Been here a few times now & love it, not sure about all the mixed reviews though, this place is definitely under new management now, because the food consistently tastes great to me and I had no problem with this place being super clean every time I came in! Everyone was also welcoming when I entered. I’d say one of the best pizza places in Torrance, they have unique menu items and variety. Save yourself the trip to any other Pizza Chain in South Bay. Anyways some of the things I’ve tried: Margherita Pizza(5 stars)= I can’t tell you how much I love pizza and crave it on a weekly bases, if daily. Anyways this pizza is flavorful, thin & really hits the spot! Fettucini Fredo(5 stars)= Most alfredo sauces are super heavy & just sauce. I liked this pasta alot because it had olives in it and other flavors that didn’t make it super heavy! Made some of my own pizza’s too, bbq chicken, regular cheese once, they’ve been good every time. The sauce is just amazing. They also have sandwiches, calzones, so many other pasta’s, wings, desserts too!!! I love that they have a bunch of stuff for whatever mood you’re in. I’ll definitely be back to try more :)

I’m proud to say that I’ve grown to tell so many of my friends and family about this place. The atmosphere when you come in is very decent and college friendly. The music is good and the wall art is very memorable. Last time I wrote that the Philly cheesesteak was absolutely delicious! Now I’ll just give my two cents on the pizza slices. The pizza slices are fresh and hot so don’t dive right in! They are very large and are worth the cost. Admittedly, they are pretty greasy so make sure to have napkins by your side and maybe on your lap if you’re wearing something nice. I took my friend here this past semester and he loved it. We got a slice each and he instantly became hooked. He ended up ordering another slice and now comes here frequently. Keep up the great cooking!

Found this spot while driving with my bro… they have good pizza! Good and friendly service, and nice ambience for a hole-in-the-wall Pizzeria. Try them… you won’t be disappointed!

LOVE this place! Been looking ALL over, for a place where I can get a chicken cutlet sub! Checked a bunch of places but no one had them until I found this spot. I called first, to make sure they had it on the menu. What they usually make is a chicken parmesan sub. So, I just had them make it with provolone, mayo onions, lettuce, and no sauce. It was AWESOME! And the chicken they used tasted fresh and delicious! Real chicken– no chicken patties. I also had one cheese slice while I waited for my sammich! MMMMMmmmmmmmmMMM! Actually, the pizza slice was not bad. I’ve had much better, but I still liked it. Reminded me of pizza I had in Boston in my college days. I noticed some people complaining about the pizza being greasy. Perhaps they’ve changed the way they prepare it? I dunno. But mine wasn’t and I liked it and I’d have it again. I’m just glad it’s not RIGHT around the corner from me. otherwise, I’d be over there much more often than I should. Friendly service too! Nice guy working the counter!

I have been here several times over the last few months and my family and I really like it. The local ‘establishment’ has been using lower quality ingredients in their food, shrinking portions, and raising prices, so I have been on the prowl for a new place. This looks like it might be the replacement! Most recently I ordered a pie and calzone. I am not a fan of the fried calzone but the were kind enough to bake in upon request. When the pizza came out, the crust was a little burnt. They asked me several times if it was alright, as if they wanted me to have them remake it. I said if ya want to do something for me, that’s cool, but don’t worry about it. Ok, they gave me some free bread knots. While I was waiting, I just happened to mention that it was my birthday because my wife asked me what I wanted for dinner. I just replied, lets do pizza, make it easy. SO, as I’m getting ready to walk out, they gave me a slice of cheesecake as a surprise. So, when I read that the customer service sucks here, I LAUGH! Or, at least acknowledge that they have improved substantially. The owner confided in me a few upcoming trails for pizza and dishes that sound really good. He realizes that there is always room for improvement. Yes, bet your sweet ass, I will be back.

My friend and I went there on a $ 20-for-$ 4 coupon. The table was wobbly, you order at a counter and they bring the food on cheap paper plates(for this you maybe – we never received a receipt – pay an 18% gratuity???), menu chalkboard was handwritten and hard to read, spaghetti & meatballs was a misnomer – the dish contained ONEMEATBALL cut in half to look like two – pasta and sauce were mixed together like leftovers, pizza was mediocre and the crust was too thick, food was bland, would never go there again with or without a coupon.

