I visited a few times with my children and the stylists were okay. A good number of the stylists are on stand-​by to cater to walk-​in customers and they all seem to be quick and efficient. However, even after my daughters showed the pictures of how they wanted their haircuts done, the stylists (all of them speak very limited English) cut shorter than my daughters requested without consulting them. Not only that, the stylists don’t make satisfactory effort ro remove all the hair pieces on customer’s body and clothing, allowing the customers walk out with hair pieces all over. Also, the last time I visited in December, one of the girls who work in the back used dirty towels to support my neck during shampooing and another dirty towel (used and wet from another customer) to dry my hair! The girl was too lazy to fetch a few clean dry towels but instead, I caught her rummaging through a bin full of wet, dirty towels to use on me. Not a very sanitary place.

Great work Sarah! Very friendly staff and patient with children. Can’t wait to see the salon after the remodeling is done.

I had been toying with the idea of getting a digital perm for quite some time but finally decided take the plunge. I decided to schedule an appointment with Ester after reading good Unilocal reviews and was able to get one the same day (weekday afternoon). The digital perm took about 3 hours and cost $ 200. Most good salons charge $ 250 base price (depends on hair length) and here for $ 200 I was able to get a digital perm and a trim.
This was my first time doing a perm but Ester walked me through the whole process and made me feel comfortable. I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted and after trimming my hair and bangs, we were ready to begin. Another lady came to help out to speed up the process and because I have quite a bit of hair. Together they rolled my hair in big rollers (after adding a protectant) and connected it to an oblong looking heat stand. Then began the waiting process for it to set in. Although other patrons came in for haircuts, she always came back to check up on me. When it got a little hot, she would use a hair dryer to help cool it down a bit. It was quite an experience.
After taking the rollers out, I have to admit I was a bit disappointed at first because I didn’t get those big curls I imagined. Ester explained that my curls would loosen over some time and gave me some tips on how to take care of my new perm. It’s been almost a year since I came to get my perm and the curls are still there albeit not in the same way. They have loosened over time (just like she said) and my hair has gotten a lot longer weighing down on the curls. It definitely looks better after some time.
This place is Korean owned but you don’t need to speak Korean to come here. Overall I had a great experience here and I would definitely come back here again to get a digital perm. If you’re looking for a salon that does great digital perms at a decent price and is experienced, come here!

For the first time I got a «Texture Clinic» it’s pretty much like a permanent straightening solution. Only that this is their very own creation (only done at this salon). Instead of it giving me a pin straight look, it looks more of a natural flow, without all the unmanageable frizz. I absolutely fell in love with this procedure. All I have to do when I jump out the shower, is brush my hair and I’m done, if I want to style it I skip the straightening part and just curl.
I had gotten a Japanese straightening procedure done a few years back, it was alright, but my hair was too straight and it’s also more damaging. Mid 2015 I got a Brazilian blowout, and it only lasts about 3 to 6 months… This procedure (texture clinic) is permanent, till your hair grows, and you only need to touch up the roots.
Cho Hee and her 2 assistants Wendy and Daisy did an amazing job on my hair. Cho Hee was a very tender hearted person and gave me high quality service. I’ve never felt this comfortable at another salon.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I was always really scared to go to hair salons and even nail salons because I always got bad service. That was not the case at Hair Salon Ziva.

Went in for a texture straightening + digital perm yesterday morning with Cho Hee. Having done similar perms (re: Japanese straightening) before in other salons, this was by far my best experience!
Cho Hee was very attentive and knew what she was doing when it came to «designing my hair.» Judging by the smell, chemicals used didn’t seem to be as harsh as the ones used in other salons. The straightener she used was slightly curved on the ends so your hair can retain some volume after straightening.
In four hours, I had my thick, heavy, slightly frizzy hair transformed into nice, effortless beach waves. Cho Hee also gave a few complimentary sample products for the ends of my hair after we were done.
Fantastic salon and hair stylist, will ¹⁰⁄₁₀ come back again! (Little hesitant to share this knowing that she’s going to be fully booked after all these great Unilocal reviews, but what can you do? :-) She deserves it!)

Cho is a great stylist. I’ve been here several times. I came here before w another hair stylist, forgot the name, but she was also very good. U can always trust what they suggest if you don’t have a concrete idea yourself. I haven’t tried the electric perm yet but if I do I would go to them. This is a honest, trustworthy, and friendly business. Very glad a friend recommended me to this place.

