) There was only one other person in the restaurant so we can’t attribute it to the crowd for being slow. We also got nachos to tide us over and the chili was probably more like a Cincinnati chili(sweet mole sauce) as opposed to a traditional chili. Not my cup of tea Slow. Mediocre taste. Poor service. The gal that was working the desk didn’t seem to have any suggestions about the food or opinion about what was good to order. She was sent out four different times to ask us specifics for our meal, which I can understand can happen once or twice but we ordered standard off the menu items. No substitutes or anything. Unprofessional. We waited 15 minutes to get our food. Spent probably 25minutes eating. The owner or the manager or who vet the cook was, Joe, spoke loudly and was cursing up a storm. He was berating the employee. It was a one way yelling match which I’m not convinced he won. He was consistently belittling her and referring to some other employee that he clearly didn’t care for. I was tempted to give her a hundred bucks and tell her to get the hell out of there as no one needs a job like this. I felt really uncomfortable and wanted to get my wife and kid out of there. If my kid were any older to understand words, I would have left earlier to «earmuffs» him from this foul atmosphere. If tonight’s experience was any indication of the future. There is no way they keep their doors open. Slow bad food with poor management is not a recipe I need to taste again. Be good with one of those things at least and you got a crack at it with me.

This place is amazing! I’ve only been here twice, but both meals were delicious! First time I had the boneless rib-eye steak sandwich which was really yummy, especially with the caramelized onions! The second time I had the BLT which was so good, I couldn’t put it down till I had finished! The side-winders fries are a great side to your sandwich. I’m working my way through the menu one item at a time and can’t wait to go back!

Not so long ago, one of my co-workers told me about this restaurant and I knew I needed to stop by. I love a great hot dog and boy did they deliver!!! Not only that but they have multiple fry choices and outstanding service.

Had a great conversation with Joe the owner and only employee at Frank’s-n-Fries. Talked about the trials and tribulations of owning your own small business, as I am in the same boat. Ordered the French onion dog and my wife got the BBQ dog with bacon. Couldn’t forget the chili cheese fries! Everything was excellent, finished my dog in the blink of an eye. I’m a sucker for caramelized onions and He hit the nail on the head. But it’s not all good news, if business doesn’t pick up this place won’t be around much longer. I implore you to go check out this awesome edition to Tualatin’s few good places to eat. Next time I’ll be getting a cheese steak sandwich, I suggest you do the same!

We went back again tonight. It was so good yet again! I had something that was like a BBQ bacon hot dog with mozz cheese on top! My husband had a 10 in half pound Pronto pup. It was wonderful too! I really enjoyed the crust on his Pronto pup. We both agreed that the next time we come we will be getting something different until we’ve tried everything off the menu!

Great little find! We had the Chicago Dog, a ½ lb pronto pup(which was a meal in itself) and chili cheese sidewinder fries. All was delicious and we’ll definitely be back. Agree with other reviews that the coating was more like a pancake than the older corndog flavor, but still great!

I found this great little place by accident. It is so worth your time, especially if you love the small mom n’ pop places. And one of the BEST things about this place is… Hand. Dipped. Corn. Dogs… ’nuff said. :-)

Really yummy. Don’t expect a regular pronto pup. It’s different but they use all beef kosher franks. Different but delicious. Coney dog… oh man so good. Love the sidewinder fries. Can’t wait to try my way thru the menu. Hope this place makes it.

Love the small shop, the service is fantastic, and damn if that bratwurst pronto pup wasn’t amazing. I have been several times and keep going. Its not very busy so be sure to visit and keep it going. The pronto pups are more pancakey than the crispy ones I remember but its very tasty. Lots of good NW meat choices make it all the better. Its a tad on the spendy side, but for a once a week or month treat, its worth it.

Fanastic. The only problem was I couldn’t try them all in one sitting. The Zenner’s Brat was glorious and my favorite but the kielbasa was great as well.

The food definitely tasted like my childhood. Which is never a bad thing. Tasty and decent size portions. Prices did not feel like my childhood however and were pretty inflated. Staff was friendly, restaurant was clean and super impressed by owner who came out of kitchen to welcome us, offer advice on menu and then returned to check on us after we had gotten our meal. Only downside here was price and length of wait. We were the only customers but waited a considerable amount of time. But like mama’s home cooked meals… some things can’t be rushed. I don’t mind being patient when I know people are working on making our order fresh and to our liking.

The Pronto Pup was not the ones I remember from yesteryear. I remember a crunchy coating kind of like a corndog. Instead, this was more like a pancake wrapped around a hotdog but the actual hotdog was really good. I would stick with a sausage dog or hot dog as they are pretty good. The skinny fries were crisp and tasty and the sodas were a good deal and came with refills. They offered Italian sodas, which sounded good, but I didn’t have one. I was given a sample of their Crater Lake Rootbeer on tap and it was outstanding. That is what I am having next time. They also offer«nachos» — chips with chili, cheese sauce and jalapenos. You can add toppings off their list for no extra charge. I didn’t care for the chili(no beans) as it was too sweet and I’m not fond of sweet chili. The service was great, most of the food is pretty good but it can be a bit spendy($ 8.50) — but not outrageous — for 6″ pronto pup, fries and drink(refillable). Worth another ½ star but Unilocal does not offer that option. Over all, try it and you’ll probably like it.

Brand new lunch spot in Tualatin. Lots of hot dog options from 6″ Nathan’s all need to Zenner’s brats also, pronto pups. Beer battered side winders or regular fries. This took over the old perfect pizza location which must not have been perfect. The dogs are good, lots of topping options and good people running the place.
