My wife and I really wanted to try the Remedy, but were told that they had recently shut down. What a let down!

Go-to brunch place with the family and friends. French press coffee — so don’t expect it fast. If you are ready to hang out and have a leisurely brunch, maybe with a beer, this is your spot. I like the homey touches — homemade ketsup and jams. Food my kids will devour. I am sad they don’t stay open year round.

Came for the most Amazing brunch ever. This is my first ever review because this place was that good. First, the bacon was cooked to perfection. The biscuits and gravy was out of this world and the double fried french toast was superb. My only complaint were the eggs, but I don’t really like eggs, so my opinion on the matter doesn’t matter. I highly recommend this place if you are a hipster

If you like a dark breakfast place in a bar atmosphere then stop by. But on a beautiful summer, sunny day in July, no thanks. Food was ok. Waiter was nice — implant from Chicago where we live. Veggie succotash was not great. We only had one morning in Traverse City and wasted it on this place. It might have been worth it to wait in line and the French pastry place.

Not sure how this place could earn anything less than 5 stars! Our favorite breakfast place in town, by far. Our favorites are the chicken and waffles, spent grain biscuits and gravy, the blueberry pancakes(some of the best I’ve ever had) and the«cure-all,» a little bit of everything. I also love that you get a pint glass full of coffee — no measly mug here! I guess my one criticism would be that sometimes service is a tad slow — but this isn’t a «dine and dash» breakfast joint, you go there to take your time and enjoy your meal. Definitely check it out!

As for the food, I would have given it four stars… It was the service that completely ruined the visit. My friend and I split our entrees, eggs Benedict and fried French toast. She had coffee and I had a bloody beery. All delish. The problem was that it took an hour for the food and half that for the bill! I actually had to go up to the register to get the bill, she said she thought she had brought it over and given it to my friend… Nope. I told her we had been at the restaurant for two hours, and it was time to go. She then did graciously take the cost of the drinks off of the bill. I’ll be back when I know I have a couple hours to kill.

Stopped in for a late breakfast with three others. Great idea for a restaurant but we had so many issues that we will probably never come back here. Here we go… 1. There were 50% of the tables filled, but took us over an hour and a half to get our food. We all had the cure-all, which consists of bacon, eggs, French toast. Three of us got our meals after an hour while the last one started eating after we were all done. 2. Orders were all wrong… wrong type of eggs, wrong type of bacon. 3. Server never came to check up on us even while we waited, didn’t fill up our drinks. I understand that some of these issues were the due to the kitchen staff, but these are simple issues that could be resolved very easily!

Definitely a fan! By «fan» I mean we went twice in two days. Fiancé’ and I were in TC for the film festival all week. I was psyched to try some brunch places, but found that many restaurants only do brunch Sundays, and we had weekday mornings to fill with eating. I scoped out Unilocal for some options, and the few I found had seriously bad reviews. We’re fans of the Workshop(and beer generally), so we landed on the Remedy Thursday morning. The Remedy is hiding on the side of the Workshop building. It’s a tiny little place with small tables and the same cool vibe the Workshop has. We were starving and ordered a bunch. Highgrounds coffee, a beer screwdriver(beermosa), a bloody beery(mine, and so good). The menu items are arranged like«remedies»: Fiancé’ ordered the the Cure(a little of everything, including this deep fried brioche french toast thing), and I ordered the Rancheros, under«Bed Rest»(read: comfort food). I was all about our food. Especially the Rancheros, which I almost ordered again the second day(the waiter told me that would be crazy). Our service was pleasant, drinks were good, we had a great time. Such a great time, we came back the next morning, Friday, with our friends. Breakfast tacos: still delicious. The service can be a bit slow. But really, give it a shot. Love the menu, loved the food, love the whole thing.

Great coffee, the beignets are amazing. Service could not have been better. I had«the cure» and my wife had the sausage Benedict. Both were great twists on classic dishes. We will be making this our regular stop whenever we are in town!!!

First the positive, the water and coffee were good. Ok, we got that out of the way. We tried fried French Toast for the table. Basically bread dipped in funnel cake batter. Lead weight. Veggie succotash was beans and veggies drenched/smothered in cumin. Horrible flavor. Veggie quiche was bland. Army food is better. It is supposed to be served with salad but the waiter explained that the salad was«bad» so he didn’t want to serve it(which I did appreciate). I didn’t mention the orders were mixed up — scrambled eggs on the plate that was supposed to have poached eggs. Soft poached eggs were served bowling ball hard, etc. But overall it doesn’t matter because these were the least of this restaurant’s problems. I am out of words. What a disaster. Overall, the worst meal out of the year.

