I have been going to Alex for several years and she is simply the best hair stylist I have ever had. I had an outdated haircut for many years because all the previous stylists told me my head was too big too go with a shorter haircut. Haha. When I went to Alex I told her that and she laughed. She immediately knew what to do. She cut it short and it looked great. Like an instance face lift. Alex is a wonderful person and I can’t recommend her highly enough. Give her a try!

I’ve been going to Alex for a couple of years now and I even followed her here to her new salon, it is a bit further than where she used to be, but since she gives me excellent service then the drive is well worth it. She is always fun to be around and treats all her clients like family. Hell, she even opened up her salon me and my daughter for Christmas eve, now THAT’s exceptional good customer service! I love her! Will never look elsewhere!

I’ve been coming to Alex for years and followed her here to her new hair studio, Strand Design Lab in Torrance. Even though it is further for me and my girls to drive to get our hair done, she is worth the drive. Her new studio is nicely done, very clean and cozy, and has great customer service. Alex is an innovative owner and i look forward to coming to her salon to get pampered! The salon has great products and a facialist. I highly recommend this salon for your beauty needs!

I was referred here for facials and to my surprise there is no one here. I finally tracked her down– thank god– will not ever be coming back to this business. Used to be Jacobs but now thAt it’s strands would not be coming here. Would of given this place 0 stars but not an option

What a great salon!!! Alex the owner was so kind and professional! I was scared to try a new stylist since my hairdresser of 8 years moved out of state and since I travel a lot to California to visit family I got a referral from a friend to try Alex! She is very creative with her styles and did exactly what I wanted from a picture I showed her how I wanted it done! I’ll be back for sure!!! Thank you!

I was literally just in the area stopping at Whole Foods picking something up for a holiday get-​together and looked for a salon/​barber nearby so I could get a cut before going to my Thanksgiving event. Since I am a guy and get easy cuts, I really don’t care where I go. This salon is literally right by where I was at so I stopped in. I got a similar cut to what I always do, but I have to admit, I do have thinning hair. The stylist, who is also the owner, was talking to me about products I should and shouldn’t be using to keep the hair I do have healthy. She even wrote down the names of some things so I could research them because she knew I was in a hurry. I have never experienced this-​going into a salon where they talk products that would be beneficial without JUST trying to sell them. Also, the salon is very clean and welcoming. They had coffee available that Alex, the owner, let me just fill up and take with me. I love small businesses that take the time to treat their clients like human beings and make their experience personal. Thank you for the clean cut, the great tips, and the coffee!

I had an appointment scheduled with Jacob 10 weeks ago for this morning, my normal routine. I have been going to Jacob for over 15 years and have also been helped by several of the other stylists when the salon was «Jacobs». I show up to be told Jacob «retired». I then proceeded to ask if any of the other stylists who had provided me services were available. I was told none of them were available. Looking around there was nobody in the business except the receptionist. I then contacted some friends who are also clients of «Jacobs stylist» and find out Jacob was «fired»!!! and that all the other stylist also left and that I didn’t receive a phone call because none of the clients wanted the new owners services. So I was not notified in hopes that I would stick around and let the owner do my hair. I came in with my hair in desperate need of services. How dare the owner decide for me who is going to render my hair highlights and styling. I said no way and have been able to reschedule with some of the previous «ethical» staff. A very disappointed and never again customer.

I’ve been going to Alex for years now… She is the best at color and styling and her makeup skills rock my world! So happy that I have her for all of my beauty needs! She takes the best care of me and I so appreciate it! Thank you, Alex for everything!
