I first came to this place last year and it was amazing! Today I drove all the way from Sherman Oaks to a studio session and I was starving. I could have gone anywhere and decided to come here, need I say more? I broke away from my comfort zone(Miso ramen) and tried the Tonkatsu Black Garlic ramen and I have one word… AMAZING! It was so yummy and I will definitely be back again soon! If I didn’t live so far away I would be back here tomorrow! :)

*** $ 20 minimum purchase for credit cards *** Ramen Spott is the new home for Chef Sanji from Sushi Duke(Sushi Duke was closed due to fire at CJ’s Pantry in Redondo Beach back in Oct 2014). So what’s unique about this ramen restaurant? It offers free boiled eggs(serve only by request and limit to two eggs per ramen bowl)! In addition, this is a great place for sports fans because you’ll also find HDTVs showing various sports games. Lunch special: Chicken kottu($ 7.50) OR ramen combo(your choice of ramen and any 2 of the following items: 3 pot stickers, mini fried rice, or house green salad; price of ramen + extra $ 3.95). *** Tonkotsu Black Garlic($ 9.50): Broth was a bit watery, but not so watery that you can’t taste any tonkotsu flavors. Thinly sliced noodle tasted slightly more firm than soft and chashu pieces were somewhat decent.(3.5÷5) Fried rice: For some strange reason, this side dish looked and tasted somewhat similar to Taiwanese sticky rice. Decent enough to serve on the restaurant level, but not good enough to call it amazing.(3.5÷5) Pot stickers: Very average — tasted like pot stickers that you can get from any supermarkets(which isn’t necessary a bad thing …).(3⁄5) *** 3.5-star for my lunch experience, but it is without a doubt that there are better ramen options in the South Bay area. I didn’t have a chance to try sushi here, but sushi sounds like a more promising option than ramen based on what I’ve been reading so far.

Once you go black, you won’t want to go back!!! I am still thinking of most amazing black tonkatsu garlic ramen I had over Christmas week. I picked my daughter up from the airport after a week in Texas and ramen was sounding really good… I typically pass and sit and wait when my daughter has her ramen cravings but when I saw the black tonkatsu garlic ramen I had to try it. What makes it black? I think technically it’s burnt garlic oil and when mixed with the(pork) tonkatsu both, it’s divine. I tried my daughter’s plain tonkatsu broth and it was rich and flavorful itself. The ramen comes with hard boiled eggs on the side and tons of chopper raw garlic paste as a condiment. We also got the chicken karaage and coconut pudding. The next time I come back I must try the yuzu sorbet: p

Food was simply delicious. I had the Seafood Ramen, was told that it has a Bonito Broth, so I take their word on that. The soup was delicious and the Ramen noodles themselves were perfect. Great texture and taste. I will definitely be back here again soon. 4 stars only for slow service and inattentiveness of the staff. Also the server first told us that the broth for the seafood soup was chicken and the chef came out and corrected her.

Best ramen place in the southbay!!! So good and fast service on a Sunday night! I had the Shoyu Mochi Ramen and it tasted so good! I don’t usually drink the broth but the broth here is so good! I will definitely come back this week because it will rain!

Came here in a whim and everyone’s reviews. 3.5(4 if they improved per below) This will be my review based on comparison with Hakata and Yamada. The other places that are in south bay that are not metioned are basically not worthy with the exception of Jidaiya. Noodles: White and firm noodles and know what kata– men means. Impressed Soup: Not porky or thick but on a flavorful light side. Very enjoyable. Condiments while they cost extra well worth especially seaweed(kikurage which is technically mushrooms). Extra noodle had the volume of 2x the amount. ***Note** This place did not make me drink a lot of water. That means less msg. Note the mini chashu bow is really mini like kids ramen. Improvements: Since it is assari(not greasy) they should have white seasame Soups base should be also placed next to soy sauce Menu should indicate the firmness selection Long story short, the msg usage is very low. Definitely coming back once in a while.

