Honestly the workers aren’t very helpful and are rude. When you are trying to look at clothes they get in your way trying to hang up more clothes on the racks. Irritating.

A wonderful store. Very well organized and clothes displayed well! I don’t live in Cleveland but I’d definitely shop here often.

What a cool little store. My friend and I found quite a few things here. It’s well organized and clean. Great sale items that are half off are upstairs. The girls are both friendly. They accept credit cards and have fitting rooms… We were in love. We overheard another customer talk about their other location, so of course we had to hit that one too… Love at first sight.

It’s so fun here! I love that I can bring in a pile of clothes to trade for a few new-to-me pieces. I like to keep my eye out for handmade items(like the Neashsha skirts) and home décor. My only tip is to stay away from brands in here like Forever21 and Old Navy because they’re *usually* over-priced. Otherwise, many of my most-complimented pieces come from Zany’s! The girls who work here are really nice too.

Not much for men folk but a great collection of women’s clothing. Nice staff and lots of options — vintage, etc. Actually a HUGE inventory, I know because I walked all around the store looking for non-women’s clothing and probably looked like a creeper.

The charm of the other location, in an old house near Sleder’s tavern, is hard to compete with. On the other hand, this space seems a bit less packed over all. I actually like packed though since it means that there are more goodies for me to browse through. This shop has just opened in the last, oh month or so. Selection and merch are still being built up. Come consign your things. I made a lil’ money and promptly bought some earrings. I also found a cute scarf on another visit. The parking situation and landscaping are a work in progress, and there is not a half off room or upstairs yet at this location. These things will come with time, patience patience. It has a lot of potential, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be back when I am back in town!

After seven years up here, I finally discovered this treasure. Everything is of good quality and the collection is well curated. The pricing is fair and sometimes even a steal. I was pleased with the selection and eclectic offerings(without being too zany – look out, I’m punning!). Friendly staff and ample parking. Bust a move over to Zany and leave with some good finds.

Zany reminds me of the little shops off the beaten path in Austin, TX. In fact, Traverse City is reminding me more and more of ATX. The green leaves surrounding the store(the front entry is a sunroom filled with quirky items, books, and home décor) give a homey feeling to this Slabtown shop, one of my favorite TC neighborhoods. Everything is arranged creatively with pops of color throughout the store, making the shopping experience fun. The prices are a bit higher than their competition, but it shows that they only accept quality, not quantity. They took my items appropriate for the fall season– Banana Republic, Limited, and H&M. Once the items sell, expect a check(written once a month) for 40% of the selling price. Sounds like a good deal to me… especially considering I either a) let clothing gather dust in my closet or b) get lazy and drop everything off at Goodwill. I’m sure a fellow Zany girl would appreciate my pleated black skinny pants more, anyway. Alas, no thrift shop experience is complete without some actual shopping. I perused the color-coordinated sections throughout the shop, including an upstairs I did not know about! Upstairs features sale items, including $ 1 books, accessories(2 for $ 5), jeans, and miscellaneous clothes. This is a big little shop with something for any fashionable lady… Zany makes shopping fun, and there are some fabulous finds. Check it out!

I guess it makes sense that since I started my thrifting«career» in the Traverse City area that I should hit up a few gems when I’m back at the homestead. My mother and grandmother are PROS. Like, put me to shame, find the best deals around, make a 3-legged table work like a champ PROS. So, if they both love Zany, there’s a reason I need to go. And I found out… YES. It is. If you are on the circuit, lookin’ to score some cheaper duds, or need to refresh with some new accessories… I’d make a stop here. A few useful notes: *inventory rotates every 60 days, so the shelves are always fresh. *upstairs houses the«sale» racks, anywhere from 30 – 50 percent of ticket prices *this is a consignment shop, so bring in your gently-used, fashionable stuff for them to sell — you’ll get 40 percent.(my mom is a big fan, and basically just uses her consignment funds to buy new-to-her items) *They do not send checks for consignors, but it just means you get to come back! A great excuse *Easy/free parking on the street. *Located right behind Sleder’s, cute yellow house A-frame. *Open everyday, even Sundays!(limited hours on Sundays… I think 12 – 4) *They accept credit cards. *They have a fitting room! One hang-up: Pricing seems a bit scattered, perhaps because they have different people performing this task. Prices can vary quite a bit for items I thought were of similar quality/brand, and some of the cheaper brands(Target/Forever21) are a bit overpriced. However, the items I got were AWESOME and very well-priced, so do not be discouraged and keep looking! This is def not Salvation Army/Goodwill style, so do know that. You’ll still be able to score VERY nice stuff at a fraction of store prices, but you won’t leave with a bag of clothes for $ 5. It’s somewhere between dirt cheap and new. :) My scores: *A beautiful bright yellow hobo bag that looks brand new! $ 14.99. Perfect for my laptop. *hint, scour the displays up on the shelves. * Jcrew scarf, $ 7.99 pinks, reds, olives… so cute and perfect for winter to spruce things up!(also nabbed from a display!) I’ll definitely stop back in, might even be worth hauling up my duds to trade in next time I drive home!

Wow – super impressed! The last time I was in here it was when they were in the tiny store on Randolph and I liked the place even then. Now Zany occupies an entire house and they have done an absolutely wonderful job! It’s a beautiful store and everything I browsed through was of very good quality. I found an adorable pair of brown high-water pants; during check-out the saleswoman pointed out some odd scuffing near the bottom – it wasn’t bad enough where I really minded, but she immediately offered to take 50% off, leaving the grand total at $ 9 and some change! Woo hoo! The real reason I stopped in was to unload two large bags of clothes – they ended up taking everything except three things. I live out of town and they said while they no longer mail checks, they would be happy to do so in my case if I gave them a call. All in all, a really lovely and friendly experience. I would definitely recommend stopping here first if you’re looking for something specific – you might be pleasantly surprised and pay a lot less!

I love this place! Every time I’m in here it is impossible to walk out without something funky, fun and great! As the others have said… dont be turned off by the prices, these arent goodwill prices because this isnt goodwill merchandise! these are great brands and these girls are very picky about what they take, and for good reason! this is definitley a must stop!

From the west to the east, one of the best consignment boutiques I have ever been to. It is not thrift prices but great finds in the $ 30 range. Designer, vintage or just plane unique. I always walk out with a brand new outfit from head to toe. The girls that work there are always helpful, fun and have great style. A must stop if your in the area!