I just got a hair cut and Texture Clinic done by Cho Hee and I love it!
I have long, thin hair that’s dry and frizzy and have tried everything to get it more manageable from expensive oil treatments and all-​natural shampoo/​conditioners to straight perms… but nothing really satisfied me because the shampoos didn’t do much and the Japanese straight perms made my hair flat and unnatural looking with zero body.
My hair came out great! The texture clinic made my hair soft and smooth, without making it flat. It renewed it! Best thing is the effects are permanent (until the hair grows out and you cut it off). The amount of hair cut off was perfect too — not too much and not too little (I cut about 3 inches off).
Cho Hee is extremely friendly, explains everything to you in detail, let’s you know the prices upfront and explains the potential pros and cons so you can make well-​informed decisions. She REALLY listens to what you want. I also appreciate how gentle she is with your hair. Sometimes I get irritated at how hair dressers pull at your hair and yank the comb through which makes a lot of hair fall out but no matter what she did she was gentle and thorough.
The only con and reason I didn’t give the review 5 stars is that I went on a Saturday morning and as they got more customers in, Cho Hee had to go tend to them because she is the head hair dresser there. So within the 3 hour treatment, she actually only worked on me for 1 hour while the assistants worked on me the rest of the time (who unfortunately were not as gentle on my hair).
Lastly, if you want to do texture clinic and a trim/​cut, it is a little pricey– roughly $ 300 ($ 350 if you have highlights and they need to do one extra step to keep that part of your hair protected). BUT worth every penny in my opinion! I will definitely be going back to her!

My daughter had her hair done here for her homecoming dance. It’s our first time coming here. The lady who did her hair was super nice and she did a good job with my daughter’s hair considering that her hair is so thick and long. The ambience and the place is very good too. Will be coming back here.

I used to hate getting hair cuts (I refused to cut my hair for years) until I met Cho Hee, who is an absolute expert with hair. She cuts my hair every two months and she gets it right every single time!

I have never written a Unilocal review prior to this but with the awesome haircuts Cho Hee consistently provided me over the years; I just feel it’s time. This review is long overdue.
It’s not just anyone I trust taking a scissor to my hair since it grows at a snail’s pace. Cho Hee listens to what I want and I’ve always walked away beyond satisfied. During my last visit, I took her up on her recommended root lifting perm for my thin limpy straight hair, and the result was simply amazing. I can now maintain my hairstyle with so much ease. Gone are the days that I must blow dry my hair upside down, adding a ton of moose, round brushing with hot blow dryer and gluing it all down with hair sprays. Thank you, Cho Hee for relieving my hair/​scalp from such torture every day.

I’ve been coming here since I was little! Always ask for Elizabeth aka Liz or Ester! I love how they do hair coloring and hair cuts. Layers look amazing! They cut it the exact length i like.

Eugene did a great job on my blowout and it lasted for a week! (My scalp was pretty itchy by the end, but the hair looked great still!) Even despite dancing at a wedding & being by the ocean for several hours during a wedding, my hair never got frizzy.
It was $ 40 for a blowout, but totally worth it! I highly recommend Eugene, she was meticulous and friendly! :)

My mom found this salon around 3 years ago and we’ve both been blessed to have Cho Hee do our hairs ever since! She is hands down the best stylist/​colorist/​artist we’ve have, ever. I can’t recommend this Salon enough!

Esther is Amazing at her job. She knows straight hair and she knows how to trim your hair to suit your face cut. She listened to what i wanted and did exactly as asked. She then suggested that she could make it better, which she dd. The Reception is very courteous and efficient. They don’t force services on you and help you decide if you ask. The price tags are minimal for the efficient service and clean, well maintained Salon. Definitely going back again!

It’s hard to find someone who can cut my hair the style I want it, as many hairstylists sometimes follow their own agenda. I came to Ziva & Cho Hee cut my hair, giving me a really clean & nicely done cut :) I will definitely find myself coming back here~

I was desperately searching for a new hair stylist. Thank goodness I found this place! Eugene gave me my haircut and she was amazing! She listened to me and actually paid attention to what I wanted, which my old hair stylist had not done for a long time. She took her time and clearly knew exactly what she was doing. The salon is pretty, too, and the price is decent. I’m definitely coming back here next time!

My family and I have been coming here for over 10 years and we wouldn’t go anywhere else! We go there for anything from a haircut to japanese hair straightening. The prices are definitely reasonable and the service is always great. I’m actually heading over there later for getting my hair thinned.
A little tip, the two best to go to for the japanese hair straightening and haircuts are Choy and Esther! Choy does amazing work!