Went on a Monday night, the place was pretty much empty… got a half margherita pizza and half pepperoni pizza. It was kinda neat being about to watch them prep the pizza just behind the counter, everything was cooked to order. The pizza was thin and delicious(I do love thin pizzas!). We also got a tiramisu and fettuccine alfredo. The fettuccine alfredo was nice and creamy, but lacking in flavor. We dosed it with parmesan cheese to add some salt and cheesy-flavor, and it worked. If they had doused it with some fresh parmesan themselves, it would of been near-perfect. The tiramisu comes in a little 3oz-size container, and was surprisingly delicious(if they had given me a giant plate full, I would of devoured it all). Overall, I was quite pleased. I will definitely be back for their margherita pizza(I’m not a fan of pepperoni, and it the pepperoni gave my bf the burps), and their tiramisu. yum!

Superb philly cheesesteak… superb but everything else(and I am talking mainly about the pasta dishes but also pizza) is just ok. Prices are eh. Service is also inconsistent depending on the day. Overall a place to try if you are near El Co.

–_______________– I ordered the pepperoni pizza, along with the baked pasta. It was horrible… The food was greasy. Especially the pizza. And the he pasta had a sour smell to it. I eat New York style pizza a few times a year when I visit family in NY and must I say, this did not taste anything like it. It was terrible, I mean had it been less greasy and some sort of quality to the cheese. Maybe the pizza would not have been so bad… But, let me tell you, the pizza was so thin and greasy that the grease started to seep through to the pizza(so, yes it was just that soggy). I guess the one positive thing I can say is that the staff’s were nice. However, for the amount that I paid for pizza and an order of baked pasta($ 25) I would not be eating here again. It’s not worth the money in my opinion.

Tried this new pizza place out the other day and was surprised at how good it is! I guess they changed management so the reviews in the beginning don’t really go with it now. FOOD Had the pesto tomato and ham and cheese pizza slice and both were delicious! The ingredients on the pizza tasted fresh and quality is a big deal for me. Their slices are pretty big so two was more than enough for me. And they have pretty good deals on them, which is always nice(= They told me a lot of people like the deep fried calzones so I had to try it. Yes, you heard me right, I said DEEPFRIED! If you love going to the LA/OC fair and eating the delicious fried food there, you definitely need to get the calzones from here. I posted a pic. It was huge! Mmmmm, thinking of the food here is making my mouth water =P Oh and I had to try the Tiramisu. It’s the perfect size so you don’t feel too guilty, and it was actually really good. I didn’t expect it from a pizza restaurant, but if you like Tiramisu you should try it. SERVICE The place was clean and the service was great! I saw how they were with other customers too and you can tell they really care. They also have good music playing and nice TV’s so I’m sure it’s a great hang out spot.

Now I’ve got two pizza options to choose from when hunger hits while I’m at school. This place is located right across the street from El Camino college. I like that they’ve got so much to offer and their stuff seems authentic. The guy that helped me out was welcoming and helpful. Theyve got a deal going on for $ 3.99, and it includes two pizzas and a small drink. You can’t go wrong with that! The pizza itself is good, the typical New York thing; big slices, thin crust, but the dough is soft which I liked. This place is definitely going down on my list of pizza spots.

Believe the menu when it says these 18 inch pizzas feed 3 to 4 people each. The plate-sized slices are more than enough to satisfy even hearty appetites. There were five of us(two adults and three kids) and we plowed through two pizzas and still went home with enough left-over ‘za for another meal. The wings still need some work. The sauce was tasty but the insides were a bit under-done. Next time i order them I will ask for them to be well done. The flavors of the teas from the tea machine were a bit off but the soda fountain was on point. Enjoyed the vibe — the bright red wall and original art are dope! — it made me feel like this was my neighborhood pizza joint.

I LOVE pizza, so when I was happy to see upon visiting family near ElCo yesterday that The Oven was up and running. I stopped in there with my good ol’ mother to pick up a big pie and was pretty disappointed. First off, we got a half-ass greeting from a guy sitting behind the register who said«menus are on the counter» and not much else. Next, she went to use the women’s restroom and emerged a few seconds later with the quote«that was the most disgusting women’s restroom I’ve ever seen, I was scared to touch anything.» Really guys? That bad at 11 am on a weekday, with NO customers in the place, or did you just not clean up from last night at all? The pizza was decent, the the rest of the experience was far below par.

