Lillian Chen, MD

It’s sad that there are no good doctors near me, I have to drive 20 miles to see one. This is a preliminary review, based on my initial contact with this office. The person (Juan) who took my first appt. was very courteous and professional, something that seems rare these days. I will follow my review up once I see Dr. Chen next week. I thank those that took the time to review her so that I can feel inspired about trying this doctor… William

I went to see Dr. Chen after seeing 2 previous doctors with no help. She took the time to listen, did a very through exam, and told me exactly what to do to get better. Dr. Chen and her staff are wonderful!

Grateful that switched over to UCLA Health and Dr. Lillian Chen. Today was my first appointment and it was a wonderful experience.

So thankful that I found Dr. Chen! She is, by far, the best doctor that I have ever had. She is patient, informative, and really listens to what you have to say. Dr. Chen is extremely responsive and quick to return calls, emails, and test results. She takes her time to find out your full medical history and really understand what your needs are. She also explains everything thoroughly and answers any questions that you may have. I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful she is. I have never enjoyed going to the doctor, but she has changed my mind on that. I know that I am now in the very capable hands of Dr. Chen!

Indeed. I have a great new internist, by accident. I was trying to see a different doctor at the same clinic but that physician had a long wait for a new appointment, so I decided to take a chance on a new doctor — Dr. Chen and boy, am I glad I did. Dr. Chen started practicing this year, after completing her residency at UCLA, but don’t think for a moment that it takes anything away from her sense of service, knowledge and professionalism.
Doctor Chen takes the time to get to know you both as a person and as a patient, which is so important for a good patient-​doctor relationship which is meaningful and productive. She has excellent knowledge of the widest variety of medical topics and if there is something she might be uncertain about — rest assured that she’ll research it and let you know what she has found. Her exams are very thorough and she has a very gentle bedside manner which will put you at ease. She doesn’t only follow up and calls you to discuss tests results, she is plugged in and knows what did a specialist she sent you to suggest, and makes sure that you stick with the program, be it hers, or the specialist’s. In short (as short as I get) — an excellent doctor! I hope that as she gets busier, she’ll still keep the same fantastic level of responsiveness and the thorough approach, as she offers now.
Let’s bookend this with another Mark Twain quote: «Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint.» If you have a problem, don’t read a health book — go see Dr. Lillian Chen — you’ll be glad you did.
