Things in Troutman can go one of two ways, banjo playin’ redneck or surprisingly nice. Thankfully, at the Farmer’s Market we didn’t feel the need to paddle faster. ;) The Depot is small, home to various events throughout the year(including the Iredell County Memory Walk for Alzheimer’s) and, luckily for us, this cute little Farmer’s Market. Today the market had seven or eight vendors w/a nice variety represented. Farm 430 specializes in all organic, homemade jellies, salsas, honey, and fruit/veggie delivery service. Today I tried her peach jelly and I swear, I was gonna pull a ‘Joey’ and eat the entire jar w/a spoon. Cloves, all spice, cinnamon, peaches, ‘GOOOOD’. Pumpkin butter is coming soon!!! God bless fall. There is a vendor w/all natural, family farm raised beef and bison. They also bring in some really nice seafood. Another vendor has great produce at ridiculously low prices. Fresh breads and artisan cheeses rounded out the bunch. Certainly not a big Farmer’s Market, but it feels welcoming & quaint and the quality stands out. Unlike the local flea market(I hear the banjoes), this little roadside attraction is a gem. Be sure to check the Town of Troutman FB page for special events at the Farmer’s Market(ie: kids can meet the police & explore the police car, live music, etc.)
