I really like this place. It’s a very authentic, unassuming TVC bar, restaurant. What you see, is what you get. Service is fast & the perch dinner was fab. They have Pilsner urquell on draft which is MAJORBONUS since it’s my FAV Pilsner! YUMMO! It’s also quite clean & spacious. There’s plenty of seating, both at the bar & table. It’s not fancy but it offers a nice selection of good solid food. Would recommend this place anyone! And I will be frequenting it when in TVC! :)

Good drinks and good food! I got the chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. We came in with a large group and they took care of us quickly and checked back! Even got to tack a buck to the ceiling!

This is definitely a place the locals go to. The servers knew many of the patrons and even what they were going to order! It’s a cute little place, with wooden church pews(I think) as booths, and little lamps on all the tables. When I was there, a band was playing, and people were dancing. It seemed like a fun place, although, after a long day of driving, it was a bit too noisy for me. It was a bit more expensive than I’d anticipated; while the burgers were fairly reasonably priced, the entrees were more expensive. I didn’t really feel like having a burger, and none of the appetizers really appealed to me, so I got the salmon dinner. It was served with capers on top(a nice touch, although I’m not a fan), cut asparagus and homemade garlic mashed potatoes and grilled foccacia. It would’ve been nice if a salad came with it, though. But, if you’re in the mood for a kind of rustic neighborhood atmosphere with good food, this is a good bet.

Good burgers and sandwiches. My mom and I stopped in here on a rainy, cold August day for a late lunch. The place was empty. Had a large bar area with some tables and chairs then a back area just for dining. We ordered coffee, burger and fries, and a Traverse City turkey sandwich on grilled rye. Our waitress told us she invented the sandwich and the mayo(cherry mayo). It was pretty damn good. My burger was juicy and cooked just right. The fries were crispy but still soft inside. Split a huge piece of carrot cake($ 8.95!) but wasn’t that impressed. The cream cheese frosting was tasty but the cake part was a little dry and bland. No nuts or raisins in it either. For $ 9 we expected a little more. Overall, the food is very good and fresh and there are many choices besides just sandwiches and burgers. I would pass on the dessert next time but there were many choices so it may have just been the carrot cake that wasn’t that great. Little Bo’ has been open since the 1930s and you can tell there is charm here. I can see why this is a popular place for locals and tourists alike.

It’s a small little restaurant but cozy. On this particular night they had live music which added to the atmosphere. I’m not sure how often they do this. I really wanted to try the perch and went with their lake perch. It was good but as others have commented, not a big portion. Six small pieces for $ 16 and some coleslaw and sweet potatoe fries. It was cooked pretty good but I had preferred to not have it deep fried quite as much. The service was decent but we had to ask about a kids menu at which time the server pointed out that it’s in a small section in the menu. At times it took a while to get the server to come by and check on us even though they weren’t very busy on this night.

My husband and I are in Traverse City for the Cherry Festival. Our B&B hosts recommended Little Bo as a possible dinner option for us on our first night in town. How happy we were with his suggestion. We sat out on the patio(the weather was perfect). There was live jazz music in the bar which added to the positive feeling at the restaurant. Dinner was great! My husband optied to get the gnocchi appetizer as his dinner selection… which was fabulous! I ordered the ½ order of the perch. I thought it was great too. Yes, it is a smaller size portion, but that’s what I wanted, because we really wanted to try the cherry bread pudding. So glad we saved room for dessert… was AMAZING! Service was terrific! Everyone we dealt with at Little Bo’s were so friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back again if it was a little closer, but it’s not really driving distance from Austin!

Friendly staff & fast service. Comfort food — pork, sauerkraut & dumplings. The cherry bread pudding was the best part of the meal.