I didn’t know about this place until I was walking by and saw pictures of ramen on the window. Finally had a chance to check this place out on Thanksgiving Eve. My dinner companion and I were quickly seated around 7:30pm. Menu isn’t overwhelming, options of sushi and various ramen broth with light appetizers. I opted for the tonkotsu miso while my dinner companion went with the black garlic tonkotsu. My tonkotsu miso was pretty standard to most other places. There were definitely lots of flavor, not overly salty with tender pork. The ramen noodles itself were extra fine in texture, yet not soggy. Nothing too out of the ordinary. I had few bites of the black garlic tonkotsu and in the future, I’d get this instead. The flavor was stronger, in a nice mix sort of way of light garlic, soysauce(?), with a hint of sweet?. It’s unique and I haven’t tasted anything like this elsewhere. Ingredients inside was standard to everything else in terms of quality and quantity. 2 eggs per bowl and they’re brought on the side, you peel them and add to your ramen. My only dislike would be the«extras» you can include for additional charge. My dinner companion added corn(extra $ 1) that came on the side as well. There were maybe 20 kernels of corn total. After we both put ½ in each, we had to go digging for the corn. Not worth the extra $. Service was good, atmosphere was nice, restroom was clean, I’ll probably be back.

Have you ever had a ramen hangover? I haven’t either until I came here. I ordered the black garlic tonkatsu ramen. The broth and chasu were tasty, but I was not a big fan of the noodles. Also, it was a bit too salty/MSG-y for my liking. I ended up drinking 4 glasses of water. I initially was drawn to this spot due to the unlimited boiled eggs. However, I think now they are limiting it to two a person, which is plenty. Anyway, I ended up with a migraine a few hours and the following day after eating it. Also, their menu might need some work to make it consistent. They had an appetizer that tasted similar to chilaquiles, but don’t think it really mesh well with the other dishes and the theme. Just my thoughts. Décor is modern and clean. Plenty of seating. Service is friendly, but slow on a not busy night.

Dined here several times already and consider myself a regular diner. Décor is modern and clean. Service is friendly and attentive. I have eaten at several ramen joints(Yamadaya, Santoka, etc). This is by far my favorite. I love the thin noodles that comes with their tonkotsu ramens. Also love the fact that they also offer limited selection of sushi. I love sushi so it’s nice to compliment it with my ramen. The salmon sushi by far is the best, taste like candy. Also like their blue crab hand roll. Just because they are not Japanese, they can’t make ramen? For some people to point out the chef/owner is not Japanese is just racist.

This is a quite little place on the corner of PCH and Crenshaw. First let me warn you that this place is a 20 min credit card charge, so if you are coming to eat alone be sure to bring cash! Now on to the review, this place is above average, not great!, but better than most ramen places that I’ve been too, came here for lunch special and the prices for a bowl of ramen average to about $ 8.95, and for $ 3.95 more you can get 3 pieces of gyoza and a side order of fried rice Warning don’t get a ramen that doesn’t say tonkotsu, or else you’ll get cheap, instant ramen noodles, tonkotsu noodles are far better noodle, and will defiantly Change your experience here, 4⁄5

I thought this place was ok. I came here to grab a quick lunch before running some errands. The first thing that struck me was that the table I sat at was placed flush against the wall so that I sat facing the wall, another wall was to my right(I was in the corner) and to my left was a pole. Felt pretty isolating and weird. The free unlimited eggs thing is a huge gimmick. You have to peel them yourself, it’s not flavored, and the egg I got was basically hard boiled. :(The ramen itself was fairly delicious(though the chashu was paper thin). Given that there are about 60 ramen places within 5 miles of here, I think this one is not going to be on my rotating list.

Nice modern space, clean lines, black, white, grey motif w/touches of color from various objets d’art. Rather ascetic seating, but that’s probably for faster table turn over. Quiet & civilized atmosphere where you don’t have to shout to be heard. Service is quick without frills. I wanted Assari/light &refreshing style Ra-men so I ordered the Yuzu/Japanese citrus Shio Ra-men. The broth is chicken based & rather clear. However, I couldn’t sense the Yuzu either as a flavor or as a gastrique. The Ra-men noodles were the standard size & cooked al dente so that as the noodles stayed in the soup, they would slowly soften. Good slow roasted thin slice of pork belly was added along w/Memma/braised bamboo shoot, green onions. This Shio Ra-men broth had no depth of chicken broth Umami. I wanted Assari, but this broth was boringly plain. Gyo-za/pot stickers weren’t very flavourful. The filling was mushy without having meaty flavours. At many Ra-men~ya. toasty nutty tasting sesame oil is added to the filling but no such luck here. The outside wheat flour wrapper is fried but not crispy so there is no contrast between parts of the wrapper that are crispy to parts that are more doughy. It was all doughy. Ice GreenTea from a can was the drink of choice. Lightly acidic green herbal taste to refresh the palate. Friends said they were happy w/their Tonkotsu/pork bone broth Ra-men, but my Yuzu Shio Ra-men & Gyo-za did not hit the mark. Even the pureed garlic was mild & inoffensive. For now 3– Unilocal stars for rather mediocre food.

