What a rip off! I have VSP through my work, so I went in to inquire if they accepted VSP, which I was told they did, but it only covered $ 45 of the $ 58 exam, No problem. Co-​pays are part of life, right? So I make appointments for my family of 5. The next day I took two of my kids in for their exams and was told AFTER THE EXAMS that I would have to pay $ 34 EACH instead of the $ 13 I was expecting to pay, especially after hearing the receptionist tell another customer that the cost of a FULL examination was $ 58. When I questioned about the cost, I was told that the $ 58 was for those WITHOUT insurance and that had to, by policy, Bill the insurance $ 45, because this particular office was «out of network». But here is my question: WHY ARE THEY MAKING PEOPLE WITH INSURANCE PAY MORE FOR AN EXAM THAN THOSE WITHOUT? 58 MINUS 45 IS 13, NOT 34! But what REALLY pissed me off was the smug look of one of the doctors that was standing there when his receptionist was reciting the flim flam to me. As far as the star rating goes, one star is 34 stars too generous.

Firstsight Vision is conveniently located inside Walmart on Normandie and 190^th in Torrance. My daughter was complaining about her deteriorating vision since our last visit to the optometrist in November of 2014 so we walked in without an appointment. The wait wasn’t bad as I had expected. It was about 30 – 45 minutes.
Firstsight Vision didn’t accept our insurance so we paid $ 89 for both contact lens and eye glasses prescription. Dr. John Son was personable and the process overall was painless. He gave us samples of contact lenses.

Was looking for another eye doctor in the area to get a new prescription. was referred to by 1 800 Contacts. Not a very friendly office as a first time customer. Had an eye exam done by Sydney Hong OD. What should have been a basic eye exam was a complete joke, Have no idea as to what she was talking about, she was more involved in talking
terminology than she was listening asked several questions repeatedly and the eye exam alone was a complete joke. Flickering it back and fourth and not giving you a chance to speak why ask the questions. This Doctor was so by the book and sounded more like she was teaching a seminar. Not a people person at all, longest exam ever if you want to learn about optics she’s the one to go to. Do not waste your time look around I know I should have. Worse experience ever got my prescription will never go back.