Pros: Staff was friendly, established in 1932 or so the sign says– nice to see patronize a restaurant that’s been around for a long time, ambience was neat. Cons: Can I say… Small portions all the way around… We got the perch dinners. 3 small pieces for the half order and 6 small pieces for the full. At least, they could have beefed the dish up with fries but that portion was small too. Came with a very small cup of cole slaw to go with. Up charge of $ 4 for sweet potato fries(again small portion). $ 7 for bowl of broccoli soup! Butter noodles for the kiddo was small too. I really wanted to like this place but I spent $ 50 and got go get more food to fill up.

Had wonderful perch dinners tonight at Little Bohemia. It’s a beautiful room, with old, original woodwork and neat murals. Service was great: prompt and caring. I think some Unilocalers maybe don’t realize that perch are actually small fish, and the filets cut from them are necessarily even smaller. Other inaccuracies on this site include Unilocalers claiming you have to pay before you get your food(why do you think that might have happened?), that the wine is overpriced(where can you get an 8 oz glass of local wine for less than $ 6.50?), or that the service is slow or pushy. Some comments are just plain off-topic, rude to the owner or other patrons. Personally, I don’t think it pays to be high-maintenance or uppity in sole proprietorships the way you can in corporate-run restaurants. And the owners hairstyle? Well it’s NOYB. You’re not the NY Times food writer, you know! And this ain’t the Four Seasons! What it is, is a long-established local tavern serving traditional and well-prepared meals, sandwiches, pastas, appetizers and desserts alongside local music for well under $ 15 a plate. It isn’t hip or contrived. If Mario Battali thinks the place rocks… well, chances are he knows a little something about food. Traverse City has a rich dining scene, heavy on the nouveau side. It would be a poorer place without Lil Boho.

I cannot express how rude the wait staff was. Every female customer waited for an extended period of time to order their drinks and their male counterparts could walk up and get service in a matter of a few minutes. I waited 25 mins. Standing at the bar next to a girl who had been there 5 minutes before me. The place was busy as a local music artist was playing. The crowd and patrons were great… the staff. not so much. When the crowd died down, three waitresses and a hostess were behind the bar standing and talking, two made eye contact and smiled at me and one asked what I wanted and I asked to order a drink. she held her finger up to me and raised her eyebrows…“One Minute”. The regular sitting at the bar who saw this apologized because he felt bad. Unfortunately, this place will never receive my business again.

I wrote a poor review for this place in July. This morning, I received a nasty private message from the person that runs their Unilocal account. I tried to post a screenshot of the message but the site is not allowing me to do so. Here is the message: Well, you can do or say whatever you want JENNIFER P, but we know that you are a liar! No one said or did any of the things that you claim. An we get nothing but compliments on our LAKEMIPERCHDINNER everyday! The full meal is 6 pieces, the half is 3, so you OBVIOUSLY ordered the half meal and the portion of the salad is much more than you claim as well. We highly recommend that you stick to the chain restaurants or perhaps the ALLYOUCANEAT places, as you have no taste for REALFOOD! I never referenced their perch dinner in my origianl review so, clearly, this is directed at someone else. Seems like it is a response to Noelle V.‘s review on 11/10/2014. If you are going to be a psycho and start private messaging people that leave reviews, at least message the correct person!!! And FYI, I WOULDRATHERGOTO A CHAINRESTAURANTTHANLITTLEBOHEMIA!

