I LOVE going here. This was my go-to nail salon while I lived in TC and I love it. Austin always did my nails and he did a wonderful job on my toes and nails always. When I would call to make an appointment with him I would just say hello and he knew it was me right away. I really miss this place. Austin(the manager, or owner, not sure which) is the BEST. He and his family are so nice Really, really, miss going here.

Awful. I only went her because a friend recommended them. When I went in someone greeted me I asked if I could make an appointment. She shook her head and said«no.» Um ok. A man instantly got up and said yes, he could see me at 6. It was 11am then so I declined and left. I have gels and they were really grown out and my usual place is 300 miles south so I tried again the next day. I called and made an appointment. When I went in this time they asked if I’d please wait, It’d be 15 minutes. I waited. and waited. and waited. It took them an hour after my appointment to even get me into the chair. Then 10 minutes after that for a man to start working on my nails. It was only 30 minutes for me to get in and out after that. The guy used acrylic to fill my gels and didn’t even do a good job. They were bubbly with stuff under the clear and were really bumpy. He did awful. I did not want acrylic because I heard they were bad for your nails and he used it anyways so I was pretty upset but didn’t know until it was too late. BIGWASTEOFMONEY!

Protip: free wifi. A nice surprise, perhaps it’ll come in handy for someone… On to the pedicure. In my pre-return-to-the-expensive-UK beauty mission, LA Nails was on my list before departing TC. Needed a pedicure, badly. LA Nails fit the bill, here we go… No wait, good scrubdown, decent massage chair. Decent polish selection. Overall this place isn’t exactly posh(obviously) but it gets the job done. Basically all of the TC cheapie nail places are exactly the same so I am not sure I can recommend any over the other, which keeps everyone on a pretty level playing field. So I left LA Nails $ 23 + tip lighter, and with pretty lavendar purple toes! 3 stars for that alone. 35 minutes, in and out. Good drying station. *They do take cards, but no personal checks. There are signs saying this. Apparently people still try to write them up here, but it won’t work at LA Nails, you’ve been warned.

Okay I have to write an update and give a downgrade — my nails chipped like, the second day, and my nails have been really brittle ever since I went here. I realize that has some to do with lack of biotin, but they also filed my nails in a weird way. Think I’ll find somewhere else…

Nothing fancy, but hey… you can’t go wrong with a pedicure in a massage chair! The staff was very friendly and the salon was quiet. The atmosphere was familiar and comfortable… like going to your bff’s house to get a mani pedi. Will def be back.

This nail salon is the Worst in Traverse City! I spent 80.00 with my step daughter getting a 2 pedicures and a manicure ! The girl that did my pedicure was busy talking on her phone the whole time did not put lotion on my feet! Terrible! Never will I go there again ! The guy that gave my s daughter her manicure smeared her polish! worst ever pedicure!!! Never will they get my money !
