My daughter is moving to Westlake, TX for her first job and while she figures out where to live I had my wife in her in a Marriott, but I don’t want them to rush and that was getting pricey so I found ValuePlace and said perfect. Booked a room, supplied my credit card, got a confirmation number. Told my wife and daughter to check out of the Marriott and got to ValuePlace. Well when they got there they had no rooms available! Not«not ready now», not at all! «Our online reservations system is not always accurate». But the good outcome is there is a Motel 6 near the speedway, basically the same price with a mini fridge and it is night by night not the weeklong contract of ValuePlace(if you stay 9 days you pay for 2 weeks at ValuePlace). So I see no reason to go there and you get housekeeping daily at the Motel 6.

«It is what it is» is a favorite expression of mine. I stumbled across this hotel while I was driving down the road to Dallas. The sign said«$ 179 a week». I was a skeptic, but came back the next day and looked it over. The Ritz it ain’t, it has no free breakfast cooked to order(the list goes on) However, if you are looking for a clean room, a cooktop and a fridge, and a firm(think european or japanese feel) then this is a good choice. Doing the math, it’s around $ 29 a night with tax. I liked it much better than Motel6 or the others, and I saved a ten spot a night. Weekly only. The TV’s are the smallest I’ve ever seen. My laptop screen is larger.