I heard awesome things about this restaurant for quite some time and was very excited to try it out. I was thoroughly disappointed. The server was very«pushy», kept asking my table if the service was«quick» enough for us… every time she came to the table, pretty much interrupting our conversation. Turns out our server was the manager of the restaurant, I at first thought she was the owner because of the way she was conducting herself towards other servers. My husband was absolutely appalled with the service and the amount of food we received, so he ended up getting up and leaving the table before I was even finished because he didn’t want to start a fight with out server inside the restaurant with other diners. She did question me on why my husband had left, then asked or stated something to the effect of posting our experience online for a review. She did tell me she was getting a lot of «bad reviews». Now the food, what food, there was hardly any food on our plates. My husband and I both had the fish dinner which consisted of 3 tiny pieces that were comparable to the size of a saltine cracker. His salad was on the same plate, about the same of one piece of Fish. Barely any french fries were included. We both eat a lot, made sure we asked for the full special because we were made aware there was a half order. My husband and I never order a small or «half» portions anywhere we go, we like to eat a lot! We paid well over $ 10 each for our meal, and we had to stop at McDonald’s on the way home in order to get filled up. It was horrible. Do NOT recommend. Did have someone affiliated with Little Bohemia leave me not 1, but 3 messages accusing me of lying. So, I did update my review, I have a great feeling the person who messaged me was our server, whom I believe actually manages the place. I wanted to be sure to have everything as accurate as possible for the«lies» I had initially posted before. We were also told that we «OBVIOUSLY» ordered the half order. Well, I know for a fact that I have never ordered anything half size or small size in my life, and my husband is a big guy who would not, so our order possibly could have been messed up since the full order is 6 pieces of saltine-size fish fillets.

No stars! I used to visit this place years ago when it was Lil’Bo’s every Monday night and had Jazz Night… so many great memories! I have not been back since though. Well my dad was visiting from St. Louis, Missouri and we wanted to show him one of our friends and favorite bands Billy Strings and Don Julin. We were excited! We arrived to a packed bar which did not surprise us because of the music… we found seats at the bar. Great! It took a little while to get service but they were busy and we gave them the benefit of the doubt… We had Nancy the owner serving us. Finally got our drinks nothing fancy a couple beers and a glass of wine and some fries. We settled into our night. Then the trouble began … a couple of women sat down beside my dad and we started talking. After a while no one had come to serve them so my dad was being nice and tried to get Nancy’s attention and help out a bit, when Nancy bit back well we are a little busy here … my dad did respond with you have got to be sh*tting me… which whatever it was a bit snarky but no big deal… Nancy then took a plastic jar that had a sign taped on it that said no swearing and threw it in front of my dad and told him to put money it… we all laughed and brushed it off… we just continued throughout our night with my sister put in charge of ordering the drinks from then on… at one point my sister did hear Nancy call my dad a dick … well we ignored it we wanted to listen to the music… we had a great time and the music was wonderful! if you get a chance to see Billy and Don anywhere else go ahead. Also while sitting at the bar I witnessed at least 5 people come in and try to get a drink at the bar and leave. I worked at a restaurant and a bar so don’t get me wrong I get it, it is tough when you are busy. But you never want people to leave. We were getting our bill. We knew we did not want to tip her, which was tough because we are family of hospitality people and we know you work for tips but you don’t call a customer a dick and you don’t throw a swear jar at a customer and you don’t ignore customers. We paid our bill and were heading out the door when Nancy greeted my dad and my sister at the door and said thanks for the tip and then proceeded to flip of my dad… she then very much deserved the no tip we gave her. We won’t be back and we will be telling everyone we know to not visit too.

Had the gnocchi with garlic cream sauce and carmelized onions HMmmm! I briefly thought about ordering another plate as it’s an app but I have to go back to work. Delicious! Oh and I think Unilocalers who include hairstyle critiques as part of their«review» should be on a different website. Douchebag Reviews, perhaps?

Nancy Not sure what you’re referencing, I was in with a party of two. There was no split. I’m sure you have me confused with another previous patron. But is this an example of your ownership professionalism?

It’s like 1988. The hair, the food, the waitstaff. This is the first time since McDonald’s I have had to pay for the food when ordering. The waitstaff did not want to be there. If you’re looking for an all white dinner, look no further. Be sure to bring your hairspray. Decent craft beer line up.

I been to this restaurant a number of times and I have never been disappointed. The menu is diverse, the food is great almost like home cooking. Whether you’re having a burger, fish fry or the popular Bohemian dinner, the food will not disappoint. They also have a fantastic bar and typically have great music one or two nights a week.
