How often do you get an estimate and the final bill is exactly what the estimate was? Action Jack came through. I appears that my seller’s definition of «newer» is 15 + years old(jacka$$), so I needed a new furnace for one of my rental units. I got an estimate to fix the furnace or to replace it; replacement was 3 times more than fixing, but it comes with a warranty and guaranteed to last me much longer than the fix which had no guarantees. Jack came out, crawled in my attic, gave me an estimate, and installed the dang thing 1 week later on a Saturday.(While my tenant wasn’t exactly happy about the 8:30am on a Saturday start time, I was thrilled that I didn’t have to take 3 hours off from work). They even cleaned up well enough that I didn’t have to clean up after the clean up. Also on the to-do list was fix a leaky radiator in my part of the house. They were going to do something with«wicking»(blah blah blah, I smiled and nodded because I had no idea what they were talking about and figured it was best to trust the professionals). Well, before they left from installing the new furnace, he took one more look at my radiator and said«hang on, its only leaking from this, let me tighten it… that should do the trick»…and so far it appears that it did do the trick(saving me a couple quid). Jack will be my go to guy for HVAC needs.