I noticed this place had just opened and decided to give it a try. Their menu was had a lot of options – they have pizza, subs/sandwiches/salads, calzones. What stood out to me was their fried calzone. Fried calzone? I’ve never heard of it before. And thats exactly what I had! But of course I had to balance it out with a salad. The pepperoni calzone was freshly made and came out in about 10 mins. Super YUMMY! it wasnt as heavy as I thought it could be. It seemed like it was lightly fried and then baked. The dough was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The salad wasn’t your regular iceberg salad either. They didn’t skimp out on the cheap leafy greens like most places. They give you the gourmet greens! I do recommend this place to my friends and family and will definitely come back!

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience at The Oven. We both ordered the 3.99 deal for two slices and a soda. One of my slices was accidentally put in the oven upside down, so instead of making me take it, they gave me a brand new slice before even handing me the«ruined» slice. The pizza was really juicy and the cheese was delicious. It’s a small place with a lot of charm and the staff was extremely accommodating.

I’ve been driving pass this place every day since it opened and today I finally decided to drop in. Place definitely sticks out because of the bold colors and signage outside. Walked in and the music was bumpin’…loud! I was really diggin’ the playlist but I did think the volume was a bit much for 3:30pm…the guy did turn it down a notch. I was really feelin’ the vibe of this little pizza parlor… red walls with interestingly fun art and décor, chalk board menu, and a few tables inside and outside. I can definitely picture El Camino students hanging out in this place. I decided on the cheese pizza special…2NY cheese slices and a small drink for $ 3.99. That’s a pretty sweet deal, they know their audience. Took about 5 minutes to heat up my pie slices in the oven. Big slices, plenty of cheese, and good flavor. Staff was friendly, helpful, and quick. One of the guys putting up some wall art noticed ice wasn’t coming out in my cup and he directed a staff member to get some ice bags quickly. He was apologetic but I thought it was cool he even noticed… multitasking skills always a plus in any industry ;) I see myself placing many orders for delivery in the future. They are a fairly new business and probably still working out the details but so far I’m a fan. Can’t wait to taste the Mott street and margherita pizza :)

First off, I just wanted to say that I never write reviews mainly cus I’m lazy, and second, the places I visit usually already have great ones. What can I add? But maybe this will make me start doing it more often. As for The Oven though, I figured people got to know about this spot! Its just too good and its kinda sad that no one has written about them yet. Im assuming the earlier reviews are before they made the changes, after all, this place is relatively new. I was across the street at El Camino College interviewing students and noticed this place driving in, they had these new signs welcoming the students, got hungry and craving pizza so screw it, lets gamble on this spot. I find out they just recently brought in a chef from NY that has switched this place a compete 180, so if the other reviews are holding you back, come try it yourself! Seriously! I had a slice of the Mott Street Pizza, which had ricotta chesse, basil, fresh slices of tomato on it was was so fresh! probably the freshest I have tasted in a long time, especially here in LA. You can get whole or by the slice, just like in NY. The other ones looked good too. They said the menu is brand new and saw the wings, I always like to judge places that claim they have good wings since chicken is my kryptonite, but believe me, I ordered the Hot Honey wings and they were DELISH! They had a nice amount of kick and the honey surprisingly wasnt overbearing. To top it off, they served them with homemade blue cheese sauce. Now if your like me, Im not a big fan of blue cheese, but this was legit. It’s always cool to find a new spot and be shocked as hell, ya know? Next time I’m in the area, I’ll definitely stop by and work my way through their menu. Prices were great, the flavor was even better. I dont know what they were serving before, probably deserving of that one star. But this place is pretty good.

Wow… where to even begin for this review. After Hanks’s Pizza closed down here after being in business for more then 20 years, I was surprised to see another pizza place open up here. I decided to check it out seeing that there was signs posted around the mall plaza showing a large 3 topping pizza for only $ 5. After driving up to the location, the first thing I noticed upon walking in was that the open sign was not lit and both TV’s were turned off. It almost looked like the restaurant was still closed. I could see that this was a family run business which I love, but I found it odd that not one of the 4 employee’s that saw me come in offered me any type of greeting. My wife and I decided to try out the pizza special to judge them on their sauce. The key to any great Italian restaurant is based on the sauce and if that works most everything should be good. When the pizza came out, the first thing I noticed was how the crust looked evenly pressed and having no peaks or valleys to it. It tasted it was frozen and was then just thawed and baked. I found the sauce to be flavorless and tasting like it had come straight from a generic can of tomato sauce from the store. The toppings were a fair amount, but the cheese was only lightly applied. This pizza was so bad, it would make a pie from Little Ceaser’s or Chuck E Cheese seem like gourmet! The restaurant offers other items like sandwiches and pasta for sale, but I dunno if I would return for a 2nd visit to try them out.
