Ophthalmic Consultants Of The Captial Region

I had an awful experience here. It’s been a year or so so maybe things have changed, however, I was new to the area and needed a new optometrist who would take my insurance (VSP). This was one of the places listed as in-​network by their site. After checking in I waited almost 45 minutes before being seen by anyone. I was then shuffled into the first room where I waited anther 15 min before an assistant came in and asked me a few questions. I was then sent to another waiting area where I waited another 20 min or so before the doctor saw me. I explained that I needed a new prescription for my contacts and she proceeded to treat me like I’d never worn them before (despite explaining multiple time that I’d been wearing contacts for almost ten years now). She finished the exam and told me that she would give me a pair to leave with but then I needed to come back in a week to check the fit (again despite even having had that same brand and style for years). At this point I was so frustrated, however, that I just agreed. The follow-​up visit was a bit better but still waited over 30 min. To make matters worse when I went to a new optometrist to renew my prescription this year she told me that the one I had been given here wasn’t even correct and in ten minutes or so had me seeing better than I had for the past year. So frustrating!
