Wasabi & Wok

I have eaten from this establishment 2 or 3 times over the last decade and have never been impressed. Unfortunately it was not my choice to order delivery from here this time.
The woman took our order in a relatively polite manner (until I decided to push it and ask for the total cost) it was all down here from there. We were quoted a time of 45 minutes (that’s fine) so I was even slightly OK with the fact that an hour had passed and nothing had arrived at our house yet. Still, wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, I waited a solid hour and 15 minutes to check the status… it was after all Thursday night and not a «busy weekend» the woman told me the driver was a «few blocks away» I inquired how she would know such a thing since prior to this I had not given her any of my info and was calling from my house phone (not the number I gave them) she bumbled some unintelligible crap and quickly hung up. After an hour and 45 minutes and no food (we live a mile from there) I decided to call and again see what was happening. This time I was told he was 5 minutes away and before I could tell them to cancel and not worry about, I was rudely hung up on.
After 2 full hours our food finally arrived ice cold. The platters where very skimpy and the amount of General Tso’s chicken in one, was EASILY dwarfed by some large chunks of uncooked peppers and onions?! There were no sauces, chopsticks, napkins or additional items provided.
OH! and the sweet and sour sauce was packed into the bag on it’s side, and was leaking all over the bottom, and the General Tso’s platter.
I will NEVER, EVER order from this sh*t hole again.
Do yourself a favor and order, somewhere, something, anywhere besides this joint.

AWFUL. Do NOT eat here under any circumstances. I feel like an idiot for not checking Unilocal before ordering, like I always do.
I just ordered food from here via delivery. True to the other reviews, they were very late. Each time I called, the guy kept saying, «the driver is 5 minutes away.» That happened twice in a row, and i was calling around 15 minutes apart. My meal was a joke. I ordered a 19-​piece sashimi platter for $ 20. Three of the pieces were just slices of avocado, three were some whitish, water-​logged fish that I’ve NEVER tasted before in all my years of sushi eating (and no, it wasn’t good), and three were tuna that was actually so chewy I couldn’t eat it. The salmon was ok. For that much money in NYC you can eat sashimi like a king.
Hoping to not get sick tonight. Kind of not feeling great already.

I had ordered from this place for three years. The ability to order online was convenient and delivery was average. However the last two times I ordered delivery took over an hour and a half to deliver. When you call they say it will be there in another 5 minutes, yet 30 minutes later nothing. I can understand ordering during a «busy» time, but no communication and no remorse when delivered. There are plenty of other places around the area. Do not order from this place.

Just ordered takeout sushi from here. Got back to the office, only to discover that the sashimi platter was rancid. I mean several days old rancid. There is no excuse for that. I’m writing this as a public service announcement. Seriously disgusting.

I started going here when they first opened up and had a few decent meals, typically for lunch. Delivery wasn’t always super quick so I decided to start picking it up for me and my coworkers. The parking lot there actually smells like foul garbage (there is a dumpster in the back of the lot that needs to be given a huge dosage of febreeze). After a couple more trips back I started feeling like the food smelled and tasted like that dumpster. Ouch.

Large menu and we tried a few different items including sashimi, and their special wasabi fusion box (bento box style). Quality of sashimi wasn’t consistent — salmon was excellent, but tuna was average, and yellow tail below average. But 4* is really for the wasabi fusion box, which included very tasty crab salad and seaweed salad. Salmon skin roll was excellent. The place is a little dumpy as well. So again if you don’t mind a whole in the wall, and have a mood for bento box style food, this is good.

I generally order delivery from Wasabi & Wok via allmenus dot com. The first couple of times I ordered, I didn’t have a problem. However, they’ve gotten very slow. It’s taken over an hour for my food to be delivered. I called and they said that it was because they were busy, but then changed it and blamed it on the online ordering system. However, when I asked them to tell me when they received my order it was clear that they had received it over an hour prior.
They did offer to give me free sushi rolls on my next order, but I’m not sure I’ll be ordering from them again.
As far as the food goes: They have decent sushi and I quite enjoy their spicy tuna rolls, but I find their typical Chinese food too salty and greasy for my liking.
My recommendation is: get take-​out (however other reviews I’ve seen don’t make it seem very appealing to actually go to the restaurant), but only Japanese food.

Awful! I would love to tell you what the food is like, but I can’t because IT NEVER ARRIVED! I ordered over 2 hours ago and they didn’t even call to tell me that they can’t deliver. When I called, I was on hold for 10 minutes and didn’t even speak to a person!
Last time I ordered, it took over 2 hours to deliver as well, but they blamed it on the weather.
Extremely disappointed and will not ever order from again.

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM HERE. We ordered food to be delivered and the FOOD NEVER CAME. We ordered the food at 845pm Saturday night and never got our order. We called five times and they did not answer the phone, nor did they contact me to tell me the food was not coming. I would put 0 stars, but Unilocal won’t let me.

not bad for a delivery place around here…
we went in for dining in. let’s just say. it was pretty crappy looking inside. you’re greeted with boxes full of menu-​spam. i didn’t mind at all, actually — finally somewhere not as pretentious as the rest of the choices around was a breath of fresh air.
The service was slow since there was a single server. Yet again, no need to expect any more. i guess the only service part I minded a bit was that my iced tea was at room temperature.
The chicken with garlic sauce was pretty decent, with a good serving of vegetables (and thank god, no onions or celery)… ask for some hot oil to add on the side.
we also ordered sesame tofu, hoping for a lightly fried tofu dish, but it turned out to be the tofu version of sesame chicken. overall, pleasant — but not perfect. came with well steamed broccoli. In addition, we ordered a special dish, east meets west — which we didn’t particularly like.
Call me prejudiced, but after going into this place, I decided it was not a smart idea to order sushi from here. We got their beef mei fun delivered once, which was a lot of noodles and a couple pieces of beef.
Dine-​in dishes were about 9 – 12 $ per item, and portions were huge.
Overall pretty normal for a local delivery place — I think we will stick to delivery…