UPDATE: Okay so I gave this one last shot. A fifth time. Yes, fifth ffs. This time we got there and were told before even being seated that thry were out. of bacon. For a place that prides themselves on their bacon, I was in disbelief. The manager tried to fool me with a story about how this never happens. Sadly, this was not the first, not the second. Not even the third. This happens ALLTHETIME. They always run out of ingredients. He tried to tell me to come ba k and suggested we go to Olde Town Plaza for bacon amd breakfast instead. That was the BEST advice I’ve taken. The food there was way better. I will definitely be coming back to the remedy for more brunch suggestions! OLDERREVIEW: I gave this place a chance 4 times. It has potential, but I don’t think this place will make it without changing. Their service is EXTREMELYSLOW. They are always understaffed. They run out of their staple menu items and can not handle rushes of people. The price is okay. The food is comfort food so if you are looking for healthy items this place isn’t for you. Hope things change in the future and get some new management.

Urban décor in a great downtown TC location. My husband and I had the omelet special which was delicious. Portions are large and nicely presented. Fresh veggies and the pepper jack cheese added a little bite to the flavors. We’ll be back to try the interesting lunch menu. Waitress was outstanding both well informed on the menu and personable.

This is my new favorite place in Traverse City! My fiancé and I both ordered the«Cure-All» and it was unbelievable. This meal has everything you could ever want for breakfast, sweet, savory, crispy, cheesy, and a little spicy. The deep-fried French toast with real Michigan maple syrup was fantastic. Their super crispy hash browns and cheesy scrambled eggs, plus their homemade hot sauce and catsup, is a match made in heaven. And lastly the Sriracha bacon, need I say more? The food, plus great service, makes this a must go-to when visiting the area!

The first time I went here I tried to get food to go and they just kept telling me how nothing was really meant to be taken to go. OK. So I didn’t get anything. This time I dined in. It’s a cute atmosphere, but kind of loud due to the acoustics. The concept is good, and the menu looks good, in theory, but I would say it needs a little tweaking. The food was kind of bland and under seasoned, which I thought was weird, as it all sounded delicious. I got the veggie succotash, which looked good, but I had to salt it three times and douse it with hot sauce to make it OK. It was basically some steamed veggies with a couple poached eggs on top. It would’ve been better if they would’ve caramelized the veggies a bit and seasoned them. I told my friend it tasted«healthy.» My friend had the sausage Benedict and that was also pretty to look at, but weirdly kind of bland, too. It came with un seasoned potatoes. The sriracha bacon was good. The presentation was nice, service was only OK. We would watch a waitress come through the dining room and fill up one person’s coffee. Why not check on all the coffees? Also, our waitress never checked to see if we liked our food. We would’ve probably said«meh.» I think with time they might be able to work out some of these issues. The place was busy, but then again there’s a shortage of brunch places in TC. I just wasn’t overly impressed with my $ 19 breakfast. They’re still probably working out the kinks, so will likely try again. Pretty underwhelming $ 19 breakfast.

The atmosphere of The Remedy is great. There is a wall with praise for the restaurant, great music, and a cozy waiting area. We had some time to wait for a table, so staff came around and offered tea and coffee, so they were off to a great start. Once we had our table, the menu was easy to look through, but everything sounded great! The downside: they were out of a few of the dishes I was hoping to order. My food ended up being pretty good, but it was nothing outstanding. I had the Ranchero. I was hoping for chicken & waffles or the tacos but both were unavailable. In summary, the service was good and the atmosphere was enjoyable; however, the food wasn’t mind-blowing and they were out of my first and second choices!

We had breakfast there today… very good unique options! I had the breakfast tacos(gluten free), my husband had crispy hash brown(deep fried), bacon and eggs. Homemade orange marmalade jam that he thought was very good. Also had homemade catsup, which was excellent! Good food and service… we will go back!

Went during the soft open. I had the Chicken and Waffles. The menu is not priced very aggressively. They haven’t fine tuned it, but the owner was running around working with the wait staff. The coffee was Higher Ground in a press pot, the chicken was in bone tigh which was a bit strange. The waffles were great, but serviced with a shot glass of syrup. Overall, good for being new. I hope they expand the hours. I will be back to try other items.

This restaurant is adjacent to the Workshop Brewing Company and is run by the same folks. They offer an abundance of great breakfast /brunch options — all made fresh and from scratch. French pressed coffee, great food, and great service. Fantastic!
