Bay Meadows Family Golf Course

Awesome place if you want to take a beginner and/​or child to golf!
Great staff, course is short but has a challenge to it and they are SUPER FRIENDLY to kids/​beginners!
They offer a Junior rate and it also has some pretty scenic holes.

Green course par 3 was great for the kids. Took our time and they had a blast! The owner was super friendly and accommodating to our group. When we arrived he was very enthusiastic about the kids getting out to play and learn golf. He came out to the first tee box and took the group picture. He said please come inside after the round and he would have something special for everyone. When we did he had smoothies for each one of the kids. And printed up a laminated copy of the picture with the date for each one of the families in the group. That was a super nice touch. he explained that he had just taken over in the last year and was making lots of changes to the course. He really believes in teaching the game and bringing more people into it. It was clear. Based on that we told him we would absolutely be back. It is it turns out two days later we did come back to play the larger course.

Great value for family golf while on vacation. We played 9 on the Blue course and were delighted by the hospitality and condition of this course. About 10 minutes outside Traverse and easy drive on Google Maps.

Mr Husby has outdone himself for this season with better course conditions and a state of the art indoor and outdoor practice facility, he will be giving the big boys a run for their money this season. Still a family friendly facility too that the whole hose can enjoy.

Great for taking lessons and the short game practice area is perfect for working on your game. Jeff Dean is a great instructor who uses video to break down your swing. If you’re in need of lessons then Jeff is the man for you. Their prices are the best around.

I am not a golfer.
At all. Frankly, I don’t like playing sports I am not naturally good at it, and golf falls squarely into that category. No amount of hustle, determination, blood, sweat or tears can make one a «good» golfer. Hell, they wouldn’t even make me a «less than stellar» golfer!
Regardless, I had a BLAST at Bay Meadows. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, I was in the company of great girls, I got to drive a golf cart… the day was just lovely.
Bay Meadows is great for beginners (9 holes, all par 3). There’s a driving range and a «learning center.» (Guess I should’ve taken a few thousand trips over there prior to my debut). Nice clubouse, beautiful course that winds and flows… out in the country but relatively close to town.
$ 21.50 for one game with cart. They don’t serve booze, so I cannot award a 5^th star. A beverage cart was absolutely necessary for this endeavor and I do believe a few cocktails and I could’ve rivaled a Tiger Woods swing… no really!
Ok, no not really… but you can bring your own. I’ll know for next time :)
Def a great stop if you’re vacationing in the area and want to play a quick round. I’m sure I left about 57 golf balls out there, so help yourself…
