The food is decent, but the restaurant is a little cramped. Our server wasn’t very observant and forgot to take my brother’s order twice. The portions were decently sized, but this wouldn’t be the first restaurant I would recommend to someone in the area.

Best Asian food in town. All the apps rock! Go with a group so you can order everything and share!

Overall decent food, rolls, drinks, and ambiance here. They put a great spin on Asian FOOD here making it high class and full of quality. It IS on the pricey side.

Great service and delicious foods. The calamari, beef ishiyaki, dragon roll, kiwi dragon roll, and sampler of chocolate desserts were equally impressive. Our server was extremely efficient, knowledgeable, and hunted down a tums for my husband. I can’t compliment them enough. Make sure you make a reservation, it will be packed.

They take reservations on open table. The whole meal was terrific except for the calamari. The Chinese spare ribs were fantastic. The sushi was excellent. The halibut kang pau was equally satisfying. We got the four chocolate based dessert samples. They were so sweet. We will come back.

Very friendly staff! My boyfriend and I were greeted with a warm smile by both hostesses and the waiters were attentive and wonderful. We got 3 sushi rolls to split and they came out incredibly fast(they were delicious). I would definitely revisit and would recommend this place to anyone.

Nice place, well thought out food and good drinks. They try to do a lot here and seem mostly successful. Had the halibut Kung pao and miso soup. Both were impressive. Service was a bit over the top.

This place was wonderful! This was some of the best sushi my wife and I ever had. We went here for our 6 year anniversary. They had a card on the table for us they was sign by the staff after the sushi they gave us a chocolate cake to share it was amazing. When come to traverse city we will always go the Red Ginger. That you guys for making our day even more special. The Weathers,

Wonderful food and service every time. Great waitstaff. Great manager, Ernest. Amazing food! Had the Thai chicken curry. So good! Also shared the spare ribs app(complete with lemon wedge and finger towels), and a sushi roll — shrimp, asparagus and toasted almond. :). Great beer selection, and the wine is served in wine-lovers’ wine glasses. Love to go back each time.

Had a business outing in T.C. MI last night. Our client suggested Red Ginger. We reserved the small room upstairs. The drinks were great, food was spectacular. Our server Liz was fantastic. Highly recommend Red Ginger.

We must have caught them on a bad night. The sushi and meals were fine. I felt that many of the staff were not trained in fine dining service. I was surprised to see the wine list had slipped, the wait staff are not very conscientious of the guests. The entire evening felt rushed. The highlight was seeing Ernesto formerly of Stella. Of the options in town, leave this one to the tourists and seek out some of the other options for a fine meal.

Excellent find in Traverse City. Suberb service! Wonderful happy hour. The rioja was on the happy hour menu was perfect as were the California rolls, lettuce wraps and edamame. Super warm friendy atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.

10⁄10 Up north for the weekend, we came to red ginger to celebrate a special occasion, lucky enough it was restaurant week. 3 courses $ 25 and some of the best food I’ve had north of Saginaw. From the waitstaff, to the food to the drinks 5 stars 10⁄10 rating. Outstanding I will be back next time I’m up.

I have been here many times over the years and have tasted almost the entire menu. The dinner menu is excellent, the quality and execution of the dishes are top notch a little on the pricey side but not outrageous. That being said there are other high end restaurants in town that have excellent food and are a better value. As for the sushi and bar area I would not recommend this place. The happy hour is nearly the same price as regular about 20% less from 3−6pm and the selection is not great. The sushi is decent quality ingredients but uninspired, for example the shrimp tempura roll is just shrimp with rice around it and it is tiny for being $ 8, a spicy tuna roll is $ 10. Rolls that can be had at any sushi place are $ 10 – 16 when they should be $ 6 – 12. Not many options in town for sushi so they can get away with it.

Great service, got in without a reservation on New Years Eve! The sangria was delightful, chef special roll w/bacon aioli sauce & garlic chips was supper yummy, & the hamachi was perfection.

This is seriously the ONLY legitimate place to score sushi in the Grand Traverse area! The rolls are fresh, inventive and authentic!(Sushi rice on point!) My friend Sara and I shared the Sushi Trio– which includes 3 of their most popular rolls: Red Dragon, Cali and Spicy Tuna. Everything was SOOOO good(and a perfect amount for 2, when paired with an exciting appetizer or two!) For those who hate raw fish, Chef Dan’s Signature Roll is a pretty incredible, decadent treat. It has butter poached shrimp, asparagus, truffled bacon sauce with crunchy garlic! Freaking amazing! I can’t wait to try their Green Thai Curry next time. While it pains me to spend $ 24 on a curry dish, based on the quality of their fish and elegant service, I believe it’ll be well executed! Service was stellar! If you can get there for Happy Hour at the bar, it’s a fantastic deal for small plates & drinks! Though space is very limited and it’s only 3−5pm.

Very enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive. The spring rolls were ok but the ribs were delectable! Stick with the ribs for sure. The tuna nigiri was done properly and tasty. The ginger and wasabi were hotter/tastier than many places. We liked that. We liked the Vietnamese shaking beef. The ribs were the stand-out though.

The food was good but not fabulous. Considering that the meals were expensive, I expected fabulous. We ordered the crab rangoons for appetizer. They were very good but we only got 4 for $ 15. My husband ordered shrimp Thai curry. It was good but it was $ 27. I ordered daily special, grilled halibut with crab risotto. It was $ 38. It was not very flavorful. It needed more seasoning. Warning, do go without a reservation of you’ll end up on an uncomfortable bar seat. Probably won’t go back.

Made reservations on the suggestion from a friend for my 40th Birthday. After a day of wine tours, we were looking forward to a great meal. We found it. We were taken to our table there was a personalized card for me signed by the staff, a nice gesture. Our waitresses, Carrie & Terri were excellent and attentive throughout our whole meal. We loved the atmosphere and the dishes. We didn’t have sushi, but what I saw looked fantastic. I had The Vietnamese Sizzling Beef(something) which was awesome! The tenderloin was moist and tender. My husband had a shrimp dish(on small plate menu) that he loved. Since it was my birthday, I received a free dessert which was also excellent. Great service, atmosphere and excellent food. Best to make reservations; especially during the tourists season.
