We contacted Comstock for our carpenter ant issue after our parents recommended them. After the first treatment he ants were still present but most seemed very sick and about to die. After several weeks of finding over 100+ dead ants in the kitchen each morning, we called Comstock and they came back to retreat at no additional charge. This time I pointed out our basement that was not treated the first time. The tech told me they would ‘dust’ down there. Several days after the treatment in the basement we went down there to get our mountain bikes. They were covered, along with everything else in the basement; our golf bags, kayak, skis, tuning bench, storage boxes, and every other surface were covered in a white film. With just rinsing the bikes with a high power hose the film was still visible. After two additional weeks of dead ants all over the house, finally they were gone, but we were still stuck with an unknown chemical all over our stuff. Turns out the chemical used, according to it’s MSDS is toxic to humans and pets and should be washed with soap and water when contacted. It is just a bummer that we were not warned to move our stuff and now I need to be super cautious to wash everything that is down there in a room I really don’t even want to go near. Bugs gone, but a total mess in the basement!