ok, granted I haven’t been to many«ramen» shops. I can only judge by my(novice) taste buds… and its saying i LOVE the miso spicy ramen! its so flavorful, and you can taste the pork in the broth… so its that much better. as for my daughter, she loves the shiyo with lots and i mean LOTs of hardboiled eggs(you can have 2 per ramen.) they’re open late. they have an attentive staff that provide great service… oh, did i mention, they also serve fried calamari? oooh… heaven and all this for under $ 8−9/bucks a person. thank you!

There’s a lot of competing ramen spots in Torrance/Gardena, and this is one of the newest out of the bunch. The restaurant location is close to the front of Rolling Hills Plaza facing Crenshaw Blvd. My bf and I had to circle around the plaza looking for this place haha. The interior is very clean and white, and we sat on the higher bar stools. As opposed to the other reviews, our service was fine. We didn’t encounter any problems. I ordered the YUZUSHIO ramen, and it was ok. I think the one at Umenoya is better in terms of the broth. My bf got the tonkotsu spicy miso. It says unlimited eggs, but when we went, we were limited to 2 eggs each. Not that I can eat too many boiled eggs, but they need to take that sign off the front if they’re not going to honor it. It’s not bad, and I wouldn’t mind going here again, but I think I prefer Santouka Ramen or Umenoya over this spot.

Decided we wanted to try a new ramen spot and so glad we did! Location is light and clean, decorated in a fun modern way. Greeted upon arrival and seated immediately. Very friendly service. I had a little trouble narrowing my menu choices down. So I asked our server for a recommendation. She recommended the Yuzu Shio because of the citrus flavor. I love all things lemon so I went for it. LOVEDIT! They give you unlimited boiled eggs, you have to peel them yourself! Which I actually enjoyed doing with my date lol. Restroom is spacious and clean. Customer service is top notch so 5 stars. Will be back!

A wild ramen spot has appeared! Another contestant to the large growing list of ramen joints in the South Bay. This«ramen spott» is located in the Rolling Hills Plaza and seats maybe about 12 – 15 people max. The first thing I noticed is the interesting menu. They provide sushi rolls along with their ramen. They also have a varied selection of ramen choices ranging from $ 8 to $ 11 per bowl. Rolls were around $ 5 and were decent for the price. I decided to give their Tonkotsu Black Garlic ramen a shot since it looked so appealing. This bowl definitely passes the broth inspection. A bit salty but porky, smooth, and garlicky as all hell. The ramen noodles were thin but cooked al dente like how it should be. Toppings included red ginger, mushroom, green onion, and two THIN slices of pork. Unfortunately, they only have non-alcoholic beer here. After clearing my bowl, I realized there’s another ramen spot to consider when craving noodles in the South Bay. Open until 11:00pm, this will definitely be a contender when craving some garlic and noodles. Visit for more reviews!

I don’t know why but Unilocal should really have a half star system… well I give this place 3.5 stars. Service: Service was alright. Me and my friend sat down and the server took our drink order right away. Upon ordering, we never knew about the free eggs or even if the eggs was self service. Ignoring the facts, the service was alright but kind of slow because it was only one person working. Food: I had the Tokatsu Black Garlic Ramen… the soup base was really delicious, kind of wish I had a bit more of pickled radish then 3 or 4 small pieces. I say that because it’s a dollar more if you want extra. The noodles were kind of disappointing because it was basic chinese noodles, not the alkaline ramen noodles that makes it nice and chewy and has that snap when biting into it. Common with most ramen noodle shops in La. Ambiance: It’s a small place. It has the fast food sushi restaurant kind of feel like Yasai or Niko NIko. Parking: It’s in a plaza so there’s a lot of spaces.

