Wins: Cool Log Cabin Lodge feel Family owned Suite was quiet and curtains were extra awesome at blocking out light. Failures: 1. Checking in was not friendly. Only one man at the desk and not even a smile. He just told us how much we owed for a 2 night stay, charged my card on the spot and then gave us the keys. If you think that’s bad, keep reading to find out what happened at check-out. 2. Jacuzzi tub in the Valley View Suite was right in the middle of the room next to the bed and bathroom door; I guess that is why they call it a «two room suite?» 3. Décor needs a huge update. We are not in the 90s anymore folks. Stay at the Best Western not two driveways down for a much better experience! Our friends got the suite over there and wow– talk about a 5 star room! 4. Torrential downpour happened on morning of check-out and the drainage was HORRIBLE! I had to literally walk barefoot because the river flowing down the hill to our door was covering my feet. 5. Check-out was the WORST experience I have EVER encountered! Sunday morning checkout and still raining cats and dogs, we drove to the front office steps only to read a note on the office door, «Desk Clerk Will Be Back in 10 Minutes.» We waited in the car for 10 minutes with no show from anyone so I called the number for the hotel and was directed to a different number where I could leave a message. After letting them know I would leave the keys on the steps I proceeded to rant to the guests waiting to check in. I hope the people checking in were rethinking their stay because any hotel that leaves their front desk unmanned won’t be around much longer! Seriously not even a phone call to explain and apologize after the fact? WOW!