Ramen Spott is the best ramen that you will find in Torrance. If I am giving a universal rating, then it is definitely 4.5 stars. That is, if you live in the South Bay, this is 5 stars. If you live anywhere else, this is 4.5 stars. Well, people, I live in the South Bay. I am ECSTATIC to have a tasty ramen restaurant with wonderful service that is within 15 minutes of my house rather than shlepping to Little Tokyo or Gardena. It’s a little restaurant on the west side of Rolling Hills Plaza that fronts Crenshaw. It is incredibly clean; there are bars in the window with three barstools each and then three 4-tops and three 2-tops. The restaurant is black and silver, and the chopsticks are on the table for your dining pleasure. They even have little dishes(HELLOKITTYBOWL!!!) for you to share your ramen with your LO.(FYI: the highchair has a broken strap, so bring your own strap.) There are 2 televisions on which they were airing classic sports games. Because we came in just after they opened at 11:30AM, we had our selection of tables. We ordered: Seaweed Salad($ 2.50): excellent, well seasoned seaweed salad with a wedge of pickled carrot on the top. Seaweed salad is a salty green flavor with a chewy texture that I just love. Crunchy Garlic Shoyu Ramen($ 8.50): a gorgeous bowl of deep brown shoyu(basically dark soy sauce) broth with two super thin slices of very tender pork, loads of noodles, shaved green onions, mushrooms and tons of beautiful golden brown garlic chips. DH loved this. Shoyu is a bit salty for my palate, but the flavor was great. The garlic chips were the absolute highlight. With your ramen, your are entitled to AYCE hard boiled eggs. OMG. They are perfect. The cold eggs are perfectly cooked — the egg yolk is just barely solidified and still is the color of a yellow crayola. We broke them up and added them to our ramen. Wow! The only reason that this is not a universal 5 stars is the ramen noodles are very good but they are not housemade. Housemade noodles would make Ramen Spott a universal 5 stars. Lunch Combo for Ramen with Fried Rice and Gyoza($ 3.95): this is a great deal. You get a cup of their beautiful fried rice that is well seasoned, very moist and has gorgeous bits of fresh egg and mushrooms. Excellent. You also get 3 gyoza with a mild ground pork and green onion filling that was moist on the inside and perfectly pan fried on the outside for a little crunch. Tonkotsu Ramen($ 7): I was SO happy with my order. A bowl of lightly colored pork broth that was perfectly seasoned and neither too greasy nor too salty — just right for this goldilocks. It was loaded with noodles and topped with the gorgeous two slices of incredibly tender pork, shaved green onions, shitake mushrooms and grated pickled ginger that added a subtle pink hue and a TON of flavor when mixed in. You can see that it was a huge bowl and I ATEEVERYBITE. We stuck with water, and the owner was SOGOOD about keeping out BIGMUGS filled. Her staff person was a very sweet man. The owner has her own LO behind the counter, so it is clear to see why they are so family friendly. I HIGHLY recommend Ramen Spott. Where else can a family of 3 eat lunch for $ 22.84 and leave STUFFED. Plus, the people are lovely, the restaurant is SOCLEAN and the food is delicious! FYI: The menu says credit cards require a $ 20 purchase and the tray says cash only. Not sure what that all means, so I just paid with cash.

RAMENSPOTT… THATNEWNEWGOODSPOT! Came here on a Monday around 545pm. They open up again around 5pm. This ramen place is pretty good. Located in the rolling hills plaza where cups used to be. It’s in the same row as PV massage and to the side of whole foods. You walk in and you are greeted by the staff. They are very welcoming. The interior is really eye catching. Very clean cut and cool light effects. The chairs are like woven leather and pretty comfy. The menus are located on the table and the waitress brings the sushi menu that is printed on a piece of paper. The service is excellent and everyone is very nice. We ordered our food and it came out quickly. We ordered: Sushi duke –crunchy and yummy Crab roll – deep fried and very tasty Some tuna roll – very fresh Calamari – lightly battered Karage – crunchy and tender Shoyu tonkotsu – very good Tonkotsu black garlic — yummy and garlicky! Everything was so good. There’s like more than 8 types of ramen flavors! The coconut ramen will the next thing I try when I come back! We also got a coconut pudding and ITWASAMAZING — -best thing ever. Lol. In my opinion, I like this place better than umenoya and yamadaya… but that’s just me lol! No shade tho! Haha.
